Extra’s Path To Demon King
Chapter 262: Her Story [3]
CHAPTER 262: HER STORY [3]
Sophia became utterly baffled and shocked. She began to think that this was a dream, definitely a dream, as tears started to gather in her eyes. This is definitely some bullshit nightmare; she never wished to be a part of such a thing. No, more than that, she could never part ways with Tyler. Never, she could not accept that.
Seeing the disbelieving and terrified look of the valkyrie, the concubine playing the role of the queen, she spoke in a reassuring voice, "Sigh, little girl, I understand that this is a bit too overwhelming to take in, and yes, you have been summoned to a different world. A world completely different than yours in every possible way."
"And the reason you have been summoned to this world is because."
She stopped abruptly, letting the anticipation build in as the silence grew longer and revealed with a grand tone,
"Because you are burdened with glorious purpose."
"In this world of ours, unfortunately, as it may be, there are countless other races besides humans, and they are all far more powerful races; humans remain by far the weakest. It’s a sad situation, to be honest, because the difference in power between our species is just too substantial. Though we maintain a fragile veil of peace, we can, in fact, be wiped out at any given moment. Thirty billion humans could all be killed if a war ever breaks out with the other races."
"And the reason you are summoned is precisely tied to that fact. You, as an otherworlder, possess immense talent and potential, exceptional skills in your arsenal as you grow stronger in this world. The more you grow stronger, the more it will be revealed to be true."
"As such, when you reach those very stages of power, you alone could defend humanity against those powerful and significant threats. That is your destiny and true worth you hold. You are the summoned heroine, the protector. The Liberator of humanity."
The more Sophia listened to the nonsense of the overly arrogant fucking bitch, the more her sad mood transformed into genuine anger. There was a murderous and chilling look in her eyes as she interrupted the flamboyant crap coming out of the acting queen’s mouth. She spat in disgust, "WHAT BULLSHIT ARE YOU SPOUTING?"
Her voice had a dangerous intensity to it, as her scarlet-red eyes gave off a menacing vibe without her even realizing it. She added again in a furious tone, "SEND ME BACK TO WHERE I CAME FROM. I COULDN’T GIVE A FUCK WHETHER 10 BILLION OR A TRILLION OF HUMANS DIE. SEND ME BACK RIGHT NOW."
Her cold and contradictory statement, compared to what her role was expected to be and what the concubine had just explained, caused an uncomfortable and heavy silence to descend upon the throne room. While most of the royals did not take that statement well, no one said anything.
The smile on the face of the concubine remained unbothered despite her bold and rebellious statement. She looked at the summoned heroine in what seemed to be gleeful amusement. She saw the helpless girl, who was shouting out of desperation for help. To be rescued, there was a trace of dark despair in the depths of her eyes. And the concubine only reveled in that pain of the little helpless girl.
She stood up from her queenly throne, her voice taking an unexpectedly softer turn, "If it were anyone else to say such...bold words. They would be tortured until they begged for death, until they would be pushed to such a breaking point that the sweet end of death would be the greatest fantasy, a fantasy they would perhaps never realize. All of their families, friends, relatives, parents, grandparents, siblings, and children. Everyone and everything related to that individual would be wiped out, every single person who carries their blood would meet the same fate, they would be butchered alive, without exception."
There was only a grave tone of seriousness in her voice, no rage, no warning, nothing, as if she were not talking about slaughtering three generations and the entire bloodlines of an individual, but instead talking about something mundane. A shudder ran through the spine of Sophia at the coldness of the words spoken by the supposed queen. Fearing possible death, she swallowed hard and looked at all the royals in the throne room cautiously.
But the concubine smiled again, "However, you do not need to worry, no such thing will happen to you, not that you have anyone else here for you either. But I would dearly advise you not to make such bold remarks again. At least not in the presence of the strongest being in the entirety of humanity. The King of the strongest human kingdom. The only ruler of the Suncrest Great Kingdom, Leonidas Suncrest."
Then, for the first time since the beginning, the overwhelmingly authoritative voice of the majestic king reverberated through the entire throne, "KNEEL."
His voice contained a silent power that shook the entire room, or perhaps even the whole palace. Everyone was forced to kneel; most simply submitted to that force of oppression, kneeling out of their volition as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Sophia tried to resist it with all her might. But she did not even last half a second. Unable to resist, she kneeled, but something deep and sinister, hidden within her, was utterly revolted, disgusted beyond measure. Not for the fact that she was forced to kneel, but rather because of the order of the king. Felt absolute to her. As if something within her obeyed it obediently, as if it were the most obvious thing to do. Almost akin to that of a master commanding their slave.
The king commanded her again, "What is your name?"
Unable to control herself, the words came out of her mouth automatically, "Sophia Turner."
The king hummed thoughtfully, declaring in a royal authority, "From now on, you shall bear the surname of the first valkyrie, the same surname that all the Valkyries had carried throughout the generations. From henceforth, you shall be called Sophia Evercrest."
Her body itself obeyed the commands of the king, and that sensation was beyond revolting. Boundless rage overflowed within her as she glared hatefully at the so-called king, not an ounce of fear within her, blinded by the emotion of anger. She declared with a chilling malevolence that did not match with her current powerless state, "One day, I will definitely kill you...."
Then, right after she turned unconscious unable to handle the pressure weighing down on her powerless body, The king realized the almost undeniable tone of finality in the declaration of valkyrie, something which even he felt it, a sense of bad premonition settled for a fraction of a second in the heart of the strongest 6th phase being, the strongest human. But that only brought a large grin on his face, as he laughed aloud with a deep voice.
The voice of the king alone carried a silent wave of power that sent chills down the spines of all the royals present. He stated loudly in excitement, "Good, good, very good, she should at least have that much courage, if she ever hopes to stand against the mighty races that rule over the continent with absolute strength."
The concubine turned towards his king, her tone became much more reverent as she asked, "But my king, what she said just now, I have read the records about the past feats of the valkyrie, how ridiculously strong they become."
The king chuckled and said to the concubine in a calm and controlled tone, "That is precisely why she is called the divine valkyrie: the summoned heroine, the singular protector of humanity.
"Don’t worry, my queen, you also know that I can greatly control her because of the summoning brand imprinted on her very soul. However, the control of it loosens as she grows stronger. But because of the very nature of the summoning brand itself. She will eventually fall in love with the next king."
The concubine smiled vibrantly, "It seems I have to keep my future daughter-in-law in check, and make sure that she receives proper education and etiquette. Only then would she be fit to become the queen."
The concubine already had in mind the psychological and physical torture she would be put through, and that the valkyrie must be married to her first son, Luther. She smiled gleefully, thinking about the distant future when her son would become the unrivaled king, and the Valkyrie would become as obedient as a slave to her commands, eventually.
From then on, Sophia’s life became an even greater hell, but strangely, she felt like she had already died within. Separation from Tyler left her hollow; she was like a doll being controlled by a Marinette. The princes, princesses, and royals would look at her in contempt. A whip would beat her if she did not learn the lessons each day properly, if she did not practice martial arts and swordsmanship properly, and progress enough each day.
She was helpless in every possible way in that place; no one to help her, no one to save her. They would all look at her like an object, an object that already has a purpose, whether it liked it or not. Then, she heard the news that almost made her consider suicide; she was supposed to be engaged and married to the first prince, Luther, who the king favors the most to become the next king, as his first child and the child of the woman the king dearly loved.
