Extra Survival Guide to Overpowering Hero and Villain
Chapter 231: Class II
CHAPTER 231: CLASS II
Fenric stared at the glowing blue screens until his eyes hurt.
"...This is broken," he whispered again, still in disbelief.
His titles faded, and a new window slid open—larger than the others, almost like the system wanted to make sure he didn’t miss this one.
Fenric blinked.
"...There’s more?"
The header shined with a simple name:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Fate Rite — Golden Origin Path
(Type: Destiny / Growth / Blessing)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Fenric leaned closer.
"...Fate Rite?"
The description unfolded in clean, simple text.
Fate Rite — Golden Origin Path
Explanation (Simple English):
This is the destiny the Supreme Dragon placed on you.
It guides your growth, protects your future, and pushes you toward a powerful fate.
Effects:
Your future luck increases naturally over time.
The longer you live, the luckier you get.
Your body, spirit, and magic grow faster than normal.
Even without training, you improve little by little.
You gain a natural sense for danger or good opportunities.
You don’t know exactly what will happen, but you feel when something good—or bad—is coming.
All golden-related skills, magic, or aura become easier to learn.
Even complicated techniques feel simple for you.
You cannot be easily controlled or influenced by fate manipulation.
Your destiny belongs to you.
Special Passive:
Golden Fate Flow
Your good luck spreads to people close to you.
Your bad luck is reduced by half before it affects you.
Fenric’s hand slowly lowered from the glowing window.
"Hm... so it’s a blessing of some sort. But it wasn’t there before," he muttered.
A small message appeared.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[ Host received it during class awakening. ]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Fenric nodded. "That makes sense."
Then, thinking about everything he had learned, he rubbed his chin.
"I think... training under that hot Chief first, and then leaving later, might be a good idea," he mumbled, finally making up his mind.
Fenric leaned back on his bed, feeling the decision settle in his chest.
Staying meant he would be safe, trained, and guided by someone who actually understood this world.
Leaving right away... that would probably end with him dying to some random monster on day two.
"Yeah," he said to himself. "I should get strong first. Then I can explore."
He closed the status windows and stretched.
Just then, Spunky jumped onto the bed, curling up next to him. Fenric scratched behind his ears.
"At least you agree," Fenric sighed.
A knock echoed from outside.
"Fenric," Liana called. "Dinner’s ready. Come down before Seraphina eats everything."
Fenric stood up, grabbed his jacket, and opened the door.
Liana raised an eyebrow as she saw his expression. "You look... different. You decide something?"
"Yeah," Fenric said. "I’ll stay. I’m going to train under Seraphina."
Liana blinked, then nodded approvingly. "Good choice. She doesn’t take many students. If she trains you, you’ll get strong fast."
Fenric grinned. "That’s the plan."
They walked down the stairs toward the dining hall.
Warm lights, warm food, and warm voices filled the place. It felt... safe. Peaceful.
Fenric sat down and started eating. Seraphina walked in a moment later, her presence strong as always. She noticed him immediately.
"So," she asked calmly, "have you made your decision?"
Fenric wiped his mouth and nodded. "Yes. I want to stay and train under you."
Seraphina stared at him for a moment. Then she gave the smallest smile.
"Good. Training begins tomorrow morning."
Liana leaned close and whispered, "That smile means you’re in for hell."
Fenric swallowed.
"...Great."
Seraphina clapped her hands once. "Eat well and sleep early. You’ll need all the energy you can get."
Fenric stared at his bowl.
"Why do I feel like I just signed up for pain?"
Spunky barked.
Liana smirked. "Because you did."
Fenric groaned into his food.
Tomorrow... his real training would begin.
The next morning came faster than Fenric wanted.
He woke up to loud knocking on his door.
BANG BANG BANG
"Fenric! Get up!" Liana shouted. "Chief Seraphina is waiting!"
Fenric shot upright.
"...Already?! It’s barely sunrise!"
Spunky barked and jumped off the bed, excited.
Fenric hurried to get dressed and rushed outside. The cool morning air stung his face, and the training grounds were already busy with villagers preparing for the day.
Seraphina stood in the middle of the field, arms crossed, looking completely awake and serious.
Fenric gulped.
Liana whispered as she passed by him, "Good luck. Try not to die."
"Thanks," Fenric muttered. "Very encouraging."
Seraphina looked at him.
"You’re late."
Fenric stiffened. "I—I woke up just now—"
"No excuses," she said. "Training starts exactly at sunrise. Keep that in mind."
Fenric nodded quickly. "Yes, Chief!"
Seraphina pointed at an open space on the ground.
"First, let’s test your basics. I need to know how strong you are without magic."
Fenric blinked. "...Without magic? Why?"
"Because if you can’t fight without relying on your class," she said, "you’ll die the moment someone seals your magic."
Fenric froze.
"...People can do that?"
"Yes," she replied. "And that’s why you start from the bottom."
She stepped back and motioned toward him.
"Show me your stance. Bow or no bow, I need to see how you move."
Fenric took a deep breath and got into what he thought was a fighting stance.
Seraphina stared at him for three seconds.
"...You look like a confused duck."
Fenric’s eye twitched. "Hey—"
"Fix your footing." She walked over and tapped his leg with a stick. "Wider stance. Drop your shoulders. Don’t stick your butt out."
"I’m not—"
SMACK
She lightly hit his shoulder with the stick. "Straighten up."
"Okay, okay! I’m straight!"
"Now draw your bow."
Fenric pulled out his wooden training bow.
"And fire."
He shot an arrow toward the target.
It hit the mark
Seraphina nodded " It seems you really have good talent in Archery" She praised him.
Seraphina nodded once, arms still folded."Good form. Better than I expected on your first day."
Fenric grinned proudly. "See? Maybe I’m a natural!"
SMACK
She tapped the back of his head with the stick.
"Ow—what was that for?!"
"Don’t get cocky," Seraphina said calmly. "One good shot means nothing. Consistency is what matters."
Liana, sitting on the fence, snorted. "She means you got lucky."
Fenric pointed at the target. "That was skill!"
"Shoot again," Seraphina ordered.
Fenric took a breath, nocked another arrow, and fired.
THUNK
The arrow struck the target again — a little off-center, but still a clean hit.
