CHAPTER 583: SOMETHING STRONGER THAN A DRAGON

"Are we sure it’s this way?"

"No doubt about it!"

Lucy was currently enjoying treatment similar to Wendy’s earlier, being carried by Rhodes as he flew through the sky.

After dealing with Kain Hikaru and a group of Grimoire Heart soldiers there, Rhodes planned to quickly take them and Gajeel back to the camp.

But Lucy suddenly said she felt Loke was in danger. Feelings like that are mysterious, but Rhodes believed her.

Perhaps there truly was some wonderful connection between Lucy and the Celestial Spirits?

So he left Brambleback, Blue Sentinel, and a bunch of other monsters to guard Wendy and Gajeel, while he carried Lucy and flew over.

Lucy had some complaints about being carried like a sack, but with the situation urgent, she had no choice.

By the time the two flew above their destination, Rustyrose had already left. A hunter was aiming an arrow at Loke, and five fully armored warriors surrounded him from behind.

Capricorn extended his hands, preparing to cast a spell.

Only then did Loke understand the enemy’s true identity. "You... you’re not Capricorn, but a human who has merged with Capricorn?!"

"You’re too late, Leo!" Capricorn laughed loudly. "Now, your body is mine!"

Loke clenched his fists, golden light emanating from his hands. He struggled, preparing for a desperate fight, not for himself, but for Capricorn and his fallen comrades.

If he escaped back to the Star Spirit World now, his companions would likely be enslaved by the enemy’s magic, so he absolutely could not flee.

However, in his current state, surrounded as he was, helping Capricorn recover seemed incredibly difficult.

Just as the two were at a standoff, Capricorn suddenly heard the sound of wind above him, along with a sharp female soprano.

Capricorn looked up and saw a blonde girl falling from high in the sky, and a fist growing larger in his vision at an even faster speed.

"Ahhh!!!"

"Lucy?!" Loke immediately recognized the girl falling from the sky.

Bang!

Rhodes punched Capricorn’s sunglasses, sending him sprawling to the ground.

The sensation wasn’t quite right.

Rhodes found it strange, but had no time to think further. He immediately caught Lucy to cushion her fall.

Samael saw his master being beaten and fired three consecutive arrows at Rhodes.

Rhodes opened his mouth and spewed out gusts of wind blades, splitting all the arrows in half and sending Samael flying.

Then he spun in the air and flung Lucy out.

"Ahhh!" Lucy screamed a few times, but still cooperated with her attack. "Lucy Kick!"

She kicked away a full-armored warrior, and as soon as she landed, she pulled out her whip. "Star River!"

The golden-blue long whip struck down the other warriors with a few snaps. Lucy faced Capricorn, her back to Loke, and asked, "Loke, how are you?"

Loke had to admit he was impressed by Lucy’s two moves just now, but without time for praise, he immediately said, "Why are you here? Run! That guy’s magic..."

Rhodes interrupted Loke. "Is he responsible for all of it?"

Loke paused, then realized Rhodes was referring to Elfman and Gray.

"No, he has another companion." Loke quickly summarized the enemy’s intelligence.

If it weren’t for Capricorn’s Human Subordination Magic suppressing everyone, even if that person named Rustyrose was strong, they absolutely would not have lost so badly.

"I see." Rhodes’s expression was grim as he asked, "I remember, Celestial Spirits don’t die even if they suffer fatal injuries in the human world, right?"

"That’s correct." Loke had already stood up with Lucy’s help. "But his magic is the bane of human magicians. Fighting him like this would be very disadvantageous for you, so let me..."

Before he finished speaking, Capricorn got up, and Rhodes dispelled his Take Over Magic, returning to his original form.

Then, a giant red dragon suddenly appeared.

The already hot weather on the island seemed to have risen by several degrees all at once.

Human Subordination Magic was indeed powerful; Rhodes clearly felt that summoning the Dragon this time was very strenuous and could not be maintained for too long.

But it was enough.

"Wha... why is there..." Capricorn was dumbfounded.

The Purgatory Dragon also seemed to be very clear about the current situation, so it wasted no time and unleashed a breath attack on Capricorn.

Whoosh! Boom! The tall and thin goat-man was just a tiny speck in front of the Dragon, instantly engulfed in a torrent of fire and lava.

The ensuing explosion covered his screams.

A large section of the forest turned into a sea of fire, and Rhodes felt his magic power instantly return to normal levels.

"What astonishing destructive power... Caprico..." Loke looked into the sea of fire, only to see a person emerge from Capricorn’s body.

Amidst the raging flames, Capricorn’s body seemed to have reached its limit and was forcibly sent back to the Star Spirit World.

"Ahhh!!!"

And the person who separated from his body could only scream in agony within the sea of fire, then dissipated and vanished like a bubble.

Not melted by the flames, but self-dissipated.

This was probably the consequence of touching a forbidden art.

"Fairy Strategist!"

Rhodes was about to ask about Loke’s physical condition when he suddenly heard someone call his nickname.

Rustyrose covered his right hand over his forehead, leaning back slightly, laughing almost morbidly.

"I finally found you! I’ve waited for this day for too long, haha, hahaha... the Devil’s revenge on the Fairy begins now!"

"Come out, my Guardian Beasts!"

Four Guardian Sacred Beasts that Rustyrose had imagined appeared in front of him, followed by a huge monster highly similar to a Rift Herald.

Lucy trembled, clearly taking Rustyrose for a Summoner, and a powerful Summoner Magician at that, like Rhodes, who could summon multiple monsters at will.

The Purgatory Dragon turned its head to look at Rustyrose, then at Rhodes. "Brother, what is that thing? It looks so familiar?"

Rhodes also looked at the Demon Herald curiously and replied, "It’s a knock-off. How about you take care of it while you’re at it?"

"Alright."

The Purgatory Dragon didn’t even spread its wings. It took a small hop like a sparrow on the ground, soaring over the heads of the Fairy Tail members, and directly stomped the fake Rift Herald to death.

Then, with a flick of its tail, it instantly annihilated all four of Rustyrose’s Guardian Sacred Beasts.

Rustyrose stared blankly at the enormous creature before him, somewhat at a loss.

Actually, his prosthetic arm was a magic tool through which he could cast a powerful defensive spell.

But his mind was a mess right now, and he was almost forgetting how to activate it.

"Roar!!!"

The Dragon opened its mouth and roared at the foolish boy in front of it. Hot air and a foul stench hit Rustyrose’s face, startling him awake.

"Right! I haven’t lost yet, I still have Arc of Embodiment!" Rustyrose jumped back a step. "Imagine... I must imagine something more powerful than a Dragon to defeat it! Imagine..."

Rustyrose’s expression went from fear to hope, then to blankness.

He couldn’t imagine anything.

He felt his mind was blank; his imagination, creativity, and even basic thinking ability, everything seemed to have abandoned him.

His eyes rolled back, and his body slumped to the ground.
