Fairy Tail: You Call This Celestial Spirit Magic?!
Chapter 77 77
"That's not a dragon egg," Carla said, looking at the egg before them.
Natsu immediately pulled the egg back into his arms, eyeing the white cat warily, almost baring his teeth.
"The cat's right, Natsu," Makarov chimed in from his seat at the bar before Natsu could even react.
Makarov had been waiting for the right moment to reveal the truth and now was the perfect opportunity.
"Huh?!" Natsu was stunned, staring at Makarov in disbelief.
'Crack! Crack! Crack!'
But before Natsu could throw a fit, the egg began to tremble violently, its shell starting to split apart.
"It's hatching," Marco murmured, watching the egg intently.
He already had a premonition.
'Crack! Crack! Crack!'
As the egg continued to crack, everyone gathered around in anticipation.
For days, Natsu had carried this egg everywhere, never letting it out of his sight.
The entire guild had grown familiar with it—many had even held or touched it.
Everyone was curious about what would hatch from it.
As for it being a dragon? Hardly anyone believed that.
"Whoosh!"
As the shell shattered, a small blue orb of light floated up towards the ceiling.
"Wow!" The crowd gasped in amazement.
The orb wasn't large—clearly a tiny creature, about half the size of the egg itself.
As the light faded, a blue cat with wings emerged.
"A CAT?!"
The result left everyone stunned.
Except for Carla and Marco, the entire guild stood there with their mouths agape.
After all, who could have guessed that a cat would hatch from the egg?
Was that even possible?
"It has wings!" Natsu, who had initially been disappointed that it wasn't a dragon, perked up immediately upon seeing the winged cat.
He watched curiously as the little creature fluttered in the air.
"It's a blue cat!" Under everyone's gaze, the small blue cat wobbled unsteadily before landing right on Natsu's head.
Its size was just right—fitting perfectly atop his head.
"Aye!" The kitten's white wings vanished as it sat up and let out a cry—not a typical "meow," but a cheerful Aye!
The adorable sight melted everyone's hearts, and the guild members crowded around, eager to hold it.
"This little thing is just too cute~" The adults in the guild squeezed forward, reaching out to pet and fuss over it.
This newly hatched life, witnessed by everyone together, seemed to hold a special significance that captivated them all.
"Hey, doesn't it kinda look like Carla?" someone pointed out.
Indeed, the blue cat bore a striking resemblance to Carla—most likely they're from the same species.
"Carla, is he the same kind as you?" Wendy asked curiously, turning to Carla.
When Wendy had first met Carla, she was already in her current form, so she had no idea if Carla had hatched from an egg too.
"Yes..." Carla spoke with a helpless expression.
Though she was reluctant to admit this stupid looking cat was from the same race as her, the fact was undeniable.
"How wonderful! Now Carla has a playmate!" Wendy said cheerfully, completely oblivious to Carla's disdain for the tomcat.
"I don't need that kind of playmate. He looks like an idiot," Carla muttered under her breath.
She genuinely thought the tomcat was quite foolish.
She had understood many things since birth, while this guy seemed stupidly obsessed with nothing but 'aye'.
"Let's give him a name."
Watching everyone harmoniously crowding around to see the cat, Marco smiled and made the suggestion, which was immediately met with enthusiastic support.
The guild members began brainstorming names, each more outlandish than the last.
"How about Blue Cat?"
"Why not just call him Cat?"
"What about Tom?"
"Or Blue Dragon? Natsu always hoped it'd be a dragon, right?"
The suggestions were all over the place, none of them particularly sensible.
"Ahem, how about Happy?"
Seeing the names getting increasingly bizarre, Marco quickly interjected.
Happy's name should'nt be changed.
Looking at the little blue cat still sleeping with its eyes closed, Marco decided to honor the original and keep the name Happy.
"Happy?"
The group was puzzled, unsure why Marco had suddenly proposed this name.
"Because his birth has brought everyone joy. So why not call him Happy? It sounds cheerful too." Marco blinked, offering his reasoning.
Thankfully, his infinitely wise brain came up with a plausible explanation—otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to steer the conversation this way.
"Aye!"
Before anyone could react, Happy, who had been quiet until now, let out a cry, as if approving of Marco's suggestion.
"Great! Then it's settled—Happy! Happiness and joy!"
Seeing Happy's agreement, Natsu immediately confirmed the name.
As the one who found the egg and hatched it, Natsu naturally had the right to name the cat.
If he disagreed, no one could force another name on it.
"Happy! Happy! It's a dragon's Happy!"
Natsu lifted Happy high, cheering excitedly, while Happy kept chiming in with 'Aye!'.
The scene was heartwarming and full of camaraderie.
Reedus, wearing his wizard hat, held a sketchpad and brush, capturing the beautiful moment—though his drawing took some artistic liberties.
Happy, held aloft by Natsu, was depicted as a small blue dragon, while Natsu rode atop the fierce-looking creature.
"Not bad. At least it helps fulfill Natsu's dream," Marco remarked as he stood beside Reedus.
"Artistic embellishment is normal in drawings," Reedus chuckled.
With his curly hair and wizard hat, he exuded a distinctly artistic vibe.
No longer using magic, he had returned to his slender frame, looking far more natural than his inflated, chubby form.
Marco examined the sketch closely.
Everyone was in the picture, each wearing a smile.
Well, except for Laxus.
Even in Reedus's artwork, Laxus wore his usual stoic expression, seemingly uninterested in the whole affair.
"Next time, remember to draw him with a smile, Reedus," Marco said, pointing at Laxus in the corner of the sketch.
Everyone else was grinning—only Laxus stood there stone-faced, making him look like an outsider.
"Uh... wouldn't that be taking artistic license too far?" Reedus hesitated.
"..."
Marco was speechless, staring at Reedus in disbelief.
Was he serious?
Drawing a smile on Laxus's face was more exaggerated than turning Happy into a blue dragon?
