CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 32: SWITCHING LIVES (1)

Zhou Huaiyi finished her meal and was tidying up the meal boxes when the doorbell suddenly rang. She paused, wiped her hands with a tissue, and walked over to open the door.

The door was pulled open, and Xiang Qichen glanced at her, reaching out to register his fingerprint on the door lock.

Zhou Huaiyi: "Hi~ you’re back."

Xiang Qichen: "..."

Why does it feel like welcoming a husband home for some reason...

Taking advantage of the moment while Xiang Qichen was registering his fingerprint, Zhou Huaiyi went back to the dining table to clean up the leftover meal boxes.

Xiang Qichen closed the door and went straight to the bathroom to wash his face. When he looked up and saw the face in the mirror that didn’t belong to him, he sighed helplessly again.

Zhou Huaiyi organized everything and sat on the sofa, crossing her legs. Her eyes followed Xiang Qichen’s moving figure. She coughed lightly and spoke with some difficulty, "Um, tomorrow is Tuesday, I have a class in my department, I can’t skip it..."

Xiang Qichen sat down across from her, looking directly at her, and said, "Based on the situation these past two days, I am not expecting us to switch back tomorrow. Let’s take it one step at a time."

Zhou Huaiyi nodded, waiting for him to continue.

Xiang Qichen: "Tomorrow, I have a flight to H City to join the crew at a bit after eight in the morning. To be precise, it’s now you. I will attend your school classes to avoid conflicts. We’ll switch our phones back; you use mine, and I’ll use yours. Also, how many classes do you have a week?"

Zhou Huaiyi: "Just two, Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. However, after October, we should be preparing for the course project filming..."

Xiang Qichen thought for a moment: "How about this, since you haven’t started filming projects yet, I’ll fly to H City every Wednesday afternoon to see you and return on Monday afternoon to attend your class for you. You don’t know how to act and are unfamiliar with the script. This is the only way."

Zhou Huaiyi was thunderstruck: "What? I really have to act for you?"

Xiang Qichen suddenly curved his lips into a mocking smile and said, unexpectedly, "Now I really have to use you as a double."

Zhou Huaiyi was taken aback and quickly said, realizing what he meant, "It’s still your face, after all! Don’t worry, I’ll definitely act well for you!"

Xiang Qichen smiled appreciatively and somehow produced a thick stack of scripts, saying smoothly, "Let’s start by studying the script."

Zhou Huaiyi: "..."

At that moment, it felt like jumping into a den of dragons and tigers.

,

That night, Zhou Huaiyi slept in the guest room.

After over ten hours of intense training by Xiang Qichen, Zhou Huaiyi reached the point where she couldn’t stop thinking about lines even with her eyes closed.

She lay on her back in bed, zoning out for a bit, then suddenly thought of something. She got out of bed, walked out of the guest room, and knocked on the door of Xiang Qichen’s room.

After a short while, the door was opened. Xiang Qichen had just finished showering, and Zhou Huaiyi looked at the long hair dripping water in front of her, inexplicably blushing.

Once again seen naked by the male god...

Xiang Qichen, seeing her expression, naturally understood what she was thinking. He shyly averted his eyes, pretending to stay calm while continuing to wipe his hair, "What’s up?"

Zhou Huaiyi looked over her fair legs and mumbled slightly off-topic, "I didn’t realize I have quite a nice figure."

Xiang Qichen: "..."

Zhou Huaiyi lowered her eyes and smiled at him, "Um, I need to let you know about my roommates."

Xiang Qichen opened the door wider, "Come in and talk."

Zhou Huaiyi took small steps to follow inside. In front of her, Xiang Qichen suddenly turned back, glaring at her tiptoeing stance, and sternly said, "Walk properly."

Zhou Huaiyi stuck out her tongue and stood firmly on her heels, "...Sorry, it’s a habit."

Sitting back on the bed, Xiang Qichen pulled out a cardholder from the drawer and tossed it in front of her, saying, "Inside are my ID and driver’s license. Keep them safe. Also, do you have a driver’s license?"

Zhou Huaiyi nodded, "Yes, it’s in the bag you carried today, along with my wallet and ID."

"Then that’s easy to handle." Xiang Qichen put down the towel, "Go ahead."

...

It was late at night, and the cool breeze of early autumn was chilly, seeming desolate and dreary. What lies ahead for them is uncertain.
