CHAPTER 83: CHAPTER 82: THEIR IDOL (3)

"Don’t you have an idol too?" Liu Yang implied.

Zhou Huaiyi glanced over: "Xiang Qichen?"

Hearing his own name, the person in question who was about to push the door open paused, slowly withdrawing his hand from the doorknob, his eyes lowered, waiting expectantly for her to continue.

Liu Yang: "Yeah."

Unexpectedly, Zhou Huaiyi replied without hesitation: "No, he’s not my idol."

Upon hearing this, Xiang Qichen, who was outside, had the smile on his lips instantly drop, his brows furrowed, and he turned to walk away.

The two people inside the lounge were completely oblivious, Liu Yang was quite surprised: "Really not? I thought you liked him so much."

Zhou Huaiyi made a funny face and laughed: "My idol is the violin maestro, Fu Weiheng."

But Xiang Qichen, he’s the one I like.

She silently added in her heart.

Liu Yang nodded knowingly and continued to adjust the machine.

The phone buzzed, just as Zhou Huaiyi finished packing two microphones. She took it out for a look, and on the WeChat screen lay two simple words: [Xiang: Come over.]

Zhou Huaiyi quickly put down the microphone: "Senior brother, Qichen is calling me out, you keep busy."

Liu Yang: "Alright, you go ahead, I can handle the rest."

Zhou Huaiyi responded and hurriedly pulled the door to leave.

Liu Yang watched Zhou Huaiyi’s hurried back and sighed meaningfully, muttering to himself: "It’s so nice, I want to fall in love too..."

,

When she arrived at the outdoor shooting location, Zhou Huaiyi immediately spotted Xiang Qichen wrapped in a long down jacket over his costume, sitting in front of the hall, reading a script while waiting for his scene.

Zhou Huaiyi tightened the collar of her coat, walked over slowly, and only realized upon getting closer that Xiang Qichen’s face didn’t look quite right.

He looked gloomy, with a frown on his face, a capitalized "unhappy."

Zhou Huaiyi tilted her head, furrowed her brows, and wore a questioning face: What’s wrong?

"Qichen." She approached and called out, "I’m here, is there something you need me to do?"

Xiang Qichen didn’t even lift his head and gave a simple "Mm": "Sit down."

His tone was cool and indifferent, which made Zhou Huaiyi suddenly a bit uneasy: "..."

So she quietly shut her mouth and obediently sat down.

The crew around them was bustling, running back and forth within the set, Li Wei and Zhang Yuan were rehearsing their lines in the distant courtyard, and the director sat in front of the camera, looking serious and focused.

Except around her and Xiang Qichen, the low pressure made everyone afraid to speak.

Just then, Zhou Huaiyi’s phone rang, and she cautiously glanced sideways at Xiang Qichen next to her...

Then she took out her phone, and the caller ID showed: Old Zhou.

Zhou Huaiyi answered, covering her mouth and lowering her voice: "Hey, Dad."

Old Zhou seemed to be in a particularly good mood: "My daughter, have you eaten yet?"

Zhou Huaiyi glanced at the time: "...Dad, it’s only 10:30."

Old Zhou chuckled a couple of times, not caring at all, and went straight to the point: "Zhou Huaiyi, I read the news a few days ago saying that your what’s-his-name Xiang has a girlfriend now?"

Zhou Huaiyi couldn’t help but laugh: Dad, that was half a month ago, it’s been clarified since then...

"And they say his girlfriend is his assistant!" Old Zhou’s tone was sing-song, "Oh dear, daughter, you must be heartbroken, right?"

Zhou Huaiyi laughed, put on a smile: "Yeah, Dad, I’m so heartbroken."

Inside, she grumbled: Seriously, my own father couldn’t even recognize that the female lead is his own daughter whom he’s raised for over twenty years? And what’s with Old Zhou’s gloating tone? Is he really happy over his own daughter’s sadness!

"If you’re heartbroken, just forget him, out with the old and in with the new." Old Zhou was quite satisfied, "A friend of mine has a son, tall and quite good-looking, just a few years older, but I think you two would be a match!"

What nonsense! She’s not even graduated from college yet and they want to set her up for blind dates?

Zhou Huaiyi rolled her eyes: "Hold it, Dad, I’m only 23, I’ve got plenty of good years ahead, can you not push me into the grave of marriage so soon?"

Xiang Qichen, sitting to the side absent-mindedly, straightened up immediately and perked up his ears upon hearing the term "Marriage grave."

Zhou Huaiyi knew she couldn’t win against Old Zhou, so she seized the gap right after his rambling to make an excuse to hang up.

Xiang Qichen quietly withdrew his thoughts, fixing his gaze back on the script, and then heard Zhou Huaiyi murmuring to herself in dissatisfaction as she put away her phone: "Wanting me to go on a blind date so early, are they afraid I won’t get married in the future! Hmph!"

Xiang Qichen’s hand holding the script stiffened.

Blind... date?
