His thin lips twitched slightly but he finally obliged by taking a bite.

Chewing on the beef, Jiang Ruan’s voice sounded again by his ear: "How is it? I’m not lying to you, right? Isn’t it delicious?"

Bao Ye lifted his eyes; Jiang Ruan looked at him eagerly with her bright eyes, both still wearing their annual banquet dresses.

She truly suited the sapphire blue dress.

It complemented her snow-white, translucent skin.

Just looking at her makes one feel a criminal desire.

The man’s sexy Adam’s apple inadvertently rolled as his deep, husky voice sounded, "Mm, it’s indeed good."

As the words landed, another piece of pineapple was placed into his plate.

Jiang Ruan spoke enthusiastically, "This is also very tasty and can supplement vitamin C. For someone like you who spends a lot of time in an office, you should eat more fruit-based dishes; it’s good for your health."

Jiang Ruan huffed, "Then I won’t talk anymore."

After saying that, she buried her head in eating, ignoring whatever expression was on his face.

Bao Ye smiled in exasperation, putting down his chopsticks, and reached out pretending to pinch her right cheek, "You’ve got quite the temper."

Jiang Ruan pretended to feel pain, raising her head, pouting, and covering her face, "Why did you pinch me?"

"Stop pretending," Bao Ye said blandly, "I didn’t use any strength."

"But I feel it hurts so much."

Jiang Ruan feigned exaggeration, coquettishly replied.

Bao Ye was amused by her, "Then what should I do, shall I rub it for you?"

As he said this, he glanced around the room, his eyes smiling as he said to her, "Anywhere else hurting? Do you want to go to the bedroom for a thorough check?"

The meaning behind his words carried layers.

Having mingled around outside for some years, Jiang Ruan could tell what he meant. She blushed, glared at him, and softly scolded, "Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking. Just forget about it."

Bao Ye just chuckled, saying nothing.

Clearly, she was the one flirting with him, yet somehow it made him seem unworthy.

But then again, if he had no reaction to her teasing, that would be impossible, unless he was not a man.

"But thanks for today," Jiang Ruan looked at him earnestly and said, "If it weren’t for you showing up just in time, I genuinely wouldn’t know what to do."

"Even if I didn’t fall down the stairs, I’d certainly embarrass myself."

Jiang Ruan stuck her tongue out, "There were so many reporters tonight; just thinking about it is embarrassing."
