Chapter 344 - 324: Not Good, Really Not Good
CHAPTER 344: CHAPTER 324: NOT GOOD, REALLY NOT GOOD
After a wild night with Bao Ye, Jiang Ruan woke up the next day to find it already dark outside.
Opening her eyes, the bedroom was dimly lit, and Jiang Ruan struggled to sit up, seeing Bao Ye seated on the sofa not far away, working on his laptop.
As if he heard the rustling, the man glanced over with a smile, "Awake?"
Jiang Ruan spoke, her voice hoarse. She cleared her throat, still uncomfortable, "What time is it?"
Bao Ye frowned and put down his laptop, standing up to bring her a cup of water.
"Drink a bit, it’ll soothe your throat."
Jiang Ruan took it, sipping some warm water, her throat felt much better.
"Thanks, what time is it now?"
Jiang Ruan glanced toward the floor-to-ceiling window, it was pitch-black outside.
"Did I just sleep for a while?"
Just waking up, Jiang Ruan’s brain was still in a fog.
But then she saw Bao Ye placing the cup on the bedside table, teasingly saying, "Tsk, a while?"
"You’ve slept for sixteen hours; only a few hours remain before you sleep through New Year."
"If you didn’t wake up soon, I would’ve called the doctor to check on you."
He stood by the window, one hand in his pocket.
He wasn’t wearing clothes but a hotel-style robe, his gaze falling on her white snowy shoulder under the thin quilt, even seeing red marks.
The man’s eyes darkened slightly, his lips maintaining a faint smile.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ruan was shocked, "Sixteen hours?"
"How did I sleep for so long?"
Bao Ye: "Maybe you were just too tired."
He chuckled lightly, "How was this New Year’s Eve for you?"
Jiang Ruan: "..."
Her face flushed as she glared at him, biting her lip, "Not good, really not good."
"Who cries on New Year’s Eve?"
Bao Ye licked his lips, innocent, "Tsk."
"I didn’t make you cry."
Jiang Ruan rolled her eyes speechlessly, "You didn’t, but you did it on purpose."
"Where are my clothes?"
Jiang Ruan was too lazy to argue with him; she knew him too well.
Poor old waist of hers.
Bao Ye pointed to the trash bin, "Ruined, threw it away."
Jiang Ruan suddenly remembered that she had torn the skirt last night because she found it cumbersome...
"Bao Ye!" Jiang Ruan’s anger started to build up, gritting her teeth, "That was the first time I wore that dress."
Bao Ye calmly, "I’ll buy you another."
Jiang Ruan: "It’s not about buying; I bought it myself."
Bao Ye licked his lips, "I’ll buy another one."
Jiang Ruan: "It’s probably sold out now."
"Then we’ll have it custom-made," Bao Ye said, "I’ll draw a sketch for the designer later."
He sneered, "Since I know what it looks like, as long as there’s a sketch, there’s nothing to worry about."
Jiang Ruan: "..."
Utterly convinced.
Eventually, she settled for wearing the robe, and Bao Ye had someone bring clothes over.
Bao Ye was working outside, and Jiang Ruan was in the bathroom taking a shower.
Suddenly, Jiang Ruan’s voice called out, "Ah!"
Bao Ye’s expression changed drastically, he dropped his laptop and hurried toward the bathroom, the door was locked, he gripped the door handle with a worried frown, "Jiang Ruan?"
"Are you alright?"
"I’m fine," Jiang Ruan said, still shaken, "I slipped a bit, almost fell, scared me a lot."
"Luckily, I managed to grab the wall."
Bao Ye said, "Open the door, let me take a look."
Jiang Ruan stared at the door, "No way."
"I’m not dressed."
Bao Ye sneered, "It’s not like I haven’t seen it, come open the door."
"Let me see if you’re hurt."
With a brazen attitude.
Jiang Ruan was firm, "I’m not opening it."
"I’m really fine. Go back to work, Bao Ye."
With these words, the noise at the door disappeared.
Two minutes passed, still no sound from him.
Jiang Ruan blinked.
Is he angry???
Did he leave???
She relaxed slightly.
