Chapter 351: Warnings
CHAPTER 351: WARNINGS
Shen Xu casually checked the storage ring, and his eyes narrowed.
The ring contained thirty-three trillion mid-grade spirit stones, countless materials, and even a few treasure boxes.
"Our tokens and answers weren’t worth this much." The double said, and Jingyu chuckled.
"I know." She said but didn’t explain.
Seeing this, Shen Xu nodded and put away the storage ring.
"Thank you." He said.
"It’s what I should do."
After saying that, Jingyu looked at everyone with a solemn expression.
"It’s time." She said, but Zhen Yuan suddenly interrupted.
"Xiaoxu, contract two level nine puppets and let them take care of the ship and our guests." He said, and Shen Xu nodded, but suddenly frowned.
"My soul power is only at the peak stage of level seven. Can I contract the puppets?" He asked, and Jingyu rolled her eyes.
"The lowest level for this ship is level nine. Weren’t you able to leave a soul mark on it?" She asked, and after thinking about it, the double nodded.
"You are right." He said, took out two puppets and easily left a soul mark on each.
"Your father made arrangements so that you can contract the ship and puppets even if your soul power is not enough. However, don’t think about contracting the immortal puppets until you ascend to the immortal realm." Jingyu informed.
"Got it." The double nodded.
After successfully contracting the puppets, Shen Xu gave one the space pendant necklace and asked him to keep it safe.
Following that, the puppets left the private sitting room; one heading to the navigation room and the other to handle Dongfang Jing, Chen Yi, Zhang Ji, and Zhang Ji’s wife.
"You must be more careful when you arrive in the higher realms. Don’t let an outsider discover your space." Jingyu reminded with a solemn expression.
Shen Xu narrowed his eyes when he heard this.
However, he soon sighed and reluctantly accepted that Jingyu seemed to know everything about them.
"Don’t worry, we will be very careful." The double said, but suddenly thought of something and looked at Jingyu with questioning eyes.
"Jingyu, can you give me a drawing of my father?" He asked, and Jingyu fell into thought before nodding.
A moment later, she waved her hand and an image stone appeared on her right palm.
Soon after, a stream of light entered the image stone, and blurry pictures appeared within.
"You will be able to see them clearly when the time is right." Jingyu said, and Shen Xu nodded before putting the image stone away.
"Thank you, Jingyu."
"Don’t mention it." Jingyu said and quickly continued.
"One last thing..." She started and only continued after gaining everyone’s attention.
"The Xuanwu secret realm is the only place in the cultivation world that a person can steal another cultivator’s fate without facing any consequences. You must be careful and never give anyone a chance to steal your fate."
"Steal fate?" Shen Xu and the others, including Feng Xue, were shocked.
After all, Shen Xu had read the book and even received information from Dongfang Jing and Chen Yi, but he had never heard such a thing about the Xuanwu secret realm.
"I was in the Tianxuan sect for almost one hundred thousand years. How come I don’t know about this?" Feng Xue asked in a shocked voice.
"It’s not the kind of thing that ordinary cultivators would know. Only old families and sects know these secrets."
"By stealing..." Zhen Yuan started, his eyes narrowed into slits.
"Does stealing fate involve killing a person, or is it grasping another cultivator’s star of immortality?" He asked, and Jingyu nodded in appreciation.
"It’s grasping another cultivator’s star of immortality." She said and began explaining.
"It’s ordinarily impossible to grasp another cultivator’s star of immortality. However, an ancient expert came up with the resonance technique, which makes the impossible possible."
"The resonance technique? What is it?" Shen Xu asked.
"It’s a technique that binds two people, allowing them to temporarily share fate. As a result, the thief is able to resonate with the other person’s star of immortality and grasp it. Grasping the star of immortality changes the thief’s fate and future."
"What about the person whose fate was stolen? Can they grasp the thief’s star of immortality?" Yang Shi asked, and Jingyu sighed before she began talking.
"You have to understand that no one would choose this method if they originally had a good fate. Most of those who do this are evil cultivators who worry they can’t survive the ascension tribulation, old monsters who are at the end of their lifespan, or ambitious cultivators with limited talent. In the end, even if the person who was robbed grasps the thief’s star of immortality, their chance of ascension is close to zero."
"What a mess?!" Shen Xu exclaimed, and the others nodded in agreement.
"Is there a way to know that someone is using the resonance technique on you?" Zhen Yuan asked, but Jingyu shook her head.
"The resonance technique is a forbidden technique, mainly because it’s impossible to know when a person is using it on you. That said, establishing resonance between two cultivators is not a simple matter of choosing a person and using the technique."
"What do you mean?"
"The two cultivators must have a relationship that is recognised by the way of heaven. It could be a blood relationship, a relationship through adoption, a sworn brotherhood or sisterhood, a master-disciple relationship, a Taoist companion relationship, and such."
"Additionally, the relationship must have existed for not less than ten thousand years. Otherwise, the resonance will not settle."
Everyone fell silent when they heard this.
At the same time, they realised that the world was even more dangerous than they knew.
"You don’t need to worry too much." Jingyu said and quickly continued.
"You will be fine as long as you don’t carelessly form binding relationships."
"We know." Shen Xu said.
Hearing this, Jingyu smiled and, without saying another word, she transformed into a mirror and floated to the centre of the room.
The mirror was oval, and was one metre tall at its longest part and half a metre wide at its widest part. It had an ornate black frame with purple runes etched on it and a silver reflective surface.
At a glance, the mirror looked extremely beautiful, but mostly profound and powerful.
