Falling in Love With My Arranged-Marriage Husband
Chapter 329: 303: I Know My Limits
Chapter 329: Chapter 303: I Know My Limits
Fu Yisi was not aware of how much surprise his arrival had caused among the employees in the building, nor did he consider such matters. In the elevator, the secretary observed Fu Yisi closely.
He had also been fighting alongside Fu Jue for more than a decade. The more he looked at Fu Yisi, the more he found the father and son resembled each other, especially around the eyes and brows. Yet their auras were entirely different.
Fu Jue was strict and serious, while Fu Yisi was detached and indifferent.
Though completely different, he was surprised to find that Fu Yisi’s presence seemed not at all less intimidating than that of the Chairman, even in such casual attire.
The secretary slightly lowered his eyes, suppressing his shock.
If Fu Yisi truly returned to assist the Fu Family, it would undoubtedly lead to significant waves.
Whether within the Fu Family itself, or within the business circles of S city.
Fu Jue had received the news when Fu Yisi entered the elevator and asked the person coming in to report to leave. Then, he stood up and began pacing behind his desk.
He started with a stern face, but gradually he began to lose control, and the corners of his mouth started to curl upwards.
“Cough cough.”
Fu Jue coughed lightly into his fist at his mouth, walked over to the sofa, looked at the tea set on the table, and sat down to fiddle with it.
Fu Jue liked tea and had spent time learning about tea culture. Naturally, he knew the biggest distraction when brewing tea was to be unfocused. However, our renowned Chairman of the Fu Family had spilled the tea water over the table surface, occasionally glancing at the office door.
It was no wonder that Fu Jue was excited.
He had been looking forward to Fu Yisi coming back to help the Fu Family for many, many years.
As long as he returned, he could gradually relinquish his burdens and spend more time with his family, accompanying his wife.
Fu Jue thought of this, and his smiling lips were unstoppable.
So much so that when the office door was opened, he still sat there, tea kettle in hand, lips drawn into a smile.
Where was the usual Chairman Fu?
As soon as the secretary entered, he saw the smile on Fu Jue’s face. Indeed, the thing the Chairman was most delighted to see was the young master coming to the company.
Fu Jue seemed to notice his demeanor wasn’t quite as serious as usual, reined in his smile, and looked at the secretary straight-faced.
“Ren Shu, you may leave now.”
The secretary nodded and left.
Fu Yisi looked at the table wetted by tea, raised an eyebrow, sat down, and took out a paper towel to wipe it.
“Is the matter with the Yi Family that troubling?”
“Hm?”
Fu Jue did not understand what Fu Yisi meant.
Fu Yisi threw the dirtied paper towel into the waste bin, then wiped his hands again.
“You’ve never slipped up while making tea before.”
Fu Jue quickly looked down at the teapot in his hands.
“It’s not about the Yi Family, but rather you, why did you come today?”
He didn’t believe that this young man had just stopped by on a whim.
In more than a decade, just this once passed by?
Fu Yisi was never one to dawdle; he pulled a USB flash drive out of his pocket.
“This contains the personal information of a few key managers from the Tianxin Orphanage back then.”
Fu Jue stopped brewing tea right then.
“Those people from the Tianxin Orphanage?”
Fu Yisi nodded faintly.
Fu Jue took it with a frown,
“How did you find out?”
After finding out about the Tianxin Orphanage, he had spent a lot of manpower and resources trying to find those few people managing the orphanage, yet without any progress. How did Fu Yisi manage to do it?
Fu Yisi did not answer this question but instead shared his own speculation.
“The Yi Group has only started to go legit in the last few years; they surely haven’t had time to replace all of their staff. You can investigate the employees of his company and subsidiaries to see if anyone was involved with the orphanage’s affairs back then. You also need to check out those who have been let go or retired.”
Fu Jue’s brow furrowed even tighter.
“It’s not that easy, even if we find them, it’ll be hard to pry the truth of what happened from their mouths.”
Yi Zheng will certainly have a way to silence people.
Fu Yisi, however, suddenly smiled a little.
“You said that the recent projects acquired by the Yi Group all seem a bit fishy, right?”
“Are you implying that these projects might be linked to the same people who were responsible for the Yi Family orphanage project back then?”
“It’s just a speculation.”
For such a large group to launder their reputation from black to white is not easy; currently, the Yi Group can at most be considered to be in a gray area. Even if the company’s operations have been cleaned up, can the personnel really be completely replaced so quickly?
Not necessarily.
And those people who were involved back then held leverage over the Yi Family, but surely the Yi Family also had dirt on them.
It’s much easier to make those who are already villains commit evil acts than to have good people do so.
Fu Jue looked down at the USB drive in his hand, his mind filled with myriad thoughts.
“I’m not clear on how you discovered this, but you should remember that you are the heir of the Fu Family, the future person in power of the Fu Family.”
The Fu Family has always been associated with integrity, and he did not want the members of the Fu Family to get involved with things they shouldn’t.
Fu Yisi simply replied,
“I have my limits.”
Fu Jue was momentarily lost for words, then he sighed and shook his head.
“Suit yourself, have it your way.”
After this matter was discussed, Fu Yisi stood up, looking like he was about to say goodbye. Fu Jue immediately straightened his face,
“Did you come just to tell me about this?”
Fu Yisi looked at Fu Jue.
Fu Jue huffed coldly,
“Since you’re here, you should properly observe and prepare for your future role.”
Fu Yisi lifted his hand to check the time,
“No thanks, I have other things to do. We can talk about the tour some other time.”
Fu Jue: …
Did this kid actually mean what he said last night?
He had thought when he heard the news that Fu Yisi had changed his mind; it turns out he had been eagerly waiting for nothing.
Fu Jue also stood up,
“Let’s go.”
Fu Yisi raised an eyebrow,
“Dad, I know the way, no need to see me out.”
Fu Jue adjusted his suit and huffed coldly,
“Who said I’m seeing you out, I also have things to do downstairs.”
In the past, the father and son had an awkward relationship, mainly due to Fu Yisi’s insistence on studying medicine. But since Fu Yisi himself was not concerned with these things, and Fu Jue was broad-minded, there was no need for their relationship to remain tense.
Truthfully speaking, even without the issue of studying medicine, the relationship between Fu Yisi and Fu Jue wouldn’t be particularly close.
Only on the matter concerning Fu Zhixing did father and son share the same sorrow.
Fu Jue said he wasn’t seeing Fu Yisi out, but still accompanied him all the way to the door.
This was indeed the Chairman personally escorting someone out.
And there was actually a smile on the Chairman’s face?!
Along the way, everyone kept a poker face, but internally they were frantically analyzing and screaming.
Upon reaching the door, Fu Yisi didn’t expose Fu Jue.
“Ah Shang will be out for more than a month; even if the hospital is busy, you should take time every week to return to the old house and keep your mother company.”
With Ji Sang away, Ye Lin could only find her girlfriends to hang out with.
Fu Yisi nodded in response.
Fu Jue still wanted to say something when Fu Yisi’s phone suddenly rang.
