CHAPTER 241: CHAPTER 233 MUSHROOM POTION FORMULA

After putting away the two glasses of wine, Han Qiwu spotted the [Ancient Relic: Abandoned Potion Tube Without Cap] in the storage compartment. He casually took it out and handed it to Sister Jin Tu, asking, "Sister Jin Tu, do you recognize this?"

He had just run into a Pharmacist today, so Han Qiwu planned to see if he could make use of those mushrooms he was cultivating back at home.

The effects of those potions were enough to make his heart race just thinking about them.

Even if he couldn’t make them himself, letting Sister Jin Tu handle the materials would be fine too.

Given how swift she was at mixing drinks, her potion-making skills were probably top-notch too.

If he could solve this problem here, he’d save himself the hassle of finding Zack.

Zack’s mind wasn’t quite right; he always gave off a weird vibe.

Sister Jin Tu took one look at the potion tube before hurrying over to Han Qiwu. She snatched it up and exclaimed, "Wait here for me," before pulling aside the curtain and heading to the back room.

Han Qiwu didn’t expect this reaction and could only sit at the bar and wait.

"Hey, Han Qiwu, give me a hand here. Being stuck up here feels awful," Egger pleaded, his head spinning.

Han Qiwu shrugged with a suppressed smile, "I can’t fly either, so I can’t reach you."

"Just move a table or chair over here for me," Egger quickly suggested. "Or give me something to eat; I swear by my hammer I haven’t eaten in two days."

Han Qiwu chuckled, debating whether he should fetch something for Egger to eat. Starving him to death didn’t seem like a great idea.

*Knock knock knock*

At this moment, he heard loud banging sounds coming from inside the back room and immediately abandoned the thought.

An impartial person doesn’t meddle in familial disputes.

Better not interfere.

If Egger really ends up starving to death, isn’t there still Sister Jin Tu who can mix drinks?

"Egger, it’s not that I don’t want to help you—it’s just that I really don’t have anything left to eat. You’d be better off smoothing things over with your wife instead."

Just as Han Qiwu finished speaking, Sister Jin Tu came out of the back room in high spirits, clutching the [Abandoned Potion Tube Without Cap], and said to Han Qiwu, "I never expected to see this in your hands! This is used to store ancient specialty potions, and there’s still residue inside that I need. Can you sell it to me? Name your price."

Han Qiwu was a little taken aback; he hadn’t anticipated that this relic would be of such value to Sister Jin Tu.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, Han Qiwu responded, "Sister Jin Tu, there’s no need for money. Would you be able to teach me some potion-making knowledge instead? I find this quite interesting."

Sister Jin Tu laughed heartily upon hearing Han Qiwu’s request. "No problem, but your body is too weak right now. For now, I can only teach you how to make one kind of potion. Is there anything specific you want to learn? Or do you have any materials you’re particularly interested in?"

Han Qiwu was secretly delighted; he didn’t take Sister Jin Tu’s comment about his weak body to heart.

The real reason she only offered to teach him one formula had to be because their favorability rating wasn’t high enough yet.

"Thank you, Sister Jin Tu! I’d like to learn how to make potions using mushrooms as the main ingredient. I happen to have a few kinds of mushrooms on hand." Han Qiwu answered quickly.

"Mushrooms? That’s a pretty common material. Tell me what effects your mushrooms have." Sister Jin Tu replied while mixing a few drinks from behind the bar.

Han Qiwu recalled, "Paralysis, hallucination, and immense strength."

"Not bad. I happen to have a potion recipe that fits. Take it home and study it. Come to me if you have any questions." Sister Jin Tu nodded and handed the drink she had just mixed to Han Qiwu. "Start with this; I’ll write down the recipe for you."

"Wife, he can’t possibly drink two glasses of wine by himself," Egger said stubbornly from where he was hanging on the ceiling.

"That’s what I’m here for." Sister Jin Tu replied with a slight smile, downed the glass in one gulp, and expertly tossed the cup onto Egger’s head.

"Hold it steady. If it falls, there’ll be no dinner for you the day after tomorrow." Sister Jin Tu declared as she turned and went back to the room to write the potion recipe.

"Ah, Han Qiwu, did you see that? This is marriage for you—think carefully before you tie yourself to the grave, or you won’t even have time to find someone to carry your coffin," Egger lamented, balancing the cup on his head.

Han Qiwu glanced at Egger pityingly, thinking to himself that his future wife would definitely never treat him this way.

"She’s just telling you to drink less for your own sake." Han Qiwu replied with a smile, looking down at his drink.

The drink’s flavor was quite refreshing, reminiscent of a blend between mint and yogurt—cool and smooth to the taste.

While sipping the drink, Han Qiwu said to Egger, "Egger, do you know of any ways to directly enter the polluted mine layers?"

"The polluted mine layers? That kind of cursed place? You should be avoiding it, not looking for ways in!" Egger exclaimed.

"I wanted to check it out; I’m curious," Han Qiwu sighed. "I thought you knew everything. Looks like I’ll have to figure it out myself."

Hearing Han Qiwu’s tone, the slightly tipsy Egger got fired up, puffing out his chest. "What do you mean I don’t know? If you enter the mine at exactly 59 minutes and 59 seconds of any hour, there’s an eighty percent chance you’ll end up in the polluted layers!"

"Impressive, impressive!" Han Qiwu gave him a thumbs-up, silently memorizing the information.

Whether it was true or not remained to be seen—he’d have to test it out later.

Just as he finished his drink, Sister Jin Tu emerged from the back room holding a piece of parchment.

"Here’s the potion recipe. The blood ink on it hasn’t fully dried yet, so you’ll have to wait about four hours before reading it. Keep it safe."

Han Qiwu accepted the parchment and nodded his thanks.

[Readable in: 3 hours 55 minutes]

After safely storing away the parchment, Han Qiwu silently wished Egger good luck and left the place.

The harvest from this trip was quite substantial: first, he obtained a useful drink; second, he gained a potion recipe; and third, he got a potentially reliable method for entering the polluted mine layers.

Time to head to the mines.

Han Qiwu glanced at the time: 10:31.

There were still about thirty minutes until the :59 mark—waiting around would be a waste of time.

"I’ll explore the fifty-fifth level of the mine first. If there’s nothing useful, I’ll dig deeper and try to uncover some new minerals." Han Qiwu thought as he stepped onto the cable car.

[You have arrived at the fifty-fifth level of the mine.]

Exiting the cable car, Han Qiwu grabbed his pickaxe and began scouring the area for anything worth digging.

After searching for a while, he stumbled upon a small patch of ground.

The patch was situated by the riverside and covered in thick snow and ice. There were eight diggable plots in total.

Han Qiwu approached, aimed at the first plot, and swung his pickaxe to start digging.
