Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God
Chapter 1343 - 714 Road Idol_2
CHAPTER 1343: CHAPTER 714 ROAD IDOL_2
There are some things you can do sneakily, but absolutely cannot declare in public.
Stealing divine power is such a case.
This is one of the reasons why Gaven wanted to affiliate the Dragon Oak Mother Tree to Forest Queen Melikai; only in this way, can one’s actions be justified.
As such, it is not mortals stealing the authority of True Gods, but rather they, as a weapon of a Divine Residence, declaring war against hostile True Gods. This is a conflict among the True Gods.
And Gaven can bask in the Dragon Oak Mother Tree’s glory, pushing some sensitive matters onto the Mother Tree, as the two are inherently inseparable, thus avoiding backlash.
When the Road Force is fully infused, this statue is indeed no longer just a statue, but a road idol with mysterious connections to Gaven.
Road Idol
Size: Giant
Infused Divine Power: 640 points.
Listening Chance: 40%
Range: Radius of 64 kilometers (limited to roads).
Description: This idol is infused with your Road Force, and when those who walk on this road pray devoutly or seek help, you will have a chance to hear their prayers and respond accordingly. The listening chance is related to the amount of Road Force infused in the idol.
Dream Warning (Special Ability) — When travelers walking within the idol’s coverage experience danger in their dreams, the idol will automatically warn them.
Prayer Response (Special Ability) — When travelers set out on their journey, spending a certain amount of time praying to the idol for protection, the idol will respond automatically based on their level of devotion. When they are within the idol’s coverage, their movement speed will increase to varying degrees, ranging from 10% to 30%, determined by their devotion.
Road Rescue (Special Ability) — When merchants and travelers on the routes covered by the idol encounter danger, they can pray for aid. You or an appointed Guardian have a 40% chance to hear and respond, sending out a common rescue squad or a Road Guard Squad in harmony with the idol.
The Road Guard Squad can use the Road Force to teleport directly to within 500 meters of the person in need of rescue. Teleporting a medium-sized creature costs one point of the idol’s divine power, two points for large-sized, four points for super-large, and so on. The consumed divine power recovers the next day; once the idol’s divine power is depleted, no further teleportation can occur that day.
Divine Statue Linkage (Special Ability) — When the coverage areas of two idols can overlap, Prayer Response will automatically connect to the next idol. This can happen only once; upon reaching the destination, a new prayer is necessary.
Gaven, despite recently obtaining a pile of good things, was still deeply shaken by the Road Idol’s attributes. This is the foundation for becoming a god. With this, he can race tirelessly on his path to becoming the God of the Road, as if flying.
Anyone passing by his idol, whether or not they are his believers, must bow to him, offering their respect and prayers to receive corresponding blessings and protection. Merchants carrying heavy or precious goods, in particular, will certainly hold grand prayer ceremonies to maximize their blessings.
The difference between 10% and 30% is quite significant.
If Prayer Response is considered the most normal application of road clergy, Road Rescue falls under the road’s protection domain.
Such road rescue teleportation is akin to teleportation strikes.
Imagine a group of bandits robbing on the road, suddenly finding themselves confronted by the flash of Magic Aura and a squad of Transcendent Knights charging with guns ready. Anyone would be terrified.
Within a few months, no one will dare to rob on this road, including those monsters who will either be wiped out or flee far away.
If the entire road could be filled with his idols, travelers and merchants on this road would barely need to bring extra escort squads, just ensure prayer time is available.
Moreover, this can be seamlessly integrated with the chain inns opened by Mother Gao Ser.
Each idol is attached to a temple, inn, and barracks, facilitating responsive actions based on the feedback from the idols.
Dispatching forces through teleportation is not always necessary; it can be adapted to their needs. For instance, if a merchant’s vehicle breaks down or an animal becomes ill, they can request assistance, and different responses can be made based on the situation. Only the most urgent matters require teleportation troops.
Even the response doesn’t have to come from the Divine Statue Inn; it can be dispatched by the inn nearest to them along the route. Don’t forget, Gaven still has Shadow Messengers at his disposal; one stationed at each inn ensures smooth communication.
As for the Dream Warning, it is purely an unexpected delight from the linkage between Road Force and Dragon Oak Mother Tree.
For super-large, large, and medium sizes, Gaven doesn’t even need to test; he already knows their attributes. They require Road Force of 160, 40, and 10, respectively, with coverage diameters of 16, 4, and 1 kilometer, and listening chances of 30%, 20%, and 10%.
As such, medium-sized ones are basically of little use, not even eligible as add-ons, at least it has to be large. Large and super-large ones are to be vital parts of relatively remote roads.
Giant and super-giant are intended for major long-distance trade routes like the Conqueror Path.
