Chapter 1792: Chapter 863: Basking in Sunlight Again (Part 3)
And the Half-Plane of Fear is perpetually shrouded in mist. Although there is a change between day and night, the daytime is always overcast, never revealing the sun, while night is clear, allowing a clear view of the phases of the moon.
Philancy has reason to suspect that there is fundamentally no sun in the Half-Plane of Fear; the so-called day is merely the remnants of the sun’s light, much like the glow of the moon. After all, it is merely a half-plane where various laws are incomplete.
“Teacher, what you’ve said is unnecessarily modest; I will need your assistance in many places in the future.” Gaven felt a heartfelt joy as well. He didn’t expect the plan to proceed so smoothly.
Not only was the Dushan Witch together with the Nightmare Dream Realm kicked into the Half-Plane of Fear, but Philancy was also rescued from her predicament. This meant he now had another ace up his sleeve.
He finally saw Philancy’s full appearance. To describe her in a sentence, there wasn’t even a trace of disappointment in Gaven’s heart—there was a sense of ‘it was meant to be this way.’
Anyone with experience knows that when you first meet someone, it is often with the person wearing a mask or a veil.
When the person removes the covering, there is often a moment of disappointment, even if the person is much better looking than expected.
Because, when the other is veiled or masked, one’s imagination fills in the gaps; the power of imagination is strong and often surpasses reality.
When the contrast exists, the feeling of disappointment arises. Hence, the term ‘silhouette killer’ arises; their front may not be extremely ugly, but it might not match the beauty shown from behind.
Philancy perfectly matched Gaven’s imagination, with delicate and beautiful features. Each eyebrow and strand of hair seemed carefully groomed, yet there was no sign of makeup, as if it were natural, and her bright eyes seemed capable of seeing through hearts, making them difficult to look at directly.
The dreamy aura surrounding her did not dissipate with the withdrawal of the power of the Half-Plane of Fear; it remained by her side, making her seem somewhat unreal. It seemed she might dissolve with the wind the next second, merging into the mist, inducing in Gaven an uncontrollable urge to hold her tightly, reluctant to let go.
“Then let’s collaborate happily.” Philancy was no longer formal, promptly extending her right hand, slender and graceful, giving off a crystal-clear feeling.
“Happy collaboration.” Gaven grasped her soft little hand, realizing he felt slightly off balance due to her liberation, as it represented no longer being her sole focus; she’d regain her self-will and do what she wished, leaving him unsure of how to handle their relationship.
He forgot, however, that the previous relationship was abnormal.
Mutual collaboration to fulfill each other’s needs is the normal way of coexistence.
Once he understood, Gaven immediately adjusted his mindset and inquired, “Teacher, what is your next plan?”
“If possible, I want to visit the Dragon Oak Dream Realm and Totem Dreamscape to continue my research on dreams, preparing for the retaliation of the Half-Plane of Fear.” Philancy answered without hesitation.
“Retaliation from the Half-Plane of Fear?” Gaven asked in surprise, “Haven’t you completely freed yourself from the Half-Plane of Fear?”
“I just took the opportunity to withdraw most of the power of the Half-Plane of Fear eroding my body, but this method can only allow me more time to act in the Material Plane, unable to completely sever my connection with the Half-Plane of Fear.”
Philancy replied calmly, “Currently, I still can’t freely use teleportation spells, nor can I die, as all of these could significantly increase the likelihood of returning to the Half-Plane of Fear.
This is what makes the Half-Plane of Fear so extraordinary; once you relate to it, you can never completely escape.
My entanglement with it has only just begun, until it either swallows me, or I destroy it.”
“So that’s the case.” For some reason, hearing this explanation, Gaven felt relieved in his heart.
Because it meant that in certain areas, he was still irreplaceable for Philancy, at least in dreams research, where his help could offer much convenience.
After briefly considering, Gaven continued to ask, “Whether it’s visiting the Dragon Oak Dream Realm or the Totem Dreamscape, it’s a minor matter, but both dream realms have unique traits of their own. It’s difficult for you to replicate—what’s more important is to consider the creation of a new dream realm. Who will be the main bearer of this dream realm? Which group is it aimed at?”
Philancy pondered slightly before shaking her head, saying, “I haven’t considered this question yet, nor do I have a solid direction. In this regard, your expertise is stronger; do you have any good suggestions for me to reference?”
“The teacher’s forte is the arcane; it should be the point of focus.” Gaven responded swiftly, “And dreams never belong to just one person—the more people involved, the greater the advantage. I’m planning to establish a School of Spell on my territory to teach various magical skills, excavating the residents’ spellcasting talents. However, I’m lacking a leader. Would you be interested?”
Crafting a system to nurture spellcasters is a necessary trend for territorial development. Gaven has long wanted to pursue this, but he lacks talent in this area; not just anyone qualifies to be the head of a School of Spell.
If Philancy is willing, she has enough qualifications and is worthy of him investing significant energy and funds into. As for whether she’d cultivate arcanists or mages, it makes little difference to Gaven.
Moreover, Philancy is not a typical arcanist. Her breadth of knowledge is extensive; not only in arcane and spells, but even psychic magic spells, she has delved into—at least enough for those under legendary level.
