That’s the fastest place for Mesnoel to draw Corruption Power, isn’t it?
Their numbers may be many, but they are nothing compared to the Divine Root.
I believe that there, in just a few days, they would be thoroughly purified.”
A strange Elf woman’s voice interjected from the side.
All eyes instantly turned to the uninvited Elf.
This Elf had very distinct Silver Elf characteristics, with pearl-like silver-white skin that radiated a luminous sheen.
Her beauty, even among Elves, was outstanding, epitomizing the racial traits to an extreme—the slender almond-shaped face, towering nose bridge, elongated ears, and thin red lips.
All these features combined just right.
Her brown hair was arranged in a complicated braided ponytail, adorned with vibrant ribbons and beads, which added a noble air without overshadowing her presence.
Her figure was so delicate it seemed a gust of wind could blow her away, yet her bare arms revealed well-defined muscles, showing she wasn’t as frail as she appeared.
She wore a tailored Elf armor, covered in various unique totemic patterns, giving off faint magical fluctuations that indicated they were more than mere decorations.
On an over-the-top Combat Belt, she carried at least a dozen Magic Wands, while in her hand, she held a powerful Magic Wand radiating intense magic power.
Just from her attire alone, it was clear her background was no simple matter.
Especially given her detailed knowledge of Mesnoel, Gaven had a general guess about her identity.
He motioned to Nola with his hand not to act rashly and asked respectfully, “May I know how to address the lady?”
The Elf looked to be in her early twenties or not yet thirty, a young age among Elves.
Compared with Humans, the judgment was more complicated, so the best approach was to maintain ample respect.
“My name is Selin Nightstar, from the Nightstar family of Eternal Gathering Island.
A hundred years ago, this was our home,” Selin began by revealing her identity.
To prove it, she counter-asked, “What is your relation with Elisa Noel?”
Just as I thought!
Gaven inwardly exclaimed and answered, “She is my mother.
What’s your relation with my mother, and how should I address you?”
“If going by the paternal line, Elisa would call me aunt.
On the maternal side, she’s a cousin of mine, where our connection is somewhat closer by blood.
You can simply call me Aunt,” Selin clarified their family relationship, bringing them considerably closer in an instant.
“I am honored to meet you, Aunt Selin,” Gaven’s expression became even more respectful, knowing that she was not alone, and likely represented the entire once noble class of Mesnoel.
This was all about potential networks of relations.
Despite not knowing why she came, fostering good relations with her was undoubtedly correct.
“Where is your mother?”
“To be honest, Aunt Selin, I have never met my mother.
She disappeared shortly after giving birth to me.
Before the reactivation of Mesnoel, I knew almost nothing about her.
I didn’t even know her surname, let alone her connection to Mesnoel,” Gaven replied earnestly, “I was hoping to learn more about my mother from you.”
“You did not know your relation with your mother before reactivating Mesnoel?
Then how did you reactivate it?” Selin looked astonished, this situation completely surpassed her expectations.
“It was all serendipity.
We didn’t come with the intent to reactivate Mesnoel, but upon hearing that it had re-emerged, with the Necrotic Maze Lock going out of control and starting to erode the Mir Forest, we discovered the Moando Servants wreaking havoc here with the Divine Root.
After dealing with them, we unintentionally discovered the latent connection between Mesnoel and myself, leading to the reactivation of this place,” Gaven introduced concisely the sequence of events.
After listening to Gaven’s explanation, Selin couldn’t help but exclaim sincerely, “Fate really is the most wondrous thing.
Without the chaos stirred up by the gods, giving Divine Root the chance to break free, even if you had reactivated Mystlock Locks by virtue of your connection to Mesnoel and obtained control over the Tower of Dominion, it would’ve been a calamity rather than a boon, a heavy fate to bear.
Your Noel family paid a steep price for it.
Your mother Elisa’s disappearance was no mere coincidence, as she bore the Evil God’s mark, making her an easier target for malevolent entities.
“Perhaps she concealed everything, hoping you could live a peaceful life.
But fate once again placed you in the roles of Heir and Rebooter.
“Fortunately, with the god Moando fallen, and the Divine Root dispatched by you, you need not bear the same fate for now.
“As for wanting to learn more about your mother, I’m sorry to say my knowledge is limited as well.
When we migrated from Mesnoel to Eternal Gathering Island, your mother was just an infant.
She mysteriously went missing en route, and we haven’t seen her since.”
Gaven, a true Fate Reshaper, has his destiny, which he shaped, become utterly entangled.
Yet, there are things beyond his belief, as if an unseen hand is pushing him forward.
Perhaps it’s memories from another life, or maybe it is a higher existence looking to use him to reshape the world.
Selin still revealed a valuable piece of information — the Evil God’s mark.
From what he gathered about Elisa, her disappearance, and the death of her former adventuring companions, could very likely be tied to some Evil God or an unnamed terrifying entity.
At least not the God of Corruption and Degeneration, whose True God powers lean more towards corruption, disgusting but not inscrutable.
Moando had not indeed left the mark of an Evil God on himself, but another Evil God, the Goddess of Undead Vengeance, had marked him long before.
If it really was easy to attract unclean entities, I would have to be careful in the future.
Felen and Earth had different definitions of unclean things.
The unclean things on Earth, such as ghosts, shadows, specters, and zombies are commonplace existences in Felen, and there are at least methods to restrain them.
The unclean things in Felen usually pertain to those with a nature of spiritual contamination, invisible influences that cause people to go mad or insane upon mere contact.
Most of these entities come from the same place—the Distant Realm.
“I wonder where Auntie comes from?
And how did she know that Mesnoel rebooted?” Gaven began to subtly probe the other party’s intentions.
“We received a vision revelation from His Highness Miseren, and now the entire Eternal Gathering Island knows about Mesnoel’s reboot.
I come on behalf of Mesnoel’s three major families to bring a warning to the rebooter.
From the current situation, it seems that such a warning is no longer needed.
In a moment, I will convey the information here back to Eternal Gathering Island, to the three major families.
As for what to do next, it will depend on the decisions of the three families,” Selin replied truthfully.
“I see,” Gaven said with a look of realization, “Even so, I’m grateful for Auntie’s and the lords’ kindness.
Why doesn’t Auntie stay here for a while to better understand the situation?
You’re more familiar with Mesnoel than I am, and I still have some questions to ask.”
Selin smiled and said, “Even if you didn’t say so, I would have done it anyway.
After all, it’s not easy to visit home.
Watching the rain from inside the Tower of Dominion is a scene I can’t forget even in my midnight dreams.”
“Then Auntie Selin’s return is timely.
Looking at the sky, if it doesn’t rain tonight, it’s bound to pour tomorrow.”
“Don’t worry about me; do what you need to do,” Selin said with a curious face.
“How do you plan to solve the problem with this tree spirit and her oak tree?”
“Their current condition is the result of the Divine Root maliciously fostering them with the power of corruption.
The problem isn’t in the body, but in the soul consciousness.
My initial speculation is that the enlightenment of this oak tree was incomplete, so only the tree spirit’s soul can forcefully compensate for it.”
Gaven had a plan in mind for this matter, “I’m thinking of starting from this aspect, using Enlightenment to sort out and guide its soul consciousness.
The best outcome would be to complete it, allowing the tree spirit to form its own complete soul consciousness.
Then, the tree spirit could free itself.”
This was one of the solutions he had thought of.
In addition, there was an alternate plan; if separation wasn’t possible, the idea was to unite the two soul consciousnesses into one.
As for who would assimilate whom, that was the issue of whether to preserve the larger or the smaller entity that Gaven had previously mentioned.
“You know the Enlightenment spell?
Can it really be used in this way?” Selin posed a question that received an answer, yet it led to more questions.
“Whether it can be used or not, we’ll know after trying,” Gaven explained, attributing the matter of the Enlightenment spell to the Fairy Wilderness.
This was still the problem of not having a high enough Professional Level.
If he had a Transcendent spellcasting Professional Level, even possessing spellcasting abilities beyond his Professional Level, others wouldn’t find it so surprising.
After all, there are many external means to supplement one’s abilities, but a Professional without even a Transcendent level casting spells beyond Transcendent would always cause wonder and side glances.
After Selin’s reminder, there indeed seemed to be the most suitable place for these corrupted awakened plants.
They were awakened plants, not animals, and could withstand the rapid extraction of corruption power.
But the new problem arose—how to send them down to the Sealing Space beneath the Crystal Spire?
Although Gaven knew of the existence of that Sealing Space, he had never found the way down.
The internal teleportation array of the Tower of Dominion could only go as far as the thirty-third sub-level, not below the foundation.
And having searched all over Mesnoel, he had not found the passage through which the Divine Root had escaped.
Given its size, the escape route would certainly not be too small; even if it collapsed, it would leave very clear traces.
Yet around him, there were only traces of the Divine Root’s movement, not those of burrowing up from underground.
Recalling the earlier situation where the base of the Divine Root vanished into the Ether Plane, he had reason to suspect that the Divine Root had not escaped by drilling through but had circumvented its way out through the Ether Plane or the Shadow Plane.
After hearing Gaven’s queries, Selin couldn’t help but laugh, “You’ve controlled the Tower of Dominion for too short a time; many of its uses have yet to be discovered by you.
Hm, I see the problem now.
Normally, the successive controllers of the Tower of Dominion are either Legendary or at least Quasi-Legendary—not below Transcendent.
Many abilities require coordination with the controller’s spellcasting abilities to be used.
One such ability is to expand the city’s internal teleportation.
If you could cast teleportation spells, you would be able to send them down very easily.”
