Fate To Fake: Loved by the Fallen; Fated to Kill the Divine
Chapter 134: Ophis Lost her Grand Entrance!
CHAPTER 134: OPHIS LOST HER GRAND ENTRANCE!
A few minutes ago,
Valra was sitting on the chair, looking through the documents and submissions of the student lists inside the student council room. Papers were stacked in uneven piles, and her tired eyes scanned through them.
"Hmm..." she frowned, her brows knitting together as she glanced up at the group of students standing before her awkwardly, their faces hopeful and pleading.
Valra sighed, shaking her head, and spoke with a firm tone. "As I said before, the list has already been provided to the Principal and other departments, and we cannot change anything anymore... It’s you who gave your name to the game, right?"
The students nodded their heads one by one, clearly embarrassed. They were the ones who had come to remove their names from the festival game.
Valra’s eyes turned sharp as she set the papers aside. "Then, I cannot do anything," she said flatly, raising her hand to silence their protests.
"B-But please, we have a huge day back in my home... I need to leave," one of the students stammered desperately.
"Yeah, I have to as well," another quickly added.
"Yes, please do something, Madam!" the third chimed in, their voices overlapping with growing desperation.
Valra blankly stared at them, her expression cold, before she finally nodded once. "Well then, all you need to do is... get the Principal’s signature and also bring a letter from your family."
"What? That’s not poss—" one of them began to argue, but she cut them off immediately.
"Then leave. Please." She motioned toward the door, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.
The students grumbled, their faces twisted with annoyance as they muttered under their breaths before walking away, defeated.
Valra shook her head, rubbing the bridge of her nose as the tension lingered. "Do they think they can just give their name and remove it whenever they want?" she muttered to herself in frustration, shaking her head again. "Irresponsible idiots... how will they survive with this kind of mindset in society?"
Knock... Knock...
Someone knocked on the door again.
Valra sighed heavily. She had already been dealing with one request after another ever since the announcement of the festival came out. Honestly, she didn’t even have time to spend with her boyfriend today... and that annoyed her even more.
"Come in,"
She said it while waving her hand tiredly... the other members of the student council were already dealing with other issues, so she was stuck here alone to handle the rest.
The door parted open slowly, but... strangely, nothing visible appeared in the doorway.
"Hmm?" Valra frowned, confused.
"Oi... look down."
A murderous voice echoed, low and sharp, forcing her to lower her gaze.
And there she saw it... Furious Ophis!!
Ophis stood at the entrance with both hands planted firmly on her hips, her eyes narrowed as she glared murderously at Valra.
Valra smiled gently, "Oh? Ophis? How is your class going? Did you enjoy—arhh!!"
Before she could finish her innocent, warm words, Ophis struck. Her hand lashed out, smacking Valra across the face in an instant, nearly knocking her back out of her chair. The impact sent papers, files, and documents flying across the room like a storm of chaos.
Valra blinked, her eyes wide as she steadied herself on the chair. "What the hell was that, brat!!"
"Don’t call me brat!!" Ophis screamed furiously, her voice cutting like thunder.
She slammed her fists onto the table with such force that it shattered in a second, splintering into pieces as if it had been made of paper. She stepped forward like an executioner coming to deliver judgment.
"How dare you... how dare you..." Ophis muttered, her teeth grinding as she advanced.
"What’s wrong?" Valra frowned, already lifting her hand as she prepared a spell, but then...
"How dare you put me with those little brats!!" Ophis’s eyes brimmed with tears, her voice trembling with both fury and humiliation.
Valra blinked, then processed what she had just heard. And then—
"Pfffff—Hahahaha!!"
Her laugh burst out uncontrollably, her shoulders shaking as she covered her mouth.
The sound only pissed off Ophis even more.
"You witch! You did it on purpose, didn’t you?!" Ophis roared, stomping her foot.
"W-Wait! I didn’t mean... I mean, look at you! You look so small, where else should I put you—arrhh!!"
"I am not SMALL!!" Ophis shrieked, her anger peaking beyond anything imaginable. In an instant, she leapt forward and literally stomped onto Valra’s body, bouncing on her like a furious child using her as a trampoline.
"Arhh!!" Valra cried out, but her laughter wouldn’t stop. She was honestly laughing even through the pain—it wasn’t really her mistake... well, kind of, but she hadn’t meant for it to happen that way.
It’s just—Ophis was barely the same height as third-grade students.
So of course Valra had placed her name in their group.
What else was she supposed to do?
Put her in twelfth grade?
Hell no!!
"Haha... that would be... Haha... hilarious—!!" Valra’s laughter filled the broken room.
"DON’T LAUGH, YOU BITCH!!!" Ophis screamed, her face red with fury.
Crack!
Another stomp landed hard.
"ARRHH!!!" Valra screamed again, her voice echoing against the walls.
....
"So that’s what happened?" Leo asked with a shocked face as he looked at Ophis and Valra, who were now sitting before him, almost like two children caught doing something wrong.
Valra patted her hair back into place as she tried to push the scattered papers down into some order. Her eyes avoided Leo’s, her face twisted into an awkward and embarrassed expression.
Ophis, on the other hand, only lowered her head in silence.
Leo sighed before shaking his head. He crouched down in front of Ophis and gently patted her head. The sudden contact made her flinch, her body stiffening.
"I... I wanted to give you a surprise... b-but..." she muttered in a defeated tone, her voice trembling with regret.
Leo smiled softly. He lifted her chin so their eyes met and smirked a little.
"I am definitely surprised," he said, his eyes flicking toward her uniform.
She really did look cute like this.
Honestly, if not for her actual age, he could have hugged her like a teddy bear and kissed her cheeks without hesitation.
Ophis’s lips trembled... Only she knew how grand she had planned her entrance.
She wanted to see his surprised expression.
She wanted to tease him.
She wanted to play with him.
She wanted to study together.
So many things she had planned to do with him.
Honestly, she had everything mapped out in her head... but this bitch ruined it all!!
Ophis’s eyes turned teary again.
Leo sighed, gently rubbing the corner of her eyes to wipe away the tears. "Don’t worry, everything will be fine."
"Grr!!" Ophis growled as she turned her head toward Valra, glaring at her like a predator ready to pounce. Valra flinched at the look but quickly masked it with a small snort.
Leo sighed again and looked at Valra. "Is there a way to change her class again?"
Valra hesitated. Honestly, it was possible... but it would be a tedious and complicated process, not something that could be done immediately.
"Valra?" Leo pressed.
Valra let out a long sigh. "It’s possible, but it won’t happen quickly... I need some time. Until then, she’ll have to stay in that class."
"YOU COULD HAVE DONE THAT SOONER!!" Ophis shouted furiously, her hands tightening into fists, but Leo held her back gently, calming her down as if soothing an angry cat.
"Calm down, Ophis... it’s just a few days. You’ll be fine. After that, we’ll be together, you know?"
Ophis wanted to argue, to shout, to demand, but the words never came. Instead, she sighed in defeat.
What was done was done.
Nothing could be changed now.
So much for her grand entrance... it had all been ruined.
Valra then quietly pulled out the restoration stone. With a soft glow, the shattered furniture and scattered documents reassembled back into their proper state, the room slowly returning to its previous order.
She coughed lightly and sat down at her desk, typing on the computer.
Honestly, it’s not like she did it on purpose, just... maybe she did for yesterday ruining her sleep with Leo!
But she wasn’t going to tell that...
"I’ve put in the notice. We should get a reply from the Principal very soon," she said, casting a glance at Ophis, who was now seated on Leo’s lap, still clearly sulking.
Ophis snorted again, turning her head away. She was obviously annoyed, her pride still burning, and there was no way she would believe this bitch again.
Valra looked back at Leo, raising an eyebrow. "So... what’s the reason you came here?"
"Oh, right. About my name in the running race... could you remove that?"
Valra blinked before replying, "Of course, that’s easy peasy... just a few clicks," she said with a big smile as her fingers danced across the computer keyboard.
Leo sighed in relief. He had been worried that this would require chasing after some signature or going through a mountain of procedures.
Thank goodness everything was solved so easily, without needing any of that.
However—
Before pressing the enter key, Valra suddenly hesitated. Her eyes lifted toward Leo, her expression shifting to something more serious.
"Are you sure?" she asked softly.
"Hmm?" Leo raised a brow.
"I mean..." Valra’s voice lowered. "I know you’ve forgotten everything, but... I also know how hard you worked for this race before. You were desperate to prove yourself to your parents... so?"
Hearing those words, Leo blinked. He rubbed at his nose awkwardly, his mind faltering.
Honestly, she had told him the story before—how they had first met. Back then, he had been training day and night for the race. He’d poured everything into it.
Even so...
"Leo... whatever you decide is fine," Valra continued gently. "The current you may not know that struggle, and I’m not asking you to become like the previous one. But... just think about it. Maybe this could be your way of honouring his memory?"
Leo was taken aback, ’Honouring the memory... ha?’
The current Leo, who had taken over the body of the previous Leo... even if it felt wrong, even if it never sat right in his heart...
’Maybe this would be the best way to depart from him entirely? To close that Chapter once and for all?’ he thought, his expression conflicted, brows furrowed in confusion.
Noticing his silence, Valra smiled faintly. "You still have time until the festival. Think it through... okay?"
Leo hummed in response, letting out a long sigh, his shoulders dropping as if carrying a weight that no one could understand
Just then—
Knock... Knock...
Both Valra and Ophis flinched.
Leo, however, only sighed, already knowing who it was even before the door opened.
