Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 335: Ivana Monroe, What Gives You the Right to Stay Calm?
CHAPTER 335: CHAPTER 335: IVANA MONROE, WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO STAY CALM?
"..." Ivana Monroe.
What does Old Mr. Guo mean? Timmy calls him "Grandpa Guo," not just "Grandpa"!
If he were called "Grandpa," wouldn’t she have to call Old Mr. Guo "Dad"?
Ivana shakes her head in her heart; Old Mr. Guo probably doesn’t mean that, right?
Old Mr. Guo examines Ivana’s injuries; they’re healing well, just as he expected. He smiles and says, "Recovering nicely."
Old Mr. Guo helps Ivana change her medication and notices someone seems to be missing from the ward.
That person is Leon Keane.
Because not long ago, Leon Keane had just called him, Ivana would arrive at the hospital around what time today.
"Where is that kid Leon Keane?"
Old Mr. Guo asks casually.
"He should be on the road, perhaps delayed by something?" Ivana says this, but she can’t help worrying about Leon Keane in her heart.
At the entrance of Mount Cygnus Hospital, he had pushed her onto the ambulance, saying they’d meet at the hospital.
Even if there were traffic lights on the way, given the time, Leon Keane should have long arrived.
If it were rush hour, there might be traffic jams.
But at this point, it’s not rush hour.
Ivana’s heart beats uneasily; the word "accident" intrudes into her mind.
No, it can’t be.
Leon Keane’s luck isn’t that bad.
Old Mr. Guo doesn’t ask further. Leon Keane is the CEO of the Kane Group, so being busy is normal. Perhaps he was delayed by a call from the company, which wouldn’t be surprising.
Old Mr. Guo advises Ivana to rest well, then leaves the ward.
Ivana’s fingers touch her phone; hesitating for a few seconds, she dials Leon Keane’s number.
The other party does not answer.
Ivana becomes increasingly uneasy; she bites her lip, the waiting becoming torturous.
A mechanical female voice comes from the phone: The number you dialed is unavailable, please try again later.
The call disconnects.
Ivana immediately dials again.
Mount Cygnus Hospital.
Kyle Sinclair has already found Julia Sinclair; he holds his phone in hand, seeing the caller ID as "Wife," his pupils shrink, and he grips it as if trying to crush the screen.
"Kyle, why aren’t you answering the phone? Is it your brother Leon calling?" Julia asks nervously.
"No, it’s a bitch calling."
Kyle’s eyes flash with hate.
"Bitch?" Julia looks at Kyle in confusion, noticing Kyle’s expression is gloomy. She’s startled; Kyle isn’t in love, right? Why does he hate the girl calling so much?
Julia doesn’t know the phone Kyle is holding is Leon Keane’s.
The phone rings again.
Julia leans over for a look, her face changes suddenly.
"Wife? Kyle, are you dating?"
If Kyle were healthy, Julia wouldn’t oppose him dating; but Kyle has had a heart condition since childhood; he can’t handle emotional stress. Besides, Kyle is in the hospital now, his life sustained by money.
Julia fears Kyle will suffer emotional pain.
"No."
"Then who is this woman... Why did you enter her as ’wife’?"
"This isn’t my phone."
"Ah?"
"This is Mr. Kane’s phone."
Leon Keane’s phone?
Julia is stunned for a while, then regains herself, somewhat bewildered as she asks, "How did it end up with you?"
Kyle’s eyes flicker, not telling Julia he stole it from Leon Keane.
Leon Keane hasn’t noticed.
Kyle lies, "When Mr. Kane and I went to your ward and found you weren’t there, Mr. Kane hurried out looking for you; he left his phone when he ran out, I picked it up and chased after him, but he ran too fast, and I couldn’t catch up."
Kyle’s words are full of holes.
If it were true that he and Leon Keane went to Julia’s ward, there’s no chance Leon would leave his phone. If the phone dropped from Leon’s pocket, the falling sound would be loud enough for Leon to hear.
Kyle’s lie can be easily exposed.
Yet Julia chooses to ignore it, her pale face flushes a little, "He... really cares about me?"
Kyle sees Julia showing a shy, girlish expression; she has already deeply fallen for Mr. Kane. He secretly resolves to help his sister win over Mr. Kane.
"Yes, Mr. Kane cares a lot about you."
Ivana’s call comes through incessantly.
Kyle grows extremely irritated; in his mind, an evil plan flashes, and he hands the phone to Julia, "Sister, you answer. Just say Mr. Kane is in your ward, currently in the bathroom, and can’t take her call. Tell her to call back later."
"She will definitely call back again, then you repeat the same thing."
Julia is shocked, "Kyle, you..."
It isn’t that she’s shocked at Kyle teaching her this kind of divisive tactic; she knows such methods. Julia is shocked Kyle staying in the hospital, nurturing his body; he should be innocent without any complicated thoughts. When did he come to know these things?
Julia cares greatly for Kyle, to all bad deeds she can do, but Kyle cannot.
Faced with Julia’s disbelief, Kyle blushes, "It’s just how they act on TV..."
Julia understands, feeling guilty within; over the years, she has been abroad, hardly spending much time with Kyle each year, leaving him alone in the ward. He can only rely on watching TV to pass his dull, tedious time.
"Sister owes you."
"Sis, don’t say that." Kyle sees Julia’s eyes redden, and his eyes redden too, holding Julia’s hand, "Sister has already done plenty for me."
Julia shakes her head in pain.
Kyle sees the phone ring continuously; his eyes turn cold, saying, "Sis, happiness must be fought for oneself; Mr. Kane doesn’t lack feelings for you. You need to seize this chance."
Julia wavers; if not for Kyle being here, she would have long answered Ivana’s call. This way, Ivana would certainly believe something happened between Leon Keane and her?
When Leon Keane returns to Ivana, Ivana would treat Leon coldly or start an argument; either way, it would benefit Julia greatly and disadvantage Ivana.
Leon Keane would suffer Ivana’s upset; she could then take advantage and snatch back the man who belongs to her.
Julia hesitates for a few seconds, fearing losing this chance, she answers the call.
"Hello, looking for Leon? He’s in the bathroom, doesn’t have his phone on him. Call back in ten or twenty minutes!" Julia deliberately uses a sweet and sticky voice, as if she just had an intimate moment with Leon.
Back at the hospital ward.
Ivana is terribly shaken; the owner of the voice is... Julia Sinclair?
Right, she remembers this voice, except now it’s sickeningly luscious.
"Are you Julia Sinclair?"
Ivana’s calm voice surprises Julia.
She frowns, her fingers tighten; she wants to tear apart Ivana’s calm, hoping Ivana would hysterically scold her.
Why is Ivana so calm?
Could it be that Ivana is used to it? In reality, it’s not just Ivana who’s the only woman in Leon’s life?
