Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 352: Asking for Red Envelopes
CHAPTER 352: CHAPTER 352: ASKING FOR RED ENVELOPES
Timmy dodged Grandpa Pierce’s "devilish hands" and said angrily, "Timmy’s not a girl, Timmy is a little boy. Little boys have tender skin. What kind of grudge does Great-grandfather have with me to pinch me so hard?"
Tsk tsk!
This brat sure has a temper!
Grandpa Pierce could now confirm that the little boy in front of him wasn’t Ian Keane, because that kid had a quirky temper and would hit anyone who dared to make him unhappy.
Grandpa Pierce had never been hit, but the dog his family used to have chased after Ian Keane and got a good kick from him.
Actually, the dog listened well to Grandpa Pierce. It was Grandpa Pierce who had deliberately let it out to chase Ian Keane. It was his petty nature to blame, just because Ian Keane wouldn’t greet him or get close to him.
Grandpa Pierce got angry; he couldn’t scold Ian Keane in front of Ian’s mother, so he used the dog to teach Ian Keane a lesson.
That act was despicable.
But no one knew.
"How can you talk to your Great-grandfather like this? What sort of grudge would I have with you? I just like you and want to pinch you a little," Grandpa Pierce argued.
"Timmy, come to Mommy."
Ivana Monroe was lying in the hospital bed, completely unable to move. She was afraid that Grandpa Pierce might reach out and pinch her little treasure again, so she called Timmy over.
Seeing this, Grandpa Pierce felt displeased, but said nothing.
After all, he did pinch Timmy’s little face pretty hard. It hurt Ivana’s heart, but she’s not like Ian’s mother, who would have jumped up by now.
Ian’s mother is usually easygoing, but when it comes to doting on her grandson Ian, she’s stubbornly strict.
Grandpa Pierce probably mistook the person. Ivana has an injured leg and can’t move, but if she were able to, she wouldn’t let Grandpa Pierce bully Timmy like that.
Timmy went to Ivana’s bedside.
Ivana looked at his pinched red little face and felt heartbroken. She reached out to hug the little boy’s head gently and blew on his face.
Timmy shook his head at Ivana, smiling and whispering, "Mommy, Timmy doesn’t hurt."
Kane Group.
Leon Keane received a call from the bodyguard, and with a stern face, he said, "Who let him in? Get him out immediately."
Grandpa Pierce’s shamelessness surpassed even that of Preston Pierce.
And the older Grandpa Pierce got, the worse he became. Don’t think Leon didn’t know—it was Grandpa Pierce who released the dog when Ian’s mother brought Ian back.
The dog listens to its owner. If Grandpa Pierce cared for Ian even a little, he wouldn’t have let his dog chase him.
The bodyguard was startled and said awkwardly, "President Kane, we didn’t want to let him in; it was the lady of the house who instructed us to. She said if anything happened to the old gentleman, we wouldn’t be spared. We didn’t dare ask him to leave!"
Leon furrowed his brows deeply. He knew what kind of person Grandpa Pierce was very well.
Leon pondered calmly for a moment. If he attempted to kick Grandpa Pierce out now, the old man would surely act like a rogue, maybe even escalate to a dangerous level.
If something happened to the old man, Preston Pierce wouldn’t look for Leon but would find his mother and extort some money.
Leon felt a tightness in his chest and asked in a deep voice, "What’s going on in the ward now? Has Grandpa Pierce caused any trouble?"
The bodyguard glanced into the ward and said, "No, the old gentleman is comfortably lying on the wicker chair. The lady has instructed Aunt Golding to buy Dragon Well tea for him, and he’s getting along well with the lady."
Leon was quite surprised. Besides Preston Pierce and Lucas Pierce, Grandpa Pierce was getting along well with someone else? Was red rain about to fall from the sky?
"I see, I’ll be right over." Leon stood up, left the office, and further instructed: "Keep a close watch on the ward; if Grandpa Pierce causes trouble, drag him out."
Not kick him out, drag him out.
The bodyguard felt very troubled: "Okay, President Kane, I got it."
The bodyguard silently prayed, Grandpa Pierce, at your age, please don’t stir up trouble, don’t lose your mind!
There was a tea shop next to the hospital.
Aunt Golding returned to Ivana Monroe’s ward with a box of the finest Dragon Well tea. When Grandpa Pierce heard the door open, he turned his head and saw the Dragon Well packaging in Aunt Golding’s hand, his eyes fixated.
In his lifetime, he loved drinking Dragon Well the most. Ian’s mother would send him several good batches every year, but they’d soon be taken by Jackie, who used them to build relationships with clients by giving gifts.
So every year, Grandpa Pierce barely tasted any premium tea, and key was he couldn’t complain, having to secretly store it in his heart without asking Ian’s mother for more.
Aunt Golding brewed a cup and brought it to Grandpa Pierce. He was thrilled; his hands, unafraid of the heat, took the glass, blowing on the steamy rim and sipping it. The scalding hot water mixed with the unique aroma of Dragon Well tea was burning yet satisfying as it went down.
After finishing a cup, Grandpa Pierce asked Aunt Golding to refill it with plain water.
Aunt Golding had just refilled it.
The ward door was pushed open again, and Grandpa Pierce saw Leon Keane come in with a cold face, startling him so much that his hand holding the tea cup trembled, burning his hand, and with a thud, the cup fell to the ground, soaking his shoes.
Grandpa Pierce cried out in pain, glaring at Leon, "You brat, you want to scald your grandpa to death?"
Leon said coldly, "You shouldn’t be here."
Grandpa Pierce had burnt hands and wet shoes; a storm was brewing in his heart. Leon’s words fanned the flames.
"What do you mean I shouldn’t be here? What’s wrong with me visiting my grandson-in-law and the child?"
"Oh? Really? Then as a grandpa, did you bring a red envelope for the granddaughter-in-law?"
Since you came to visit, did you buy anything? Let’s not talk about that, but as an elder, you ought to give a red envelope, right?
Grandpa Pierce wanted to retort to Leon: I’m so old; where do I get the money?
Thinking of how Ian’s mother gave him nearly 100,000 a year for living expenses, and remembering how Ivana had just sent Aunt Chamberlain to buy him premium Dragon Well tea.
Grandpa Pierce gritted his teeth, took out a 50, wrapped it in a red envelope, and handed it to Ivana.
"Thank you." Ivana felt a bit embarrassed receiving it.
Grandpa Pierce was pained so much he grimaced.
"Great-grandfather, does Timmy get a red envelope too?" Timmy suddenly asked innocently.
"Of course, you’re the youngest; your great-grandfather will give you a big red envelope," Leon said with a smile.
"Wow! Great-grandfather, are you going to give Timmy a thousand-dollar red envelope? Timmy’s so happy!"
