Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 379: No Conscience, Only Money
CHAPTER 379: CHAPTER 379: NO CONSCIENCE, ONLY MONEY
She cursed, "What a naughty kid, parents died early, how much suffering has Grandma Lowe’s old bones endured to raise him? Truly doesn’t know gratitude at all and only messes around outside. For such an ungrateful brat, it would be better if he just died outside."
Luke Lowe ran back home.
It was two ramshackle tile houses, with a yard enclosed by mud walls outside.
Grandma Lowe was making porridge at home, her hearing wasn’t great, and she didn’t hear the sound of feet running in.
"Grandma."
Luke Lowe ran in front of Grandma Lowe, shouting loudly.
Only then did Grandma Lowe hear him, raising her head. Seeing it was her grandson Luke Lowe, she felt a bit scared, "Luke..."
Luke stretched out his good left hand and said fiercely, "Give me money, I want money."
When he woke up in the morning, he saw dozens of missed calls on his phone from brothers, and when he called back, his brother told him that Hawk was in trouble, the small nightclub was also in trouble, asking him if he had offended some terrifying big shot. Told him to be careful.
Luke immediately thought of Ivana Monroe. Last night, after he and Hawk left the hospital, they saw armed bodyguards. It must have been those people who found Hawk’s nightclub, so they went to kill Hawk.
If those people can find Hawk, it wouldn’t be long before they find him too.
Luke was extremely terrified. Early in the morning, despite the nurse’s opposition, he ran out of Crestfall Hospital. He found an alley without cameras, summoned a taxi in the alley, and only then managed to make it back alive.
Luke had no money on him upon returning. Calling his brothers proved unhelpful; they only told him to run for his life but didn’t support him with money to get through the crisis.
Thus, the only person he could think of was Grandma Lowe.
Luke wanted to ask Grandma Lowe for money, leave Ravenswood, hide out for a few years, and return after the murderers of Hawk had forgotten about him.
Without his right hand, buying medicine outside requires money, living needs money, without money he can’t survive.
"Luke, every time you come back, you ask me for money. Where would I have money?" Grandma Lowe said awkwardly.
"Old hag, don’t lie to me that you don’t have money. Every month your minimum living allowance is a thousand, plus the harvest from the fields. I’ll estimate less for you, but you must have at least ten to twenty thousand now."
"You used to give me little money, I didn’t argue with you then, but now I’m in trouble, you have to bring out this money. I’m warning you, don’t be like before, refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit, forcing me to take action on you."
Grandma Lowe was scared to death by what he said, and started crying. She even knelt before Luke Lowe, "Luke, Grandma raised you with so much effort. Even if I don’t have merits, I’ve worked hard! How can you treat Grandma like this? Beat Grandma?"
Luke was very agitated, eager to run for his life. Seeing Grandma Lowe crying and not giving him money, his anger flared up. He grabbed Grandma Lowe’s silver hair with his left hand and violently slammed her to the ground, kicking her twice more.
"Damn it, you old hag, have the nerve to say this? If it weren’t for you having a useless son who married a useless wife and died after giving birth to me, would I need to endure such a hard life with you?"
Grandma Lowe cried out in pain, as if she had gotten used to being beaten as long as Luke stopped, she would stop hurting.
Luke forced her to give money.
Grandma Lowe couldn’t come up with it, crying, "No money, Luke, I really have no money. If you don’t believe me, go through all my cupboards. If you can find money, it’s yours, all yours, isn’t that enough?"
"If there isn’t, then spare Grandma. Grandma is almost dead, please don’t torture Grandma anymore."
Luke didn’t go searching through the old lady’s cupboards, because every time he came back, he searched them, but never found much, only tens of bucks, which to him was barely enough for one cheap takeaway.
Luke reckoned Grandma Lowe definitely hid the money somewhere he couldn’t find it. She herself had to bring it out herself, or he’d never find it.
Luke got angry again, kicking Grandma Lowe’s body, kicking her head, "You old hag, hiding your money and not letting me spend it. Are you going to take it to the grave with you? Are you going to give it to me or not? If you don’t give it, I’ll kick you to death."
"Luke, stop, how can you treat your Grandma like this?" The aunt who met Luke outside ran over, originally intending to bring some herbal medicine to stop Luke’s bleeding.
Never expected to see Luke beating Grandma Lowe.
The aunt was furious, and ran to stop Luke.
But was kicked aside by Luke.
The aunt was a woman, kicked in the abdomen by Luke, she squatted on the ground, spasming in pain, her expression showed extreme agony.
"Damn it, telling you not to meddle."
By now, Luke had already lost his humanity, became a beast, harsh on the aunt, even harsher on Grandma Lowe.
"You old hag, are you giving or not? Are you giving me money or not? Look at my hand, it’s already broken, don’t you feel bad for your grandson? You’re still hiding money? You old hag."
Luke was swearing all over, holding out his broken right hand. Because he exerted force, the wound seeped a lot of blood again, the fresh blood dripped on Grandma Lowe’s face.
Grandma Lowe felt herself about to be beaten to death by her grandson. Seeing her grandson’s right hand gone, the wound was bloody, she still felt heartache, "Luke, how is your hand gone?"
Her words further infuriated Luke.
"Are you blind? Can’t see that my hand was chopped off?"
"Hello, 911? Help..."
The aunt saw that Grandma Lowe was about to be beaten to death, enduring the intense abdominal pain, she took out her phone to call the police.
Before she finished speaking, the phone was snatched away by Luke and smashed hard to pieces on the ground.
Luke’s fist then aimed at the aunt.
The aunt was terrified, mustered up her courage, and said firmly, "Luke, if you beat me to death, you’ll also be caught and executed. I advise you to stop your violence against your grandma now."
Luke didn’t act rashly again, looked at the aunt, his eyes spinning, and sneered, "Aunt, since you’re so sympathetic to my grandma, let’s do this! I’ll give you an hour to get twenty thousand. Otherwise, I’ll kill my grandma, and your whole family."
The aunt looked at Luke in disbelief, "Are you crazy?"
Luke: "Yes! I’m crazy. Aunt, you should have guessed when you saw my chopped-off hand, I’m being chased by enemies. If you don’t give me money to help me escape, I’ll kill your whole family, let you accompany this old hag in death."
The aunt cursed, "Luke, you’re really a beast, your conscience is eaten by dogs, saying such outrageous things."
Luke: "Let the dogs eat it then. I don’t have a conscience, I only want money."
The aunt’s family didn’t have that much cash, what was in the bank was fixed deposits, even if she withdrew it without interest, it would take quite a bit of time, she couldn’t get the money to Luke’s hands within an hour.
The aunt thought of Ivy Linden, she dialed a phone number over.
