Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 384: Professional Ethics
CHAPTER 384: CHAPTER 384: PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
Who knew...
Ian Keane stepped aside, evading Leon Keane’s hand: "I want to eat noodles with fried bean paste."
Leon Keane: "..."
This kid... around Ivana Monroe, he loves to be hugged by her, even gets jealous of Timmy. But in front of him, he’s very dismissive. Isn’t he charming enough? Is Ivana the apple of Ian’s eye?
Timmy, on the other hand, is more considerate.
Treating dad and mom the same way.
Unlike Ian, this ungrateful brat.
"Noodles with fried bean paste, alright. Timmy, what about you?" Leon Keane searched noodles with fried bean paste on the delivery app, found several places, and picked a shop with many orders.
"I want noodles with fried bean paste too," said Timmy Monroe.
"Alright, two bowls of noodles with fried bean paste." Leon Keane glanced at Aunt Golding: "Aunt Golding, what about you? What breakfast do you want?"
Aunt Golding felt flattered: "No need, President Kane, I’ve already eaten."
Leon Keane said no more.
He and Ivana Monroe had already eaten. Ivana woke up early; the two kids were still asleep at that time. He worried Ivana might be hungry, so he got breakfast for her and ate some himself.
The noodles with fried bean paste were delivered.
The two little boys sat at the dining table, eating with great appetite.
Ivana Monroe’s phone rang; it was Ivy Linden calling.
Ivana didn’t answer immediately but looked at Leon Keane.
"Who’s calling? Honey, don’t look at me like that!" Leon Keane felt puzzled as if he had done something wrong.
"Your good buddy... Howard Yeats told Ivy what happened last night?" Ivana asked.
Ivy Linden?
"How would I know?" Leon Keane replied.
Ivana pursed her lips, stopped talking to Leon Keane, and answered the phone: "Ivy."
Ivy Linden was on the other end, her voice trembling, as if she’d been crying: "Ivana, I lost your design drafts."
Ivy Linden’s voice was full of apology.
Ivana sighed in relief; she thought Howard Yeats had told Ivy about last night’s events. Apparently not, and Ivana didn’t want Ivy to worry about her.
Ivana smiled and said: "It’s okay, I’ll send you another copy."
Ivy choked: "Ivana, that’s not what I meant. What I mean is, I’ve already printed out your design drafts, but I accidentally lost them. I’m afraid someone might find them and turn your work into theirs."
Ivana heard the pressure in Ivy’s voice and said: "Don’t overthink it, don’t scare yourself. Even if you accidentally lost the printed drafts, anyone who doesn’t understand design wouldn’t find them useful; they’d just be scraps of paper."
Ivana didn’t ask Ivy where she lost the drafts; she always put Ivy’s feelings first and comforted her.
Ivy was deeply moved.
Ivy said: "Ivana, I’m sorry."
Ivana shook her head: "Ivy, it was unintended, don’t be too hard on yourself. I’ll call Allen later and ask him to give me more time to provide new design drafts. As for the drafts I sent you, let’s keep them at GK and process them ourselves and sell them ourselves!"
She couldn’t give Allen the lost designs, although she said that to Ivy to relieve her burden and pressure. Still, lost designs did pose a risk, even if the risk was small, she couldn’t pass it on to Allen.
This is professional ethics.
Three days later.
Kyle Sinclair entered Jack Quinn’s hospital room again and was stunned by Jack Quinn’s haggard appearance, especially his eyes with dark circles as if he was nearing the end of his days, as if one foot was in the grave.
"Who? What person?" Jack Quinn heard the noise, his nerves tense, but he relaxed when he saw it was Kyle Sinclair: "Kyle!"
"Brother Quinn, lately... have you encountered evil spirits?" Such a drastic change in such a short time could only be explained by evil spirits.
"Probably?" Jack Quinn’s mind was scattered, unwilling to continue the subject, as the recent events were too eerie, like he was haunted, especially at midnight when the ghost appeared by the window, the TV wall, and beside his hospital bed.
In short, he hasn’t been sleeping well, feeling goosebumps and scared all over, even with the hospital’s night nurse accompanying him, he still felt afraid.
He planned to move out within these few days, as the hospital room might not be safe to stay.
"Kyle, what’s the matter for which you are looking for Brother Quinn?"
Why was he looking for him?
Did Jack Quinn not know?
Kyle Sinclair was somewhat surprised, as he had already told him a few days ago, and normally Jack Quinn would never forget such important matters as his sister being hurt.
Kyle Sinclair looked at Jack Quinn, suspicious about what might have happened to him, causing such poor memory, forgetting even such a momentous matter like his sister being harmed?
Kyle Sinclair saw the bewildered look on Jack Quinn’s face and said: "Brother Quinn, it’s about what I told you two days ago. If Brother Quinn can’t deal with Ivana Monroe, then please help me and let me handle her myself! I really... cannot stand her still being alive."
Jack Quinn suddenly remembered; Kyle told him that Julia Sinclair’s shoulder got hurt because Ivana Monroe had someone come and slash her.
Normally, if Kyle said so, Jack Quinn would believe him, but that day... that day Ivana Monroe simply couldn’t have had someone slash Julia Sinclair because she was struggling herself.
"Kyle, your sister being slashed is mysterious, let Brother Quinn call for an investigation first, then we’ll deal with whoever hurt your sister, alright?"
Jack Quinn would never let the person who hurt Julia go free.
Kyle looked at Jack Quinn oddly, unable to accept what he said.
Because in Kyle’s eyes, Jack Quinn was favoring Ivana.
"What’s mysterious? There’s nothing mysterious about it. Think about it! My sister hadn’t been back in the country long, and besides Ivana, does she have any enemies here? Only Ivana, who pushed my sister down the stairs the first time, wanting to take her life. Failing that, she paid someone to slash my sister. It’s only by divine fortune my sister is still alive. But there’d be a third time, and no one knows what vile tactics she’d use against my sister next."
"Brother Quinn, just tell me, are you willing to help me? If not, I’ll rely on myself. I swear, without getting rid of that wench Ivana, I will not rest."
Jack Quinn’s expression shifted, worried about Kyle acting impulsively. His constitution was so weak, how could he confront Ivana? What nonsense!
Even "Brother Hawk" couldn’t get rid of Ivana and got countered, let alone Kyle, this frail young man.
"Alright, alright, Kyle, don’t be impulsive. Brother Quinn will spend a hefty sum to hire a hitman to kill Ivana, would that work?"
"Works." Kyle added: "Brother Quinn, can you get me a gun? I wouldn’t do anything rash; I only want it for self-defense and to protect my sister."
