Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 46: Going to Find Leon Keane
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 46: GOING TO FIND LEON KEANE
The old man just looked silently at Ivana without saying anything to her.
After a while, a nurse came, and seeing so many people in the room, she was a bit overwhelmed. She politely told them that the old man needed rest and asked the family members to leave.
Everyone was ushered out by the nurse, and Ivana was the last to leave.
Adelaide grabbed Miles and pushed him in front of Ivana.
"Ivana, open your eyes wide and see clearly. He is the only heir of the Monroe family. It’s not excessive for all of the old man’s assets to be left to him. You’re just a granddaughter; a married daughter is like spilled water. You even have a child; you’re considered married off and shouldn’t compete with Lucas over the old man’s assets."
Adelaide went home last night and couldn’t sleep at all. She pondered that something was amiss. The old man is already this old; even if the surgery is successful, how much longer can he live?
The old man has always been unwilling to divide the assets. It’s possible that he might secretly hand over all the assets to Ivana, the little brat, while they’re unaware.
Adelaide gave birth to the sole heir of the Monroe family and absolutely cannot let all the old man’s assets fall into the hands of Ivana, the brat.
Ivana’s son isn’t even a Monroe, so why should someone else benefit?
"Adelaide, what you’re saying isn’t right. What era is it now? Married daughters also have the right to inherit their parents’ assets."
Kimberly and Sylvia argued with Adelaide, clearly dissatisfied.
"Sis." Miles, a shy young man, called out softly, scratching his head somewhat embarrassedly.
He didn’t want to participate in his mother’s fight over assets, especially in front of his beautiful cousin Ivana; it felt humiliating.
But he couldn’t go against his mother... Adelaide.
Ivana looked at the shy Miles, the young man’s eyes filled with helplessness towards his mother.
Ivana disliked Adelaide’s greed for assets, but she didn’t dislike Miles, the shy young man.
"Grandpa needs a quiet environment to recuperate; persuade your mom to go back," Ivana said.
"Okay, sure." Miles was very obedient to Ivana, nodding promptly without any rebuttal.
Ivana’s good impression of Miles increased a bit, and she said.
"If the day comes when Grandpa really divides the assets, your share won’t be less."
Miles looked shocked at Ivana.
Julian, the second uncle, was equally surprised. Ivana’s words felt like a guarantee to Lucas.
Adelaide stopped arguing with Kimberly and Sylvia, smiling broadly at Ivana: "Ah~ Ivana is still the most sensible one. With your promise, Aunt is relieved."
Seeing this, Kimberly and Sylvia anxiously approached Ivana.
"What about our share then? Ivana, you shouldn’t be heartless. If the old man leaves all the assets to you, you must also give us our share."
Adelaide was displeased upon hearing this: "There’s no share for you. Ivana is the daughter of the eldest branch; she can inherit because her surname is Monroe. Your children no longer bear the Monroe name, so why should they get a share of the Monroe family’s assets?"
Adelaide started arguing with Kimberly and Sylvia again.
Miles tried to pull Adelaide away, advising her not to argue, but it was futile.
Ivana suddenly said sternly: "Stop arguing. Anyone who says another word won’t get a penny."
Ivana finished her outburst and sure enough, everyone quieted down, nobody dared to argue anymore.
Ivana left, not saying a word to her father Caleb.
Caleb also didn’t speak to Ivana; his cold attitude seemed as if he had already devised a way to save Jean Shaw and her daughter.
By afternoon.
Jean Shaw and her daughter were released, with Caleb personally driving to pick them up.
As soon as the three of them left the police station, Jean Shaw cried as she threw herself into Caleb’s arms: "Oh Caleb! You don’t know how I spent last night. They locked me in a dark and cramped room, surrounded by walls, without a bed. I had to sleep on the floor all night, I was so scared!"
Michelle was also wiping tears next to her: "Not only that, there were cockroaches on the floor, and rats scurried in during the night. My foot almost got bitten by a rat."
Caleb was a bit annoyed by Jean Shaw’s crying. Hearing Michelle’s claim about her foot nearly being bitten by a rat, he asked with concern: "Michelle, are you okay?"
Michelle seemed to have a mental breakdown as she cried: "Dad, do you know the feeling of calling out to the heavens and the earth without any response? I never want to experience it a second time."
Jean Shaw came out from Caleb’s embrace, hugging Michelle painfully, her tear-swollen eyes maliciously exclaiming: "It’s all Ivana’s fault, that little brat. She caused us to end up like this. She must have bribed the people inside, telling them to deliberately let cockroaches and rats in to bite me and Michelle. She wants us to get the plague!"
Caleb frowned deeply at this. Previously, he would have been deeply convinced by Jean Shaw’s words, but after yesterday, hearing such venomous remarks from her mouth made him skeptical.
He rescued Jean Shaw and Michelle because he couldn’t afford to lose face in Ravenswood.
With both his wife and daughter being murderers, who would still do business with him? Who would still trust him?
Caleb said sternly: "This matter is in the past now. Don’t cause any more trouble for Ivana and don’t even speak half a word against her in front of the old man."
Jean Shaw looked shocked at Caleb with her swollen eyes, seeing his cold, uncompromising expression, a piercing pain surged through her heart, coupled with a magnificent hatred for Ivana.
Jean Shaw and Michelle snuggled up and got into the car, their eyes cold and venomous. They wouldn’t forgive Ivana, the little brat.
Michelle and Jean Shaw reached a consensus with their eyes.
Now even dad is standing on Ivana’s side, no longer listening to mom and her. Michelle was so enraged she could vomit blood; she would make Ivana regret ever living in this world.

Ivana had a simple meal outside and finally decided to find Leon Keane. As she settled the bill, a tall figure appeared beside her.
"Put this lady’s meal on my tab."
"Yes, Mr. Heston." The cashier exclaimed in surprise, her eyes filled with red hearts as she looked at the incredibly handsome and charming Isaac Heston.
The handsome Mr. Heston was indeed mesmerizing.
Ivana looked up at the tall, handsome man beside her; his features seemed somewhat familiar. Hearing the cashier call him Mr. Heston, she thought of Zachary Heston.
That’s right; this man did bear some resemblance to Zachary Heston.
Ivana frowned, laughing lightly: "Sir, this way of approaching someone is quite outdated."
After saying this, Ivana tossed two hundred-dollar bills down, telling the cashier: "Keep the change as a tip."
She spent one hundred and thirty; the remaining seventy was quite generous as a tip for the cashier.
Just before the cashier had a chance to celebrate, Isaac slammed his hand on the cashier’s desk: "Hand over the remaining money."
