CHAPTER 512: CHAPTER 512: LEON KEANE’S LACKEY

Ivana Monroe’s cheeks were burning hot. Did this man know what "shame" was?

He definitely didn’t; otherwise, he wouldn’t say such things to Timmy.

"Mommy, look at how badly Daddy is hurt. Can you please blow on his wounds often? Timmy wants Daddy to get better soon."

Timmy Monroe looked at Ivana pleadingly.

Ivana: "..."

This child is usually so clever, why does he keep falling into Leon Keane’s "trap" today?

Sigh~

She understood. When you’re too concerned, you get confused. Timmy was too worried about Leon Keane’s health, so he subconsciously believed what Leon said.

Leon Keane, are you really shameless? Taking advantage of your son’s sympathy.

"Okay."

Ivana gently patted Timmy’s little head and said, "You and your brother should focus on your studies. Don’t worry about your Daddy; Mommy will take care of him at the hospital! He’ll be fine soon."

Leon Keane raised an eyebrow, eagerly awaiting her to blow on his wounds.

Someone pushed open the door to the ward and walked in with big strides, carrying some food.

Timmy and Ian Keane turned their heads and saw a very handsome man, with eyes as dark as night that seemed to contain countless brilliant little stars. He curved his lips into a friendly smile and greeted the two little ones.

"Hi, you must be Timmy and Ian, right? I’m your Uncle Richie."

"Uncle Richie?"

Timmy looked up at Ivana, his curious little eyes seemed to ask, "When did I get an Uncle Richie?"

Mommy had never introduced this "Uncle Richie" before.

Also, it was quite strange! This "Uncle Richie" had a familiar voice, like he had heard it somewhere before?

Ian Keane turned his cold little face away, treating Richie as if he were air.

Ivana hadn’t had a chance to speak when Leon Keane said.

"You have an uncle, but no Uncle Richie. You don’t need to call him that; just think of him as a passerby."

A passerby?

Ivana almost burst out laughing; how could Leon Keane come up with that?

Richie’s forehead lined with black lines: "Leon Keane, if it weren’t for me flying the helicopter and delivering you to this hospital, you’d be dead by now. You should have some conscience."

Leon said indifferently, "I’m not dead; are you disappointed?"

Richie scoffed: "What are you talking about? If I wanted your life, you wouldn’t have lived to see the sunrise today."

"Then should I thank you for not killing me?"

"If you want to thank me, be sincere; let the two kids call me Uncle Richie."

Leon Keane’s eyes turned cold, the dangerous light in the air battling with Richie’s gaze.

Ivana watched the ’gods’ battle with their gazes and shook her head helplessly, sitting down with the two children on the sofa, not worried they’d actually hurt each other.

Firstly, Leon Keane was lying in a hospital bed, with limited mobility, let alone fighting.

Secondly, although Richie was an assassin, he had principles and wouldn’t harm Leon Keane who was lying there defenseless.

Moreover, if Richie dared make a move, she’d risk her life to stop him.

"Dream on, do you think you can be considered a brother to me? Uncle Richie, you have quite the ego."

"Who cares to be your brother? Leon Keane, you think too highly of yourself. I just want to be their Uncle Richie because they seem much more lovable than you."

"Of course, my sons are adorable, they’re my own. But unfortunately, you can’t have such cute sons, and dreaming of having my sons call you uncle? Never gonna happen in this lifetime."

"Leon Keane, you’re overly arrogant. Haven’t you heard the saying ’never speak too soon, because it might backfire on you’?"

"Do you have the ability to back that up?"

"..."

Richie quarrelled with Leon Keane for a while, frustrated to the core; this man was not only arrogant but had a sharp tongue.

Damn it.

Look down on my ability, do you? Just wait and see.

I refuse to believe my good looks aren’t worth more than yours, you scarred, burn-ridden mess of a man.

"Mommy, who is he really?"

Timmy asked quietly by Ivana’s side. Why did this "Uncle Richie" seem so incompatible with Daddy?

Ivana whispered in his ear, "He was the stranger who brought your Daddy back last night. I don’t know what his intentions are now, but you and Ian must remember to keep your distance from him, understand?"

Oh~

So that’s how it is.

Timmy nodded earnestly. "Understood, Mommy. You can rest assured! My brother and I will do as you say."

Ivana breathed a sigh of relief.

She couldn’t reveal Richie’s true identity to the children, afraid it might scare them.

But she couldn’t let the kids think Richie was a good person either, as he was a terrifying assassin, and Ivana feared he might harm her two children.

Frustrated by Leon Keane, Richie didn’t want to talk to him anymore, so he turned and placed the food in front of Ivana and the two children.

"Tomahawk steak from Harmony Garden, Suhua cake from Manxiang House, Budda Jumps Over the Wall from Imperial Banquet, and steamed king crab." Richie playfully winked at Ivana as he spoke, "Specially bought for you... and the kids too."

Ivana: "..."

Did this assassin’s eyes cramp? Why keep winking at her?

Opening the packages, the rich aroma of food filled the entire ward.

"Someone, come."

Leon Keane roared.

Derrick Stern hobbled in on crutches, one leg sprained.

"President Kane, what are your orders?"

"The smell in the ward is making me want to vomit. Throw all these things out."

"Understood, President Kane."

Derrick Stern limped over to Richie, feeling his murderous gaze, he mentally prepared himself for a few seconds, not making direct eye contact, but speaking to Ivana instead: "Madam, President Kane is too severely wounded to handle the smell of these greasy foods. Let me throw them all out, and you can tell me anything you want, I’ll have it delivered."

Ivana nodded.

Richie complained: "No way, I went through several streets and waited over three hours for these..."

Derrick Stern cut Richie off: "That’s because you’re foolish. Nowadays, you can pre-order food using a phone, and have it delivered; there’s absolutely no need to go in person, is there? What’s your goal in doing this? Don’t tell me you think you can win over our madam with this?"

Derrick Stern hit the nail on the head.

Faced with Ivana’s gaze, Richie’s handsome face started to heat up: "Nonsense."

Derrick Stern looked at Richie’s face: "If you’re not guilty, why are you blushing? I think you’re having improper thoughts about our madam. Forget it, President Kane risked his life for madam, saving her from the fire. Could you do that? Can you lay down your life for madam?"

Ivana thought about the scene where Leon Keane saved her, felt a lingering sense of fear mixed with deep gratitude. She never expected Leon Keane to go to such lengths for her.

Richie’s beautiful eyes darkened, he suddenly grabbed a handful of Suhua cake and stuffed it into Derrick Stern’s mouth: "Leon Keane’s lackey."
