Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 530: Don’t Let the Elderly Worry
CHAPTER 530: CHAPTER 530: DON’T LET THE ELDERLY WORRY
"Ian and Little Timmy are injured? How could they be so careless?"
The Matriarch furrowed her brows, a hint of blame in her eyes.
"I’ve told her countless times, looking after children requires patience and attention. She just wouldn’t listen, being so reckless because she’s their mommy. I don’t know if she genuinely doesn’t care for her children or is intentionally opposing me."
"Little Timmy"?
The Matriarch’s call was truly affectionate, considering Timmy’s status on par with Ian’s.
Ivana really has tactics! Knowing it’s not easy for herself to win over the Matriarch, she sent Timmy to win her favor.
The Matriarch might be old, having no resistance to the younger generation, and didn’t even think about it; that Timmy, a mere six-year-old, who hadn’t interacted with her before, is now so close. This clearly is ulterior motives!
Generally, a six-year-old is quite shy!
Leon’s mother thinks Timmy is definitely taught by Ivana; once he wins over the Matriarch, Ivana can dominate the Keane household.
Leon’s mother feels suffocated, as long as she’s alive, she won’t let Ivana’s cunning plan succeed.
"Why would she oppose you? Maybe it’s because she’s a first-time mother and doesn’t quite know how to care for children!" The Matriarch glanced at Leon’s mother: "When you gave birth to Leon, weren’t you the same as Ivana?"
"Mom, why are you speaking up for Ivana?" Leon’s mother went pale, even dragging up when she gave birth to Leon?
When she had Leon, and didn’t know how to care for children, her mother-in-law definitely didn’t give her any leniency.
She too has endured being a wife only to now enjoy being a mother-in-law, how can the Matriarch now favor Ivana and blame her?
"I’m not speaking up for her, merely stating facts."
"But, Mom, this time both kids are badly hurt, we can’t let this happen again. It’s best to find a virtuous and gentle woman to take care of them."
The Matriarch’s heart ached terribly upon hearing about the children’s injuries from Leon’s mother.
However, she didn’t quite agree with Leon’s mother’s subsequent words.
"A biological mother is always a biological mother, changing to another woman means a stepmother, can’t you even grasp this basic truth?"
"Mom, that’s not what I meant..."
"Alright, I’m very tired. If you’re dissatisfied with Ivana’s care of the children, then invest heavily to hire a parenting trainer to help Ivana learn how to raise children. Why complicate such a simple matter?"
Leon’s mother wanted to oppose, but the Matriarch didn’t give her a chance.
"Which hospital are the two children in now? I’m going to visit them, you just stay home and rest!"
"But, Mom, the children are my grandchildren as well! They’re injured, and as their grandmother, I should also go visit them!"
"You’ll only cause chaos, wait until the kids are discharged before you see them!"
"Mom..."
"The address."
Leon’s mother heard the Matriarch’s authoritative voice, leaving no room for dissent. She was about to blow a fuse; everyone was siding with Ivana, Leon, Ian, and now the Matriarch too.
Does she still have any life left in this family?
"I don’t know. I haven’t had the chance to ask."
Leon’s mother’s eyes were red from anger, feeling extremely wronged.
The Matriarch snorted seeing this and directly dialed a number.
It was Ivana who picked up the phone.
Ivana was quite surprised that the Matriarch would call.
"I heard Ian and Little Timmy are injured. Which hospital are you at?"
"Matriarch, how did you know?"
Ivana felt very peculiar, besides herself and the children, only Harrison knew about the injuries. Could it be Harrison told the Matriarch?
So, is Harrison’s backer actually...? Ivana quickly shook her head, impossible. The Matriarch isn’t that kind of devious person; a person’s character can be seen through their eyes. The Matriarch’s gaze is upright, her loves and hates clear. If she disapproved of her, she’d outrightly tell her to leave.
If not the Matriarch, then the only one left...
"Don’t worry about how I know, just tell me which hospital you’re at. I’ll come right over."
The Matriarch refrained from involving Leon’s mother, as such matters shouldn’t be discussed, as it would only escalate conflict between Ivana and Leon’s mother.
Ivana didn’t ask anymore; she seemed to have already figured it out herself.
"Matriarch, we’ve collected the medicine and are planning to return. If you’d like to see the children, I’ll bring them over to you right now."
Took some medicine?
That indicates the children’s injuries aren’t too severe.
The Matriarch visibly relaxed: "No need, take good care of the children, don’t let this old woman worry."
Ivana felt guilty inside: "Yes, Matriarch, your criticism is correct; I didn’t take good care of the children, I’ll pay more attention in the future."
"It’s not mommy’s fault."
"Mommy did nothing wrong; she takes care of us very well."
The children echoed Ivana’s words in unison.
The Matriarch was very pleased with Ivana’s attitude in admitting faults, hearing the children defending Ivana so firmly over the phone, left her speechless. Was she overreacting?
No mother is perfect in raising children, and Ivana is the biological mother of them both. She more than anyone wished to care for them well, not wanting them hurt.
The Matriarch hung up the phone, seeing Leon’s mother’s figure turned away, slightly shaking, seemingly wiping tears, but she felt no sympathy. Ivana was far better than Leon’s mother. Back then, when Leon’s mother didn’t raise Leon well, when the Matriarch pointed it out, Leon’s mother not only failed to admit fault but also argued back.
That’s precisely why the Matriarch dislikes Leon’s mother on this.
About an hour later.
The Matriarch was quite surprised.
Ivana brought the two children over.
"Madam."
"Madam."
The children’s tender voices melted the Matriarch’s heart.
"Little Timmy, Ian, my two little treasures, what brings you here?"
The Matriarch looked kindly at the two rushing children, repeatedly saying: "Slow down, slow down, don’t run so fast, Madam isn’t going anywhere."
"My brother and I knew Madam missed us, so we came to visit!"
Timmy ran up to the Matriarch, reaching out to give her a hug.
"Little Timmy and Ian are such good children, caring so much about Madam!"
The Matriarch’s eyes grew moist.
The two children helped the Matriarch to sit down.
"Little Timmy, Ian, where are you hurt? Tell Madam."
The Matriarch was concerned about the children’s injuries.
This time, Timmy didn’t hide, directly showing his little hand, pitifully saying: "Madam, look, my hand is injured, it’s very bad."
Ian, for the first time, rolled up his pants: "Madam, my leg is hurt, it aches."
Leon’s mother heard voices and came downstairs.
Ivana’s gaze wandered toward Leon’s mother.
"Is the injury so severe?" The Matriarch’s voice trembled; Little Timmy’s hand was so tender, now with a patch of skin gone. How painful must it be? And Ian, his leg was bruised and swollen, who could be so cruel?
Leon’s mother came downstairs, seeing the scene, felt heartbroken, fiercely glaring at Ivana.
