Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 536: Meddling in Others’ Business
CHAPTER 536: CHAPTER 536: MEDDLING IN OTHERS’ BUSINESS
"Wait a minute."
"Boss, what’s the matter?"
"I’m worried that once she reaches the hospital, she might not cooperate with the doctor."
Ivy Linden is a stubborn woman, which is what Howard Yeats is most troubled by.
Ethan Vance’s eyes rolled, smiling and saying, "When the time comes, boss can simply say he’s taking Ms. Linden for a check-up. As long as boss doesn’t say, I don’t say, and the doctor doesn’t say, this thing can be done without anyone knowing. When the child is born, boss can bring the child to Ms. Linden, and seeing her own flesh and blood, she’ll surely soften."
"Isn’t marrying Ms. Linden a natural course for boss?"
Howard Yeats thought of Leon Keane’s words on the phone; he said when he had no emotional foundation with Ivana Monroe, there was a foundation when they had a child.
If he and Ivy also had a child’s foundation, Ivy would have no reason to refuse him.
"Alright, let’s do it that way."
Howard Yeats made up his mind; with a child, his mother wouldn’t say anything anymore. Even if it’s a girl, she’d be overjoyed, which is his mother’s only request of him.
His old mother was also anxious, seeing him delay marriage for so long, she had no requirements of a daughter-in-law, as long as he liked her, just have a baby.
Howard Yeats’ mouth tilted up, seeming to imagine Ivy Linden donning a wedding dress for him and becoming his woman for life amidst blessings from the host and everyone.
"You kid, remember this, only you know, I know, and the doctor knows. If I find out you’ve told a fourth person, I’ll want your life."
Howard Yeats lowered his voice, sharply glaring at Ethan Vance.
"Boss, I swear I won’t tell anyone."
Ethan Vance was a qualified minion and immediately swore loyalty.
"Hmm, if this matter is done well, you’ll reap the benefits."
"Thanks, boss."
Ethan Vance was extremely excited, having been by the boss’s side for so long, he finally found a great opportunity to show himself, he swore to handle this matter well.
Ivy Linden woke up, packed some clothes, ready to leave with Nicole.
But the villa’s door was locked, so she found the butler.
The butler showed a troubled face: "It wasn’t me who locked the door! It was Young Master Yeats who locked it before leaving in the morning, and he has the keys. None of us are going out, Ms. Linden, you should wait for Young Master Yeats to return before leaving!"
"Yeah, Mommy, let’s wait for Uncle Yeats to come back before leaving. He treats us so well, if he comes back and finds us gone, he’ll be sad."
Nicole looked up, her eyes reddened; she really liked Uncle Yeats, he treated her well, why would Mommy want to take her away? There are many bad people outside who would bully her and Mommy.
There are also vicious dogs.
Whenever Nicole thought of the words "vicious dog," the scene of being bitten that night would appear in her mind, causing her small body to tremble slightly.
"Ms. Linden, see, even little Nicole said so, why don’t you go back to the room for now! I’ll carry your things."
Without waiting for Ivy Linden’s refusal, the butler took the bag of clothes from her hands.
Ivy Linden’s room was on the second floor, the butler ran into Aunt Thompson on the way up.
"Mind your own business."
Aunt Thompson glared at the butler,
The butler was puzzled, what did she mean by minding his own business? Young Master Yeats had instructed him before leaving that they couldn’t let Ms. Linden leave with Nicole, he racked his brains to figure out this trick to lock up the villa.
Ivy Linden held Nicole’s hand, ignoring Aunt Thompson’s unfriendly gaze.
Ivy Linden went upstairs, Aunt Thompson spat at the staircase: "Shameless, having a child yet won’t let go of our President Yeats."
Aunt Mason came over, sarcastically saying, "Thompson! Don’t say that, offending her will make you suffer in the future. She’s cunning, now even Butler York is close to her, helping her carry things back to her room. I’ve been at the Yates family for ten years, and Butler York has never helped me carry stuff once."
Aunt Mason was a bit jealous, Butler York was about her age, divorced, and she was divorced too; she tried multiple times to show goodwill, wanting to pair up, but Butler York wouldn’t accept and deliberately kept his distance.
Aunt Thompson scoffed: "Offend then offend, I’m not afraid of her, I just find her disgusting, bringing a child as a vixen and not afraid the child will learn from her, growing up to be just like her?"
Aunt Mason laughed: "She probably doesn’t fear anything, perhaps it’s intentional, teaching the child to be a vixen from a young age, and when grown, seduce men. Look at our President Yeats being toyed with by this mother and daughter pair, even taking the little one as his own. That little vixen, how is she worthy of being Young Master Yeats’ own daughter?"
Ivy Linden stood upstairs, covering Nicole’s ears with trembling hands.
"Mommy, you’re covering my ears." Nicole looked up, seeing tears glisten in Ivy Linden’s eyes, and became nervous: "Mom, what’s wrong? Does it hurt somewhere?"
When she was bitten by the dog, it hurt so much she wanted to cry.
Did a dog bite Mommy too?
Ivy Linden picked up the little girl, smiled and shook her head, tears silently streaming down: "Mommy doesn’t hurt, it’s just the wind blew into my eyes a moment ago, making them dry and uncomfortable."
Nicole’s little hands hugged Ivy Linden’s neck: "Mommy, you should lie down, Nicole will use a warm towel to soothe your eyes."
Upon hearing this, Ivy Linden’s tears fell more fiercely. Such a pure and kind child, why did they have to hurt with cruel words? Accusing her is one thing, but wouldn’t they spare even a child of a few years old?
"Ms. Linden, you and little Nicole should go back to the room to rest, leave the rest to me to handle."
Butler York whispered by Ivy Linden’s side.
Ivy Linden said nothing, taking Nicole back to the room. This was Howard Yeats’ home, he saved her life, and Nicole liked Uncle Yeats, so she didn’t want to cause a scene at the Yates’ villa.
But, this doesn’t mean she’d endure it forever; even if she had to leave, she’d definitely tell Howard Yeats how excessive those two old women were.
Butler York went downstairs, Aunt Thompson and Aunt Mason, who were whispering, separated, acting as if nothing had happened, going off to do their work.
"You two, stop there."
"What’s the matter, Butler York? We still have work to finish."
"Exactly, we don’t want to be as idle as Butler York, with time to help women carry things and escort them back to their room."
Butler York frowned, speaking sternly: "You better watch your tongues! Young Master Yeats’ temper, you’re well aware. If you provoke him, even as long-standing employees, he won’t go easy on you."
"Oh dear, Butler York, did you take the wrong medicine? What bad deed did we commit? How did we provoke Young Master Yeats?"
"York, stop trying to scare us with Young Master Yeats! You probably like the one named Linden, don’t you? Seeing her about to leave, you come to trouble us? Too bad she wouldn’t even look at you, she’d rather latch onto Young Master Yeats!"
Slap~
Aunt Mason received a slap on the face.
