Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 561: Don’t Be Like This
CHAPTER 561: CHAPTER 561: DON’T BE LIKE THIS
Has the money been transferred?
Why did Mother say no?
Leon Keane was reluctant to think the worst of it. That was his mother. It’s one thing that she hated Ivana Monroe, but there was no reason to swindle Grandma’s money. The elder had already reached this age, and for the sake of Kane Group, she even gave up a manor she’d lived in for almost her entire life and handed over the Dragon Bracelet she’d worn nearly her whole life.
Why would Mother still lie?
Leon Keane painfully shut his eyes. "The things you covet belong to the Kane family. If I want them back, they must return to my hands."
The old man snorted on the other end. "Mr. Kane, I know you’re formidable in the homeland, but this is Meridia, not Ravenswood. So, don’t think you can do as you please. This manor and bracelet, I’m determined to have them."
The old man was a stubborn guy, and after saying this, he hung up the phone.
Hearing the dial tone in the phone, Leon Keane’s handsome face turned icy, and he casually dialed Derrick Stern’s new number.
"P-P-President Kane... how did you know my new number?"
"Is it hard to find out?"
Leon Keane asked lightly.
"N-No, it’s not difficult."
Derrick Stern suddenly remembered that President Kane was a top-notch hacker. If President Kane wanted to trace his number, it would indeed be a piece of cake.
"President Kane, I didn’t resign on purpose, it was because..."
"I know." Leon Keane interrupted Derrick Stern. "I need you to take care of something important right now."
"Please tell me, President Kane."
"I need you to make a trip to Meridia immediately. Find the person who bought the Kane family manor, and no matter what means you use, get the Kane family manor and my grandma’s Dragon Bracelet back from him."
Derrick Stern was extremely surprised.
The Kane family’s manor in Meridia? Wasn’t that where the old lady lived? And the Dragon Bracelet, just by the name, it seemed high-class, likely a cherished antique the old lady had worn for years. How could it suddenly be sold?
"Alright..."
Just as Derrick Stern opened his mouth, Secretary Sullivan gave him a fierce glare, a warning look.
Derrick Stern glanced at her belly, then changed his wording: "Um... President Kane, my woman is pregnant, and our families are preparing the wedding. If you send me to Meridia now, I’m afraid my mom and my mother-in-law won’t agree!"
Leon Keane frowned. Derrick Stern’s wife should be Secretary Sullivan, right? He didn’t expect she’d be pregnant so soon, about the same time as Ivana.
If not for the urgency of this matter, Leon Keane wouldn’t put Derrick Stern in a difficult spot. After all, a marriage is such a big deal, and his wife is pregnant. Staying to accompany his wife is very important.
"Once you take care of this, I’ll host a grand wedding for you at The Sovereign for free, and I’ll also give your child a top school district house in Ravenswood. Derrick, discuss it with Secretary Sullivan; this is your life decision, I won’t force you."
Secretary Sullivan heard Leon Keane’s words clearly.
Secretary Sullivan’s mouth was wide open in surprise.
"Alright." Derrick Stern covered the phone and whispered to Secretary Sullivan, "Honey, what do you think? If you don’t want me to go, I’ll refuse President Kane. He truly is a good boss, he said he wouldn’t force me..."
Secretary Sullivan poked Derrick Stern’s chest with her finger. "Are you stupid? Such a good opportunity, and you’re not accepting right away?"
Derrick Stern: "..."
Secretary Sullivan excitedly said, "The Sovereign is the most luxurious hotel in Ravenswood. Holding our wedding there is so prestigious and romantic, plus it’s free. Moreover, there’s a top school district house in Ravenswood, and you know that such homes are hard to come by. Even if you have the money, they are not easy to buy, and we don’t have that money!"
Secretary Sullivan felt like crying from happiness. Since getting pregnant, she had started worrying about the child’s education. She’d seen Ravenswood’s best school district houses, but they were too expensive and too hard to purchase.
Now, with Leon Keane suddenly offering them one, Secretary Sullivan felt like she was dreaming.
For her child’s education, not to mention Derrick not accompanying her, she’d be willing to wait a year, until Derrick returned from Meridia, and then hold the wedding after the child is born.
Derrick Stern was taken aback, not expecting such a reaction from Secretary Sullivan.
At first, when Secretary Sullivan had just found out she was pregnant, she was extremely nervous and wouldn’t let him leave her side, wanting him to stay home.
Derrick Stern understood Secretary Sullivan. She wasn’t greedy for money. How could she consent so quickly?
What Derrick Stern didn’t know was, as a mother, once a woman has children, the love and education for the child outweigh the husband’s presence.
"Are you sure? Can you manage at home alone?"
Derrick Stern feared Secretary Sullivan would regret it.
"Of course, I’m sure. You don’t need to worry about me. I can ask my parents to stay with me, or I can live with our parents. I can take care of myself. Just quickly agree with President Kane."
Secretary Sullivan urged.
"President Kane, we’ve discussed it, and she’s letting me go."
After Derrick Stern said this, he felt something was wrong. He seemed to have told President Kane earlier that his mom and mother-in-law wouldn’t agree.
Derrick Stern’s face immediately turned red with embarrassment. President Kane saw through him with one glance, and now he was contradicting himself.
"Okay, book a flight today and depart."
Leon Keane sternly finished speaking and hung up the phone.
Returning to the villa.
Leon Keane saw Fawn Rhodes sitting next to Ivana Monroe, slicing a peeled fruit into small pieces and placing them on a plate. She inserted a small golden fork, gently picked up a piece, and fed it to Ivana Monroe.
"Come, Ivana, the doctor said you need to eat more fruit, so the baby will have good skin. I’ll feed you."
Leon Keane’s black eyes darkened. He strode over and snatched the golden fork from Fawn Rhodes’ hand.
"My wife doesn’t need your feeding."
This brat acted towards Ivana Monroe like she was his wife. Did "he" want to put a green hat on his head?
Leon Keane knew in his heart that Ivana Monroe wouldn’t do anything unfaithful, but seeing Fawn Rhodes act this way in person, he couldn’t help but feel jealous.
"I peeled the apple, and I’m feeding Ivana for the sake of the baby in her belly. Is there anything wrong with that? Is this how you act, as her man?"
"Stop calling her Ivana; she’s my wife, and the baby inside is mine. If you have nothing else, you can leave."
Leon Keane bluntly shooed him off. This brat was too much of an eyesore here.
"Ivana, look at him..."
Fawn Rhodes tried to act coy to Ivana Monroe. He didn’t want to leave! Ivana had just gotten pregnant, and he wanted to stay and care for her.
Ivana Monroe gave Fawn Rhodes a reassuring look and said to Leon Keane, "Don’t be like this, Fawn’s intentions are good."
Leon Keane sneered. "His intentions are good?"
What good intentions can a man have towards a beautiful woman?
"Daddy, Uncle Rhodes was nice to me and Mommy abroad, you can’t bully her."
Timmy Monroe’s childlike voice rang out.
Leon Keane looked at his son and felt troubled, not because Timmy was speaking for Fawn Rhodes, but because he thought about Ivana and Fawn Rhodes knowing each other abroad and how he was good to Ivana. What does that imply?
