Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 571: Made a Mistake
CHAPTER 571: CHAPTER 571: MADE A MISTAKE
Fawn Rhodes went to help Ivana Monroe with the hospital admission.
"Doctor, please help me get a premium single room. I want to stay and take care of her myself."
"A premium room?"
The male doctor glanced at Fawn Rhodes, who looked quite delicate and was wearing red clothes, appearing quite flashy. This type of person would hardly be someone with power or influence. The premium rooms here were reserved for prominent figures in Ravenswood, not just anyone could stay in them.
"It doesn’t matter how much it costs, doctor, please."
Fawn thought the doctor was worried about her not having enough money, so she immediately clarified that she could afford it.
"It’s not about the money," the doctor said disdainfully. "There are only regular rooms available, three people per room. If you want it, I’ll arrange it for you. If not, you can take your friend to another hospital and try your luck!"
In other hospitals, aside from the small private ones, it’s possible to pay for a single room. But in large hospitals like this one, getting a premium single room is impossible. Sometimes even the regular rooms are full, and patients and pregnant women have to wait, let alone the premium rooms. They’re certainly not meant for ordinary people like this girl’s friend.
"Fawn, it’s not necessary to go through all that trouble."
Ivana Monroe, sitting beside, said, "A regular room will do!"
She didn’t care about what kind of room she was in. As long as she could keep her baby safe, a regular room was as good as any other place for her recovery.
The male doctor looked over at Ivana Monroe. Such a beautiful woman, why is she pregnant without her husband or family around? Instead, there’s this flashy guy? Could it be that she’s having an affair with this flashy guy?
The male doctor couldn’t help imagining all sorts of scenarios and subtly shook his head. If it’s really like what he thought, then this pretty woman wasn’t very decent either.
The room assignment was completed.
Fawn Rhodes helped Ivana Monroe into the room, where two other pregnant women were also being monitored. One was hooked up to a drip, eating a peeled orange, and the other was lying down playing on her phone. As they saw someone else entering, they almost simultaneously looked their way.
Whoa~
What a handsome and beautiful pair!
This couple was the most attractive they had ever seen.
The two pregnant women mistook Ivana Monroe and Fawn Rhodes as husband and wife.
Ivana Monroe’s bed was in the middle. After Fawn helped her lie down, she asked, "Ivana, are you thirsty? Let me pour you some water?"
Ivana nodded. From the Kane family’s old residence to the hospital, she hadn’t drunk a single drop of water and had expended a lot of energy. How could she not be thirsty?
"Oh, I’m so silly. I haven’t even bought you a water cup, what are we going to use to pour water?" Fawn smacked her forehead.
"Hey handsome, I have disposable cups here you can use." The pregnant woman on the right put down her phone and said to Fawn.
"Huh?" Fawn turned and took a disposable cup from the cabinet on the right, quickly expressing her thanks: "Thank you, thank you, little beauty."
The pregnant woman on the right blushed instantly: "You’re welcome."
The pregnant woman on the left sneered, oh, she’s trying to be nice. The guy already has a wife, does she think he would even notice her? Probably because the pregnant woman on the right’s husband is dark and ugly, so she couldn’t help trying to flirt as soon as she saw a handsome guy.
Fawn poured some warm water for Ivana. After she finished drinking, Ivana’s attending doctor arrived and prescribed her some medication for fetal protection and instructed the nurse to set it up.
"Ivana, I’m going outside the hospital to buy you some daily necessities. You rest first. If anything happens, call me, and I’ll be right by your side."
She had to stay in the hospital until the fetus was stable, so daily essentials were a must.
"There’s a bell at the head of the bed. Just press it, and the nurse will come. Can you stop being so mushy? Consider other people’s feelings, okay?" The pregnant woman on the left couldn’t stand Fawn’s "good husband" demeanor. She was about to vomit. This isn’t home, so can you stop being all lovey-dovey and cheesy and try to be civilized?
Fawn looked at the left pregnant woman, who had a mean face: "Cheesy? Why don’t I feel that way? Maybe you don’t have anyone who cares about you in your life? So you’re twisted inside and can’t stand seeing others cared for?"
Fawn never lost an argument.
"Who are you saying doesn’t have someone who cares about them? Who’s twisted inside? I just can’t stand your disgusting antics. If you want to be cheesy, go home and do it. A hospital room is a public place, being uncivilized is justifiable, isn’t it?"
"He’s just caring for his own wife; it’s not cheesy, is it? To say that’s uncivilized is a bit much,"
The pregnant woman on the right stood up for Fawn.
The left pregnant woman was completely riled up and mockingly said, "You’ve got a child and still stare at handsome guys, being all flirty, giving out disposable cups. Aren’t you afraid your husband will find out and beat you up?"
"I didn’t, I was just being kind, not in the way you’re thinking. My husband wouldn’t hit me."
"Oh, right, your husband’s dark and ugly, so of course he won’t beat you. Heaven forbid he scares you away. No wonder you keep staring at the handsome guy, because looking at your own husband makes you want to puke."
The pregnant woman on the right didn’t expect the left pregnant woman to escalate to a personal attack, getting so angry her face turned red: "Your mouth is so foul, did you not brush your teeth this morning?"
"Who are you saying didn’t brush their teeth? It’s you who didn’t. Oh, right, you brushed your teeth, but you couldn’t get them clean, and still dare to talk to the handsome guy, aren’t you afraid you’ll kill him with your breath?"
"You..." The pregnant woman on the right couldn’t match the left pregnant woman’s sharp tongue, and was so upset she started to cry.
"She’s not my husband; she’s a girl like us," Ivana quietly said from her hospital bed.
Both pregnant women were shocked to their core. What? A woman? Not a man?
The pregnant woman on the right wiped her tears and looked back at Fawn and noticed she really didn’t have an Adam’s apple. How could a woman be this handsome? Truly remarkable. No matter if Fawn is male or female, she gave her a good feeling, especially since she’s also a mother and doesn’t care about Fawn’s gender.
The woman on the left blushed, feeling as if she’d been slapped in the face. She had assumed they were a couple only to find out she was a woman too. What an embarrassing blunder. Her cheeks were burning.
Ivana turned her head, looking at the flushed woman on the left, and said calmly, "Don’t be too sharp-tongued; it’s not good for the child inside you."
The woman on the left stubbornly retorted, "You should take care of your own child! Stop lecturing others here."
Ivana ignored the woman on the left and closed her eyes to rest.
Leon Keane arranged for his grandmother to be admitted to a premium room and stayed with her for a while until she slowly regained consciousness, whispering, "Ivana... Ivana..."
"Grandma."
Leon Keane held his grandmother’s hand, asking with concern, "How are you feeling now?"
With cloudy eyes, his grandmother saw Leon beside the bed and immediately started to cry: "My dear grandson, your mother and I made a mistake."
Leon pressed his thin lips together, remaining silent. With his grandmother in this state, he couldn’t ask for details. Once she was settled, he would personally interrogate his mother to find out what really happened.
