Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 577: Judgment
CHAPTER 577: CHAPTER 577: JUDGMENT
"Ian, tell your daddy, grandma was telling the truth."
Leon’s mother was nearly driven mad with anger. Even at a time like this, Leon still doubted her?
Even if she was lying, as a son, he should unconditionally stand by her side.
"Grandma is lying. The injury on my hand wasn’t caused by mommy; I hurt myself trying to climb out after smashing a window."
Ian’s words were clean and decisive.
Leon’s mother was dumbfounded: "Ian, didn’t we agree? You... Why betray grandma?"
"Grandma, you used to teach me that children should be honest and not lie." Ian looked at her; perhaps she herself had forgotten this?
"I taught you not to lie, so why are you lying now? You’re lying to your daddy."
Leon’s mother desperately signaled Ian with her eyes, hoping he would change his tune and stand on her side.
But she was destined to be disappointed.
"I’m not lying."
Ian looked away, seriously focusing on Leon.
"Daddy believes you."
Leon reached out, patted Ian’s head, and pulled the little boy beside him.
"You’re lying, you’re lying to your daddy." Leon’s mother suddenly screamed, "Ian, why are you doing this? Did Ivana poison you? Are you afraid to offend her?"
Ian was startled by her sudden scream.
Leon shouted angrily, "Enough."
"Grandma has already told me what you did to Ivana at the old Kane family estate."
"What... what?"
Leon’s mother’s mind was blown, her body staggered back a few steps.
For a moment, her eyes showed a resentful glow. Why is that old witch still alive? Why doesn’t she just die? At her age, dying would be better. Alive, she only opposes me.
Leon took a deep breath and continued, "Apart from the old estate incident, what else have you done to Ivana? Do I need to say it out loud?"
"What did I do to her? I did nothing to her. Leon, you’re my son, don’t believe everything Ivana says, this is her scheme to drive a wedge between mother and son. Leon, be sensible!"
Seeing his mother’s unwillingness to change, Leon clapped his hands.
Bodyguards in black suits brought someone over and threw them in front of Leon’s mother.
"Mrs. Kane, please save me! I followed your instructions, extracted all of Kane Group’s funds, and transferred them to your account. You said President Kane is your son and wouldn’t do anything to me even if he found out. Please, Mrs. Kane, ask President Kane to spare me!"
"I’m just an obedient dog, boo hoo hoo..."
Harrison knelt at Mrs. Kane’s feet, clinging to her legs as if they were a lifeline.
"Stop talking nonsense. Who are you? I don’t know you..."
Mrs. Kane panicked, trying to kick Harrison away. This man was a fool to expose her secrets in front of Leon. Was she supposed to save him?
Die already!
Mrs. Kane thought bitterly.
"Mrs. Kane, you can’t cut ties like this! I gambled my future to work for you, and you treat me like this..." Harrison clung tightly to her leg, full of regret. Had he known the outcome, he would never have worked for her.
Leon’s mother was simply despicable, an utterly useless despicable person who dragged him down and now wanted to kick him away.
"Get away; I don’t know you. Get away from me. Leon... Call the bodyguards to drag him away."
Sick of Harrison, Mrs. Kane furiously swung her hand, hitting his head.
"If Mother refuses to acknowledge it, then Harrison’s actions warrant my harsh punishment. Such a sum of money! Perhaps I should cut off his hands and feet; what do you think, Mother?"
"Very well, scum like him deserves to have his limbs severed."
Mrs. Kane’s voice was cold and harsh in Harrison’s ears.
He suddenly stood, wrapping his arm around Mrs. Kane’s neck, speaking resentfully, "Mrs. Kane, I wholeheartedly worked for you, and you’re this vicious? I was blind to become your dog and help you do such things."
Mrs. Kane’s neck was tightly constricted; she felt suffocated, terrified, and said, "Leon, save me... save me... Harrison must have been sent by Ivana to kill me."
Even with her life threatened, she couldn’t help but incriminate Ivana.
"Harrison, don’t harm my mother; you can’t bear the consequences."
Leon’s dark eyes dangerously locked onto Harrison.
Harrison laughed, "Haha, Leon Keane, your mother is something else, plotting endlessly against your wife. She would love to see your wife dead. Look at her; even now, she throws blame onto your wife. Poor Ivana being your wife."
Leon, exuding coldness, said, "My family affairs are none of your concern. I will handle them. Release my mother, and I’ll spare your life."
"Spare my life? Sounds nice, but with such a wicked mother, even if I release her, she’d immediately want you to kill me."
Harrison now saw clearly how malicious Mrs. Kane was.
He tightened his arm around her neck, turning her face a livid hue, sneering, "Mrs. Kane, your heart is rotten; let’s die together!"
Mrs. Kane frantically slapped Harrison’s arm, "Let... let go... of me."
Ian’s face was cold and expressionless, tightly clenching his fists. Leon’s large hand rested on his small shoulder, preventing him from moving.
Leon signaled to a bodyguard with a sidelong glance.
The bodyguard nodded, and instantly, a bullet pierced Harrison’s forehead, blood trickling down his nose.
Harrison collapsed to the ground.
"Ah~"
Mrs. Kane screamed in fright.
Leon frowned. Once her screams subsided, he said, "Do I need to show you Harrison’s transfer records?"
Mrs. Kane’s legs gave out, rendering her speechless; Leon had obtained even this. Saying anything more was futile.
"I didn’t want to do this... sob sob sob..."
Her voice hoarse, she started crying again, feigning helplessness.
Leon closed his eyes, seemingly making a decision. Upon reopening them, he said, "I want you to write an apology to Ivana and leave Ravenswood as soon as possible, moving to the isolated island the Kane family owns in F Country."
"An apology? Why should I write her an apology? Who does she think she is? Leon, you’re my son, not hers. Even if I’ve wronged, you shouldn’t treat me this way for a woman. You can marry again if your wife dies, but a mother is irreplaceable. Don’t you understand this?"
Suddenly.
Something harshly struck Mrs. Kane’s face, injuring her and drawing blood.
"I... Ian..."
Ian’s eyes were fierce like a little wolf, "Don’t curse my mommy. If she dies, I’ll never forgive you."
