CHAPTER 584: CHAPTER 584: PRESS CONFERENCE

The mother of the Kanes got the money, bought a plane ticket, and returned to Ravenswood immediately.

Lucas Pierce drove to the airport to pick up her.

He looked at her in surprise. She didn’t look as glamorous as she used to. Her clothes seemed worn and dirty from being soaked in seawater, her half-black, half-white hair was messy, and she looked fairly disheveled.

If she hadn’t called out to Lucas Pierce, he would never believe that the old woman in front of him was her.

"Aunt, what happened to you?"

Lucas Pierce asked in shock.

She replied angrily, "Isn’t it thanks to Ivana Monroe and Leon Keane?"

"Aunt, you’re too useless to be messed up so badly by Ivana Monroe. Grandfather was even beaten by her because of you. Ivana Monroe says she runs the Kane family now, and you’re worth nothing. She can do whatever she likes to you," Lucas remarked, watching her face turn blue. "You’re at least Leon Keane’s mother, how could things go this far? I don’t think Leon Keane treats you like a mother at all. Who prioritizes their wife over their mother like this?"

The more Lucas Pierce talked, the more livid she felt.

The son she had raised and lavished her affection on since he was a child treated her like this because of Ivana Monroe.

If she had known, she shouldn’t have brought Leon Keane home and raised him as her son; she should have killed him with her own hands.

They got in the car.

"Aunt, what are your plans now? Should I take you to the Kane family villa? Teach Ivana Monroe a lesson first?" Lucas Pierce, seated in the front and driving, suggested, "That way, you and Grandfather can vent some anger."

He was thinking of asking for money.

Lucas Pierce had this in mind but didn’t mention it to avoid her thinking he was suggesting going to the Kane family villa for the money.

"No."

She refused.

Lucas Pierce was taken aback. What did she mean? Not daring to confront Ivana Monroe?

"Jackie, I need you to do something for me."

"What is it?"

"Contact all the media in Ravenswood. I want to hold a press conference tomorrow."

Lucas Pierce’s body shivered; was this what she intended...?

"Exactly, tomorrow I want everyone in Ravenswood to know that the Kane family married a venomous wife. I will turn Ivana Monroe into the city’s shame, with everyone shouting at her."

After being sent to a lonely island in F Country by Leon Keane, she realized Leon’s attitude towards her. Since Leon was like this because of Ivana Monroe, she wouldn’t hesitate anymore. She would expose the ’family scandal’ and push Ivana Monroe into the public spotlight. She wanted to see if Ivana Monroe would still have the face to stay in Ravenswood or with the Kane family.

As long as Ivana Monroe left the Kane family, she would send someone to finish her off, no matter where she went.

"Alright, aunt, leave it to me!"

Lucas Pierce was excited, not expecting her to use such a brutal move right after returning. This was much more effective than confronting Ivana Monroe head-on. Once her unscrupulous deeds were exposed, could Ivana Monroe still survive in Ravenswood?

Leon Keane might also be overwhelmed by the public pressure and get rid of Ivana Monroe.

Then the Kane family would return to her control, and she could withdraw money freely.

The ultimate beneficiary would surely be him!

With Grandfather’s teeth knocked out and power returned to her, he and Grandfather could demand more from her.

Ivana Monroe had just woken up when she received a call from Stacy Floyd.

"Ivana, have you seen today’s news?"

"Not yet, what news?"

Stacy hesitated for two seconds, then asked, "Where’s Leon Keane? Can you give him the phone? I need to talk to him."

Ivana Monroe frowned. What kind of news made Stacy so anxious? Why would she need Leon?

"He’s not here."

"What? He’s not there? Please, you’re pregnant, and he’s not by your side taking care of you but off working instead? Kane Group is huge, aren’t there enough idle people there? Does he have to work while you’re pregnant?"

Stacy Floyd was very angry, especially after watching the live news. She was even angrier and blamed Leon Keane more.

"No, he didn’t go to work; he went to F Country." Ivana Monroe quickly explained, hearing Stacy screech. She quickly added, "Stacy, don’t worry yet, things are not how you think. He went to F Country because his mother went missing."

Stacy Floyd made a strange laugh, "He went to F Country to find the person, and of course, his mother is missing because she’s now in Ravenswood."

Ivana Monroe was surprised, "Stacy, are you sure? Has she really returned to Ravenswood? Where did you see her?"

"Very sure; not only did I see her, almost all the people in Ravenswood have seen her. She’s holding a press conference, crying her eyes out to tarnish your reputation!"

Ivana Monroe frowned, picked up the TV remote, and turned on the TV in the room.

Her face appeared on the TV, with lots of microphones in front of her, wiping tears as if she had suffered a great grievance.

She said on TV, "Please don’t think it’s my son’s... Leon Keane’s fault; he was forced helplessly by Ivana, who said she was pregnant and threatened him with the child to send me to the isolated island in F Country. Also, Ivana bribed people on the island to push me into the sea; Heaven showed mercy on this poor old woman, lest I survived by chance."

Ivana Monroe was speechless, she was good at lying; when did she ever threaten Leon? She was sent away because of her evil deeds.

"I saw it." Ivana told Stacy Floyd over the phone, "She’s telling blatant lies."

"Yes, she is. I think someone as horrible as her deserves divine retribution," Stacy Floyd said angrily, "Ivana, give me Leon’s phone number; I’m going to call him."

She needed to hold Leon accountable for his mother’s deliberate attempt to incriminate her, he had to handle it properly and also clear Ivana’s name.

"No need."

"How can that be? Ivana, don’t be foolish, can’t you see? Leon’s mother is deliberately holding a press conference when Leon Keane is absent in Ravenswood, fabricating stories to trap you. This matter is best solved by Leon himself." Furthermore, it should be solved quickly to avoid damaging Ivana’s reputation.

Because when false information is repeated, it spreads from one to ten, ten to a hundred, and eventually might become the truth.

"Once he’s back, the press conference will be over." Ivana said, "Stacy, tell me her location, I’m heading there right now."

"But, you’re pregnant..."

"It’s okay, I’m not going to fight her, there won’t be any problems."

"Fine then!" Stacy gave Ivana the address and added, "I’ll wait for you here."

"Alright."

Ivana quickly changed out of her pajamas and told the matriarch reading the newspaper with reading glasses in the living room that she was going out to buy something. The matriarch had Fawn Rhodes accompany Ivana.

"Ivana, didn’t you say you were going to the supermarket? We’ve already passed it..."

"She’s back and opening a press conference to slander me."
