CHAPTER 591: CHAPTER 591: MEETING

Stacy Floyd’s head hurt from being hit by the script. She covered her head and angrily said, "If I don’t want to act, I won’t act! How dare you throw this at me?"

The director pointed at her and said, "Because this is a film set, and I’m the director of this show. If you don’t want to act, then get lost! Don’t you understand human language?"

This was definitely an insult to Stacy Floyd.

Stacy was furious and was about to argue with the director when her assistant grabbed her hand, looking at her pleadingly.

"Sister, hold your temper for a moment and everything will calm down. Take a step back, and the world will open up." The assistant whispered, "The breach of contract penalty is very high. Please, sister, don’t be reckless anymore."

Reckless?

Is this her being reckless?

The director started with her first and even hit her with a script. Should she smile and say: Director, you have good aim! You hit my head! If you’re still angry, feel free to hit me again to vent your anger?

"Sister, when you came in, you agreed. Don’t be mad at the director. He did it out of impatience while waiting for you. If you just admit the mistake and soften a bit, today’s incident will be over."

The assistant kept pleading in front of Stacy Floyd. This was not only about her career but also the assistant’s. Assistants always want their masters to succeed more and more; the last thing they want to see is their master on a downward path.

"Why aren’t you leaving yet? Let me tell you, Stacy Floyd, unless you kneel down and apologize, I will never use you again."

The director’s tone was arrogant.

Stacy was fuming: "You want me to kneel down and apologize? Dream on. I won’t starve just because I don’t act in your show."

The director’s face turned livid as he shouted angrily at Stacy’s departing figure, "Fine, Stacy Floyd, remember what you said today. I’ll make sure you never succeed in the entertainment industry. Who do you think you are, an almost washed-up star, still so arrogant? What the hell!"

Stacy walked out of the film set as the assistant ran after her.

The assistant cried, "Sister, why did you have to be so impulsive? Now we have to pay a huge penalty for breach of contract, and Director Arnold talks fast in the industry. He’ll make sure everyone knows, and who will dare to hire you in the future?"

Stacy sneered, "Let him spread the word. The mouth is on his face, he can say what he wants. Can anyone stop him?"

The assistant really admired Stacy’s optimistic attitude, but she couldn’t be as optimistic as Stacy.

"Sister, aren’t you worried at all?"

"What good does worrying do? Regardless, I will never turn back and kneel to apologize to him. Who does he think he is? Does he deserve my kowtow?"

Assistant: "..."

A few hours later.

Leon Keane had just gotten off the plane when he received several messages from banks, all of them informing him that his mother had reported a lost card and was applying for a new one.

Originally, these messages wouldn’t have been sent to his phone because his mother was missing, and they found her clothes in the sea with a bank card. So someone advised him that if his mother was still alive and left the island, she would surely report her bank card lost, as she wouldn’t get far without money. So Leon immediately contacted several bank presidents to arrange for them to notify him only if his mother went to the bank.

In Ravenswood, getting a new card takes at least a week, and at most fifteen to thirty working days.

Leon immediately called several banks, asking them to freeze his mother’s bank account. After freezing it, they would inform his mother.

About ten minutes later.

His mother’s call came through: "Leon, what do you mean by freezing my money? Are you in cahoots with Ivana Monroe now, trying to drive me to death?"

Leon was silent, probably not expecting his mother to call just to curse him without even asking why?

His mother was on the other end of the phone, annoyed by not hearing anything from Leon: "Talk! Are you dumb?"

This was very different from the mother Leon once knew; it was as if she had changed completely.

Leon’s voice was hoarse: "I want to talk to you in person."

His mother felt something was off. What was there to talk about? He must be planning to drag her back to the island in F Country, right?

Lucas Pierce was right next to his mother. Seeing her hesitation, he secretly signaled her to agree because meeting in person could benefit him!

Now, his mother had no money. Even her bank account was frozen by Leon. He couldn’t possibly keep supporting her! Leon had to solve this. Oh, and his aunt owed him ten thousand too!

He must make Leon pay him back.

His mother ignored Lucas’s signals, seemingly on purpose, but Lucas simply took the phone from her hands: "Leon! Your mom is with me now. When are you free? Tonight or tomorrow morning? We’ll be waiting for you at home."

"Jackie, what are you doing?"

His mother tried to get the phone back, but Lucas, being tall, raised it above his head. No matter how she stretched out her hand, she couldn’t reach it. She had to wait for Lucas to hang up.

Only then did she snatch the phone back from Lucas, angrily pounding his chest, "I don’t need you making decisions for me, Jackie! You’re getting more and more out of line."

Mr. Peng came over, holding a decorative flower stick, hitting her on the body, causing her to jump up.

"Dad, why are you hitting me?"

"You feel pain too? Do you think my grandson didn’t feel pain when you hit him?" Mr. Peng defended, "The one out of line is you. Jackie kindly got Leon to come over, yet you still blame him. And keep in mind who gave you those ten thousand? Now who’s supporting your living? As an aunt, act like one, humph."

His mother felt very uncomfortable and started crying: "Dad, haven’t I given Jackie enough money? Now he only gives me ten thousand and some food, yet you’re picking on me for that?"

Mr. Peng said, "You’re his aunt. No matter how much you give him, it’s your duty. He’s your junior, and he has no reason to give you money or to support you."

His mother incredulously stared at Mr. Peng. When Mr. Peng coaxed her into giving Lucas money back then, he didn’t say that. He said that Lucas could be relied on. Now he’s saying it’s not right, and she feels deceived.

Being betrayed by family is a thousand times more painful than betrayal by strangers.

Lucas noticed something was wrong with her expression, so he stepped in and said, "Grandpa, don’t talk like that about my aunt. Her son is wealthy, so when he comes, he’ll surely help her pay me back."

"Right, Aunt?"
