CHAPTER 598: CHAPTER 598: LOOKING FOR FATHER

Lucas Pierce noticed the situation and instead of panicking, he smiled: "Aunt, you spit blood, are you worried about grandpa? Why not go down and accompany him? You’ve never had children in your life, and now you have nothing, living can only harm others. Grandpa died lonely, you’re so filial, why not accompany him on his way to the underworld, I’ll even erect a filial piety monument for you."

Leon Keane’s mother fainted from anger.

Old Mr. Pierce passed away.

Ivana Monroe learned about it from Stacy Floyd’s call, she was a bit surprised because Old Mr. Pierce was very healthy, just recently he was causing trouble for her here with Leon’s mother and Lucas Pierce.

Unexpectedly, in just a few days, Old Mr. Pierce passed away.

Ivana suddenly felt that what happened before was ironic, as if the farewell music was played in advance for Old Mr. Pierce.

"Alright, I’m about to start shooting, I’ll hang up now, when I have time, I’ll come see you and my godson."

"Okay."

Ivana originally wanted to ask if Director Arnold had troubled Stacy after she went in last time. Hearing Stacy say she was about to start shooting, Ivana didn’t ask, she couldn’t delay Stacy’s work any further.

"Sis, where do you get to shoot these days?" the assistant complained.

Ever since Stacy offended Director Arnold, all the roles she was supposed to audition for called and said they didn’t need her to audition anymore because the actor had already been decided. No matter how she begged, they refused, saying it was orders from above and they couldn’t do anything.

With no roles, the assistant tried to get endorsements, her legs were almost broken from running around yesterday, and although the price was lowered, as soon as the brands heard Stacy’s name, they immediately refused.

Needless to say, it was Director Arnold causing trouble behind the scenes.

The assistant was going mad with anxiety! Yet looking at Stacy, she didn’t seem to care. She moved from a luxury mansion to a modest apartment, without any qualms, still worrying about Ivana’s matters here.

Ivana, after all, is Leon Keane’s wife, living a smooth-sailing high life at the top of Ravenswood.

The assistant was most infuriated that Stacy, despite her circumstances, didn’t tell Ivana, since as long as Ivana had Leon help, what was Director Arnold to her? He could easily be crushed underfoot.

"Even without acting, I won’t starve." Stacy picked up pistachios from the table, peeled them, and tossed them into her mouth, savoring the aroma.

"Indeed, you won’t starve, but sis is so beautiful, so talented, and finally made a name in the entertainment industry, are you really resigned to being blacklisted by Director Arnold?"

"Resigned."

Stacy lowered her long eyelashes, hiding the emotion in her eyes. So what if she wasn’t resigned? Directors have their circles, and actors have theirs. Directors use these tactics to control actors, it’s no surprise.

Moreover, if she truly wanted to make a comeback, it wasn’t impossible. Other directors had hinted to her that all it took was having drinks with sponsors or even doing certain things. She disdained climbing up through such means and rejected such directors immediately.

Director Arnold is the most petty in the industry, demanding of actors, but to say he dominates Ravenswood single-handedly, that’s impossible. However, she’d offended many directors, and once the fuse of Director Arnold was lit, the explosion happened, and she was completely blacklisted.

"Even if you’re resigned, I’m not!" The assistant was on the verge of tears: "Sis, Ivana is your best friend, why don’t you ask her for help? As long as Leon..."

Stacy frowned, interrupting the assistant: "She’s pregnant, you are not to tell her about this. If you dare tell her, we’re done."

Ivana had already had a threatened miscarriage, Stacy wouldn’t trouble her best friend with this. She hoped Ivana could safely give birth to her child.

Stacy gave the assistant a warning look. She would never forget, six years ago, seeing Ivana heavily pregnant, covered in blood, on the verge of dying. Just the thought made her tremble slightly. As long as Ivana could be safe and healthy, giving up a profession, even leading a normal life, she’d be willing; friendship lasts a lifetime.

The assistant was so frustrated; she couldn’t understand why Stacy cared so much for Ivana. It was just asking Ivana to let Leon help, what’s the big deal?

The assistant didn’t take Stacy’s warning seriously. She decided to secretly tell Ivana because only Ivana could help Stacy.

Even if it meant Stacy would be furious with her, she had to speak up. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to be Stacy’s assistant anymore, she’d be ruined, which was worse than any scolding.

Ivana hung up the phone, then went to play cards with Fawn Rhodes to keep Lady Keane company.

When Leon Keane arrived and called them for dinner, the three finally stopped. Lady Keane had a paper stuck to each cheek and ear, Fawn Rhodes was covered in papers, but Ivana’s face was clean.

Lady Keane looked at Fawn’s paper-covered face and chuckled with a sense of superiority: "Fawn, your skill is too poor, if it weren’t for my grandson arriving, your eyes would be full of these."

Fawn huffed: "Lady Keane, you cheat, pulling Timmy and Ian to be your strategists every day, it’s three against one, of course, I lose the most."

Lady Keane glanced at Ivana and said: "It’s not that we’re three against one, we’re three against two, why the big difference between you and my granddaughter-in-law?"

Fawn was speechless because Ivana was so good at playing cards.

Fawn saw Lady Keane’s smugness and suddenly laughed: "That’s right, I’m not as good, but still better than Lady Keane. Despite your two little strategists, you still couldn’t beat my dear Ivana, hehehe..."

Lady Keane: "..."

Timmy’s childish voice said: "Uncle Rhodes, you cannot bully the elderly!"

Fawn tore off a piece of paper from her face and stuck it on Timmy’s little face: "Can’t bully the elderly, so I bully little ones."

Lady Keane reached out to cuddle Timmy: "You naughty girl, how can you bully my little Timmy?"

The room was filled with laughter.

Ivana watched the lively scene, joining in the laughter.

Ian Keane couldn’t take it; he was a kid who preferred quiet, and he clung to Ivana.

Ivana casually noticed Leon Keane take out his phone from his pocket and walk outside.

Ivana found it odd. Leon’s phone always had a ringtone, when did he set it to vibrate?

Leon stepped outside, his hand in the pocket of his dress pants, and answered the call.

"President Keane, the elderly couple selling Lady Keane’s estate refuse to part with it. They said if President Keane wants the estate back, you have to find their granddaughter taken by traffickers."

The caller was Derrick Stern.

"Got it, have them give you the granddaughter’s characteristics, the time, and location she was last seen," Leon paused, then asked: "Have you found my father yet?"
