Chapter 72: Golden Sun City II
CHAPTER 72: GOLDEN SUN CITY II
With the Endless Tower option tossed aside, Rhys opened his friend list and tapped Mia’s name.
The call connected after only a few rings.
"Rhys?" Her voice was a mix of surprise and cautious curiosity. "What’s with the sudden call? I’m in the middle of a quest."
"Drop it," he said plainly. "I need you in Beginner Village. Now."
There was a pause. "...Beginner Village? I’m way past that level. What are you plotting?"
"You’ll find out when you get here." His tone left no room for argument. "Trust me—this is something you won’t want to miss."
She sighed, muttering something under her breath, but eventually agreed. "Fine. Five minutes."
Rhys smirked and closed the interface. He made his way to the teleportation gate, selecting the familiar coordinates for the one of the very first village in the game.
The moment he stepped through, the crisp, nostalgic air of Beginner Village hit him—rolling green fields, low wooden fences, and the distant chatter of NPCs going about their routines. It was a place players outgrew quickly... but for what he had planned, it was perfect.
By the time Mia arrived, dressed in her signature pale-blue armor and radiating an icy aura even at low-level areas, she looked completely out of place among the newbies wielding rusted swords.
"This better be good," she said, walking toward him. "I had a dungeon run lined up."
Rhys just smiled—then smack!
"Ehhh? What are you doing?!" Mia mumbled, rubbing her butt where he had just slapped her.
"That’s how you treat your Young Master?" he asked casually.
She stiffened, straightening her posture and pouting. "Who told you I have to talk to you normally?"
"Who told you to talk back to me?" he countered—smack!—another slap landing on her butt, which might have even left a mark this time.
"Listen," he said, leaning closer so his voice dropped to a low, almost domineering tone, "I was going to give you an gift... but it seems I have to remind you who’s in charge."
Mia’s eyes widened as his hand lightly tilted her chin upward, holding her gaze. For an instant, her face flushed bright red, but she quickly averted her eyes, lowering her head.
Without another word, Rhys led her back to the inn. Once inside, he firmly guided her to sit on the bed. Leaning down, he smirked. "Your punishment begins now," he murmured, voice low with intent.
Her face turned crimson, but she didn’t resist—only glared at him with a mixture of defiance and embarrassment. And then for the next few hours her melodious moans rang in the room as when he was done she was left panting with flushed face.
After some hours, Rhys finally decided it was time to get back to work.
He led her to an open field where creatures floated lazily in the air. Semi-transparent and shimmering, they were air slimes—slightly rarer than the common ones.
"Okay, tame one of these—any one you want. You still have an empty pet slot, right?" Rhys asked.
She looked at him in disbelief. "You want me to tame a slime? The weakest pet that can exist in FLO?" she shot back, narrowing her eyes at him. "You’re not messing with me again, right?"
Rhys only smirked. "Just tame one, and you’ll see what I mean later."
Mia gave him the best wide-eyed, puppy-dog look she could manage, but he didn’t budge. She even gave him a playful swat in protest, but in the end, she grumbled and stepped toward one of the air slimes.
Despite her non-tamer class, the taming process was quick and easy thanks to slimes being the weakest and calmest pets in FLO. Unlike Beast Masters and Tamers, other classes in FLO could only have two pets at most.
Mia’s first pet was an Ice Wyvern. Wyverns were among the most sought-after pets in the game—not only were they powerful in battle, but they could also fly, making them highly versatile.
However, they were also prideful creatures, notoriously difficult to tame. The only way to succeed was to defeat them in a one-on-one fight—something only a handful of players could manage, as wild Wyverns in FLO were classified as raid boss–tier monsters.
As she finished taming the air slime, Mia turned to Rhys."So... what now?" she asked.
Without answering, he simply took her hand and led her to another spot. This time, the area was dotted with fire slimes—living blobs of flame drifting lazily across the scorched ground. Grey ash swirled through the air around them, heat radiating from every direction.
"I don’t have any more taming slots," she said, thinking he was going to make her tame yet another slime.
"Just follow me," Rhys replied.
He brought her to a place where the slime was spawning—one born from fires. The Fire Slime Spawner. And then he placed puddle on it and begun to feed him the Slime cores, soon Puddle acquired the Ancient Fire Magic and element too.
Rhys nodded as he unsummoned him and then said to Mia who was just looking gobsmacked after seeing the Puddle.
"don’t worry, you are going to get one now too" he said as he told her to place the Air slime on the Spawner, she nodded as she placed her newly tamed pet on it.
Rhys then handed her a large stack of slime cores and told her to feed it. She nodded, crouched down, and began feeding the newly tamed slime one core after another.
Then, something unexpected happened. In front of her, the slime suddenly shimmered and evolved into something extraordinary—powerful enough to rival her Ice Wyvern.
Not only that but she also just obtained a second-class option for her character, but it wasn’t just any class—it was a Special Class, the highest rarity ranking in FLO. She stared at the message in disbelief, then slowly turned to Rhys for an explanation.
He only smiled.
"...How do you keep giving me gifts like this?" she muttered, cheeks slightly flushed. "Do you... need another blowjob?"
She said it without a shred of shame. Rhys blinked at her bluntness.
"Maybe later," he replied casually. "Also, as you can see—gaining this second class means you’re now reset to level 1."
"This is fine," Mia said without hesitation. "Special classes aren’t something you come by easily. I’ll gladly accept this."
Right there on the spot, she confirmed the change. Her rank dropped from Rank 2 back to Rank 0, her level officially reset to 1.
Rhys glanced at her new status screen, a faint grin tugging at his lips."So... want me to help you level back up?" he asked.
Mia’s eyes flicked over her own status window. "Ancient Tamer..." she whispered. "You’ve got to be kidding me..."
She looked at him, realization dawning. "You planned this from the start, didn’t you?"
"Maybe," Rhys said with a small shrug. "Now you’re not just a wyvern rider—you can handle beasts most players can’t even look at without getting killed."
Her lips curved into a smirk. "Fine. But if you’re helping me grind back up, I’m not pulling punches. You better be ready to power-level me fast."
"Good," he said, stepping closer. "Because I already know where to start—somewhere with enough monsters to take you from level 1 to 20 in under two minutes."
Mia’s eyes sparkled. "You have my attention."
System notifications flickered briefly in her vision:
[ You have unlocked the Special Class: Ancient Tamer ][ All Taming Limits Removed – You may command beasts of any level or rarity ][ Skill Bonus: +50% Beast Affinity, +25% Damage dealt by tamed beasts ][ Level Reset: 1 → Rank 0 ]
Her heart was pounding. She clenched her fists."Alright, young master. Let’s go break the game."
The party invite pinged instantly.
[ Party formed: Rhys – Mia ]
Without wasting time, Rhys led her deep into the Dendrous Ruins—an overgrown labyrinth of moss-coated pillars and shattered stone halls. The air shimmered faintly, heavy with mana residue from the countless monsters lurking inside.
For the next hour, it was pure, relentless grinding.
Mia, now radiating the chilling majesty of her first class Ice Queen, froze entire hordes in place with a flick of her hand. Shards of glacial magic rained down, shattering the vinebeasts before they could even roar. Beside her, The Fiery Wind Slime spun through the battlefield in a blazing, tornado-like roll—its molten body whipping through enemies and leaving trails of scorched wind in its wake.
Every time a rare elite appeared, Rhys would pin it down with surgical strikes, letting her finish it for the maximum EXP gain.
By the end, a system chime echoed in her mind:
[ Rank 0 – Peak Level Achieved ]
Mia exhaled slowly, frost still curling from her breath. "One hour. You weren’t kidding."
Rhys smirked. "Told you."
She opened her menu, eyes drawn to the glowing [ Rank Trial Available ] prompt. She’d done it before and could technically skip it... but this time, everything felt different. The power of the Ancient Beast thrummed through her veins, and her bonded beasts radiated strength far beyond what she’d had before.
"I’m doing it again," she said, voice firm.
He raised an eyebrow. "Confident?"
"Very."
