Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild
Chapter 44 - 43: Divergent Paths
CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 43: DIVERGENT PATHS
[Fire Elemental Creation]
[A combat creation formed by the aggregation of fire elements through Elemental Summoning Spell, attacking relentlessly, will continuously repair its body with elements until the Magic Power inputted by the Imperial Envoy is exhausted, without stopping the fight]
[Species: Element]
[Combat Wisdom: Tier 4]
[Servant: None]
[Energy Source: None]
[Physical Strength: Flame Body, Tier 3.]
[Special Attack: Grand Detonation]
[Skills: Elemental Body]
[Combat Power Amplification: 0]
The fire elemental creation landed in front, soldiers raised their Magic Gun to shoot, but the Energy Bullets had negligible damage against the fire elemental creation.
They were just flames, fast-moving, sweeping across the deck directly to the Magic guided Power Furnace at the end of the deck.
A fire elemental hugged the furnace, directly performing its special attack.
"Boom—!"
The Tier Four Magic caused explosion, sending large waves of flame and shockwaves, almost toppling over half the soldiers on the deck.
The furnace’s casing was made of Extraordinary Materials, not destroyed in the blast, just showing signs of disintegration.
Yet another hugged the furnace.
Several brave soldiers attempted to approach the fire elementals, but were scorched screaming upon getting close.
"Boom—!"
The shockwaves burst open the casing, the blast destroyed the interior parts, causing the large molten soulstone drawing Magic Power to overload directly, and other alternating molten soulstones also neared critical levels.
Multiple large molten soulstones overheated and exploded in succession, nearly blowing the tail of the Flying Airship directly apart.
The Flying Airship’s speed sharply decreased and then slowly halted.
"So this was possible?" Zoe widened her eyes finishing the fireworks display.
"In adventures, sometimes finding the weak spot is all it takes to achieve easy victory." Li Ang smiled, "Magic guided Technology may allow Low tier Professionals to wield some power, these Flying Airships are as fast as traditional Flying Airships engraved with High-tier Magic Arrays, but against strong opponents, the weakness is too evident."
For capable Sky Knights, they wouldn’t prioritize purchasing warships. Ships may be equipped with Ship Cannon, but against supernatural magical creatures and other adventurers, the effect is limited.
If truly using the ship as a Weapon for high-cost investment to buy powerful ship cannons, it’s better to craft a set of good Equipment, wearing such Equipment, crippling a warship’s Military Equipment alone isn’t a problem.
However, the other two pursuing warships showed no sign of slowing, neither rescuing colleagues who may fall into Bloody Red Land due to gradually losing power, nor fearing the possibility of suffering the same attack.
"These guys..."
Li Ang felt surprised at their madness.
"Why do they have to capture me?" Zoe clutched Eden’s long fur, her voice blurred in the wind.
Holy Speriel Empire, Li Ang vaguely heard this name. Countless nations in the Aerial Realm, places worth noting he would immediately recall, it should be some rather unobtrusive force.
It’s unknown what incident they encountered, suddenly acquiring large amounts of Magic guided Technology Military Equipment, and targeting Zoe.
Eden sensed the Star Soul upon arriving before, then Star Soul Greenhouse, and the Empire? From their capturing children using strange instruments for detection, their target from the start was Zoe.
Could it be related to her parents?
The instrument’s power should be akin to the Black Lightning Cannon, Li Ang planned to take it for identification with a known Appraiser.
All in all, this Empire evidently was the early antagonist of the game’s narrative.
Li Ang prepared to summon fire elements again, Eden at this moment roared: "Be careful!"
Amidst the mist ahead, two even larger Magical Flying Ships revealed their ship bows.
Alongside seeing them, the giant wolf began creating hanging Ice Shields at the forefront.
It turned out there were more than five Imperial Ships arriving nearby in the Aerial Realm, able to call for reinforcements.
These two ships intercepting midway quickly closed distance, with height differing, aiming to completely block the route ahead, while at their bows, two strange giant cannons started charging.
"Warning to flying magical creatures, this is the main ship of the first fleet from the Holy Speriel Empire Knight Order, here to arrest the Empire felon! Cease escaping, surrender!"
A sharp announcement rang from the large ship, amplified through loudspeakers, clear in the night wind.
"Felon? Referring to me? What did I do wrong?" Zoe seemed bewildered.
Li Ang turned to look at her, for the young girl, she was merely repeating monotonous days, newly finding her goal, envisioning the future.
She never got involved in disputes full of interests and dangers, utterly unable to understand why the suddenly arriving violent Imperial Army targeted her.
"That’s just their hypocritical excuse, wear the Helmet," Li Ang reached out to help the young girl adjust the helmet, "Don’t let them see your face."
"Stop, last warning!" The large ship continued announcing.
"Both of you, be careful!"
Before Eden, two ship bow cannons entwined with writhing purple flesh tissue fired in unison, suddenly casting a black electric net, directly blocking the giant wolf’s path.
Most lightning was blocked by the created Ice Shields, the giant wolf pressed down on the cloud head, intensely gyrating.
The intense maneuver caused Zoe to exclaim several times, while Li Ang gripped the giant wolf’s fur tightly, sensing the root of that lightning.
Such strange Spirituality, unlike all substances and energy seen before, it carried a sharp death aura, yet differed from the King of Wyrms encountered not long ago, the latter filled with decay, seeming less pure than this black lightning.
But in terms of power alone, this lightning’s Magic Power aligned with the Transcendent Tier, surely causing damage to Eden from other levels.
Zoe now also has the Power of the Star Soul, mustn’t let her be touched by this lightning.
Eden continuously dodged several bolts of lightning, but the final few black lightning bolts came at tricky angles, narrowly scraping by its spine, to prevent the lightning from harming Zoe and Li Ang on its back, the giant wolf could only adjust its angle, bearing the attacks with its body.
"Whimper—"
The giant wolf’s wail caused the young girl to bite her lip, she lay on the giant wolf’s back, channeling power to heal it.
As Eden whirled and evaded, the two ships at the back also caught up, forming a blockade.
At the moment if the four ships fired again, it might become unavoidable.
Li Ang caught sight of a nearby group of islands with the corner of his eye.
He recognized the place, a series of small islands connected by fallen giant trees and ancient vines, known as Aomori Islands.
Turns out with one fleeing and one chasing, they’ve already flown to this Aerial Realm.
Li Ang took a deep breath, some realization dawned in his heart.
The outline of initial storyline in "Nebis Fantasy" became clearer in his mind.
Aomori Islands, also known as the novice trial grounds. Its intricate terrain and jungle harbor大量低阶魔物,整座岛最强的魔物也不超过5阶.
Due to the abundance of monster species, many rookie Adventurers would target the place, refining Professional Skills while acquiring Monster Material for money and Equipment crafting.
If Li Ang hadn’t intervened, Zoe’s fate would’ve been encountering Eden while being pursued by the Speriel Empire, and though the giant wolf was powerful, not knowing why the Empire mastered bizarre black lightning, unable to evade sky blockage, struck by lightning, the injured wolf could only take Zoe into Qingsen Island.
It was there that it taught Zoe the method of controlling Star Soul Power, and the girl also grew stronger battling monsters.
As a game, it’s indeed the right arrangement, as gameplay acts as a major theme, progressing through the storyline without players missing out on monster fights.
But, Li Ang didn’t intend for such a thing to happen.
He wanted to quickly form a competent team, had no time to consume time on Aomori Islands, Low Tier Demons lat everywhere, nor was Zoe required to practice there.
At the same time, the Empire’s strange power instilled urgency, regardless of Zoe’s fate, he wouldn’t hope her to encounter hardship, wished for her to get strong quickly for facing challenges.
Li Ang summoned a storm: "I’ll go stop those ships."
