Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild
Chapter 53 - 52: Wind Chaser’s Holy Bell
CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 52: WIND CHASER’S HOLY BELL
The assistance sought by Wendes was just a drop in the ocean. Even though there were adventurers of transcendent realm among them, Lanslow, invigorated by Li Ang’s spiritual activation, seemed like a war god.
His standard equipment from the Order Sky Knight Corps saw a significant performance enhancement, coupled with his own Tier Seven professional skills. Amplified by spiritual activation, his control over magic power and physical explosiveness directly surged. The barrage of magic bullets and multiple blades flew down like a torrential rain, knocking down the enemies coming at them in droves.
At the last moment, Wendes attempted to use his equipment to fly out of the ship and escape, but Li Ang kicked him down to the ground.
The two were supported by a magic power airflow, aided by the air shield provided by the exquisite equipment, ensuring Wendes wouldn’t be kicked to death, although the pain prevented him from getting up.
Lanslow then arrived on the ground, surrounded by the other military forces of Spark Port.
They held weapons, maintaining a rigorous formation, yet posed no substantial threat. They merely demonstrated a stance, ensuring the port wouldn’t descend into complete chaos, while also maintaining the dignity of the rulers.
"Phew, now I understand why the young lady is so fond of you. This trick is really satisfying, just a bit exhausting afterwards. Only someone with the young lady’s talent wouldn’t worry about this."
Belonging to the warrior class profession, Lanslow was physically robust. Although fatigued, his actions and deeds weren’t affected.
Lanslow chatted casually, as a middle-aged man with red hair and beard approached, surrounded by soldiers. He was Wendes’s father, Count Feinat, the ruler of Spark Port.
The Count instructed the soldiers to lay down their weapons and salute. In front of the Order Corps members, he appeared extremely sincere, making every effort to defuse the tense atmosphere, stating that the Empire was not acting recklessly and was already discussing a new approach to coexistence with the Sky Knight Guild. The specific details hadn’t been established yet, hence why the Order Flame Corps was unaware.
Of course, Lanslow wouldn’t believe him, as someone in public service he only acknowledged official documents.
However, taking Wendes away now was impossible. The battle above Spark Port deterred many ships from approaching. Those docked had already departed the area. By the time the Count arrived, there were hardly any flying airships left at the port. The remaining ships had vested interests with the local area, and seeing Count Feinat, they dared not move.
Li Ang asked Lanslow, "Where did the two flying ships I seized go, along with your patrol ship?"
"Uh, I had ordinary members sent them back to the Hall of Order."
"You guy. You were prepared for the possibility of us losing, weren’t you?"
"Ah, it’s a foolproof strategy." Lanslow replied, "We’ll complete it once our corps dispatches a ship."
Although Lanslow possessed flying demons, navigating between Sky Islands required effort to withstand various air currents, so most flying demons could only migrate between nearby islands, incapable of long-distance travel.
However, when Lanslow contacted Flame Corps headquarters, there was no response from the communication device.
"No way?" Lanslow wondered, "There’s always someone on duty at the communication center."
Lanslow continued to call out, all the while keeping an eye on Wendes. Count Feinat persistently argued that it was all a misunderstanding, annoyance creeping into Lanslow: "Fine, let him go home, but I want to watch him from nearby."
Lanslow said to Li Ang, "This treacherous Count, if I leave him alone awaiting a ship, he’ll surely play some trick. I’ll just stay at his house. If anything goes wrong, it will be pinned on him, and he won’t dare to act rashly."
This guy was accustomed to dealing with such deceitful forces and had his own method for handling them.
Li Ang didn’t stay with them; he first went out to explore the situation, to see if he could find a way to Frost Heaven Island to nurture Zoe. The Empire’s matters weren’t clear, and he was merely an unregistered small Sky Cavalry leader. If the heavens were to fall, let the Order Sky Knight Corps and those Celestial Groups handle it.
Before leaving, he saw Lanslow removing Wendes’s equipment piece by piece, and placing it into a net bag. The net bag wasn’t ordinary; it was made of magic power-inert material that isolates magic power traction, a unique technology of the Order Sky Knight Corps.
Once locked in this way, only someone in an excellence realm could open it. Wendes himself couldn’t do it, and there was no one in Spark Port besides Li Ang and Lanslow capable of it.
Spotting Li Ang watching the equipment, Lanslow quickly remarked, "Hey, don’t even think about them. I know you contributed when acquiring these at The Soul Apex, but they have clear ownership, and I wouldn’t dare give them to you; don’t make it hard for me."
By convention, these equipments would be detained by the Order Corps and later ransomed when The Soul Apex comes to explain the situation.
Fortunately, you didn’t notice. Li Ang nodded at him with a smile.
"Be a bit more careful."
Li Ang wasn’t completely at ease; before leaving, he adjusted Lanslow’s self-recovery spirituality. He usually didn’t do this, because to explore the spirituality of complex living beings and then adjust it was taxing and nerve-wracking.
"Alright alright, I’ve been here before; what’s there to fear of the Spark Island Count’s combat power."
Reaching the streets, Li Ang’s first goal was to see if he could find a ship, even if it was just a small one to the adjacent island, he could figure out a way to hop to Frost Heaven Island himself.
However, as a local tyrant, the Spark Port Count reacted really fast, sealing off news of the fight above the welcome ceremony; aside from the port not receiving more ships, the streets within the island were operating as normal.
Due to Spark Port being a goods distribution center, it was almost the epitome of the bustling Ignis Sky Realm. You could find Blessing Ritual Artifacts from Wotam Church Country, Monster Taming Products from Giant Garden, Mechanical Products from Artisan Island Vitum and the Magical Capital of Makena Island Country, its richness rivaling Earth’s. The variety of vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, and various cooking tools were all comprehensive.
He’s used to seeing these things, but with no ship in sight for now, Li Ang pondered about selecting a suitable gift for Zoe.
The Earth Serpent transformed into golden light, now hiding inside his cloak.
This is a kind of mystical ability; initially, Li Ang thought that its transformation into light and fusion with Zoe was a girl’s ability. Now it seems the Star Soul itself possesses this transformation ability, which also explains why Li Ang never saw the giant wolf land when Eden appeared on Satus Island.
Due to movement limitations in this state, Eden probably flew to a further location before drifting slowly to Zoe’s doorstep.
While strolling, Li Ang silently toyed with a silver bell in his hand.
[Wind Chaser’s Holy Bell]
[Contains shed holy feathers akin to those from a divine spirit, revealing a glimpse into the lives of ancient people who chased the Wind God. The holy aura it emits seems to penetrate the Earth, bringing peace and tranquility to people’s hearts.]
[Tier: 7]
[Category: Energy Source]
[Maximum Magic Power Output: 276%]
[Magic Tendency: Create High Tier Wind Element]
The so-called High Tier Wind Element is a magic wind above Tier Seven capable of shaking the material dimension and supernatural dimension membrane.
This Tier Seven energy source can continuously harness magic power at three times the efficiency of a Tier Seven caster; even by Celestial Group standards, it’s quite rare.
With a source of this level, using wind-related techniques no longer requires worrying about magic power consumption.
Li Ang had handled it before at The Soul Apex, extremely proficient in its usage.
Upon touching this item, he threw out temporary energy sources as bombs during the subsequent skirmishes against miscellaneous soldiers, which had nearly reached their limit anyway.
Lanslow was too late in reacting.
The chaotic environment at the time meant neither of them noticed Li Ang had taken the energy source.
Wendes was knocked silly, while Lanslow lacked Li Ang’s system; he didn’t know which trinket on the opponent’s body was equipment. Being caught up with Count Feinat, he didn’t have the energy to pay attention either.
Wendes, I warned you not to hang the energy source on your waist. Li Ang thought.
In any case, this is a little interest paid by The Soul Apex.
Feeling quite pleased, Li Ang stopped at the entrance of a cold drink shop. The store’s banner claimed it was trained by Frost Heaven Island’s "Snow Appreciation Platform" restaurant. Li Ang knew such promotions were bogus, but seeing many people inside, he decided to give it a try.
During the five days on Satus Island, he was both hungry and craving, now he could finally enjoy some dessert.
After queuing for a while, he secured a small table in the corner, ordering a "Giant Garden Cheese Shaved Ice", with fruits and chocolate adorned atop fluffy ice covered in thick cheese, making Li Ang feel even better thanks to the stolen energy source.
He held the spoon, searching for an angle to start, but someone sat down at the other end of the table before him.
The newcomer was a young girl, wearing sunglasses and a sun hat; a lace choker adorned her neck, seemingly to conceal her beauty.
The close-fitting black dress and gloves gave her an elegant demeanor, unable to overshadow her enchantment.
This so-called enchantment doesn’t imply a voluptuous figure, but rather a body with exquisite curves, neither gaining nor losing a bit of fat would improve it, as if the Creator had carefully sculpted it.
"Hey, Sky Knight."
The girl slowly took off her sunglasses, placing a bag on the table with a thud.
"Let’s hit the road then."
