Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild
Chapter 55 - 54: This Is Fine
CHAPTER 55: CHAPTER 54: THIS IS FINE
Li Ang was silent for a while, then said, "Sure."
He believed he hadn’t done anything shameful. If it were truly important, he would definitely remember.
So what if he agreed?
Dorothy’s expression, usually cold and indifferent, raised an eyebrow—this was the biggest change in expression Li Ang had seen from her.
The thin and slightly upturned lips of this lady moved slightly as she inhaled.
"Then—"
Loud footsteps suddenly intruded, and Li Ang turned to see two people descending from a stone staircase nearby.
Leading was an old man with gray hair.
His hair and beard were meticulously groomed, wearing a black coat with a white shirt, a black bow tie, long trousers, and shiny leather shoes—a standard butler attire.
The loud footsteps came from the heels of his shoes on the stone steps.
"Huo Fu," Dorothy said.
Behind the butler Huo Fu was a young girl who, upon seeing Dorothy, lit up with joy and bypassed the butler, jumping down in front of Dorothy from the flower terrace beside the steps.
"Senior Sister Campbell!"
The girl hugged Dorothy in an instant.
Compared to the slender lady, the suddenly appearing girl was half a head shorter. She had dark red long hair, a white blouse under a black sleeveless vest, a red plaid skirt under which were black knee-high socks slightly squeezing her, and high boots.
Her beauty was in no way inferior to Dorothy’s. The red-haired girl’s features bore a striking vibrant charm, with deep yellow eyes like radiant flames. As for her figure, the vitality of life exaggerated her curves more than the lady’s.
The most eye-catching aspect of this girl wasn’t her beauty, but her demon traits.
From the hem of her vest, a pair of dragon wings and a dragon’s tail thicker than a thigh extended, both covered with neat red scales.
Above her ears, between the red hair, extended a pair of backward-curving horns filled with rings and edges.
"Leona! What are you doing here?" Dorothy asked.
The girl called Leona isn’t classified as "Dragon Race" or "Dragon Descendant" but rather an "unknown" race.
For a race classification, they must meet the same traits, similar cultures, and other conditions. Individuals like this girl with demon traits are rare instances.
Perhaps they were born under the influence of magic power disasters, or perhaps there was a bizarre, unexplainable lineage in their family that manifested in some descendants. The existing knowledge in Nebis cannot explain this phenomenon, so such unexplained races are categorized under "unknown."
Similar yet distinctly different from Zoe.
[Name: Leona Herian]
[Race: Unknown]
[Profession: Warrior, Tier 3. Wizard, Tier 3.]
[Energy Source: Dragon Blood Heart, Tier 5]
The panel of this half-dragon maiden shows that her special lineage provides her with an energy source, giving her a high starting point and things others might risk many years to obtain.
Leona addressed Dorothy, whom she called "Senior Sister": "I already took leave, rushed back all the way from Thousand Tower City, but previously got stuck at the air route entrance."
Turns out she was part of the Flying Airship previously blocked by the Imperial Army, but she didn’t recognize Li Ang at all.
"Why take leave and travel so far?" Dorothy asked.
"How could I miss the major event of Senior Sister’s life?!"
The half-dragon maiden was quite excited and noticed Li Ang beside them.
"Who is this?"
"A friend I knew from before."
"A Sky Knight?"
Li Ang’s attire differed from ordinary citizens, and Leona examined him: "Which group are you with?"
"Currently, I’m not with any group."
"Oh."
The half-dragon maiden seemed initially interested in conversing, but hearing this, lost interest and turned her head.
She continued talking to Dorothy: "I went to your house to find you, Grandpa Huo Fu said you went out, so we came out to look for you."
The old man named Huo Fu stepped forward, bowed to Li Ang, and then faced Dorothy: "Miss, your life’s major event is tomorrow. Please do not be willful."
Dorothy nodded indifferently: "I know."
Leona clenched her fists at the side, gritting her teeth: "I heard that bastard Wendes got into trouble. Does he not know importance at this time..."
"We’ll discuss it after returning," Huo Fu interrupted Leona’s chatter, glancing at Li Ang out of the corner of his eye.
"Oh." Leona realized she had misspoken.
Their actions suggested that Li Ang, who was originally there, was the unnecessary one.
Huo Fu made a gesture for Dorothy to move forward: "Miss, your elder brother will also arrive at Spark Port tomorrow to formally finalize the arrangements. Please be prepared."
The old man moved ahead, Leona hopped along behind, expressing: "Though I’m envious of that rotten man, I’ll wish Senior Sister happiness."
Dorothy lowered her gaze without saying a word, only following along as they walked step by step.
After a couple of steps, she turned to the flowers by the terrace, propping up the flowers that Leona had stepped down on, then gave Li Ang a soft smile.
"Before coming out, I made a huge decision. It’s my problem, it’s too late now, it can’t be fulfilled, so this is fine."
She caught up with the other two, the butler leading the way, the junior pulling her hand excitedly and talking incessantly, to which she continued to remain silent.
Li Ang watched their figures fade away.
Li Ang saw Dorothy being swept towards a situation she didn’t wish for by various forces. The old butler probably understood as well, only the half-dragon maiden seemed to have no concept of it.
Dorothy’s sudden desire for adventure with him, claiming it related to something he once said, seemed, to Li Ang, just an excuse.
Considering that there was no continuation of their past relationship, Li Ang felt there was likely nothing at the time. She probably understood it as well, hence her last-minute withdrawal.
If she only wanted to use this as a reason to escape marriage, she was already saved; Wendes had already been apprehended. Li Ang decided to continue increasing his exploration progress.
As it was already evening, the ordinary residents of Spark Port busied themselves returning home to reunite, some vendors had packed up, and pedestrians were fewer, allowing him to be more efficient.
On the map given by the system, there were no particularly difficult places to reach, or rather, the hardest to fully explore were Spark Island’s Count’s Mansion and Sky Port, but both were his starting points.
After reaching the end of a street, his exploration progress reached 89%.
Ahead was a staircase leading downward, descending directly to the edge of Sky Island. Outside the railing of the staircase, one could glimpse the Bloody Red Land beneath the clouds, while the island’s rock layers on the other side featured a metal gate to the sewers.
Upon reaching here, the system gave a prompt.
[Tip: Spark Island exploration rate reached 90%, hidden location: city’s underlayers unlocked. Hidden locations contain rewards and secrets; please explore diligently.]
The miniature map revealed the "city’s underlayers," and Li Ang discovered that this hidden location had more than one entry point, almost every street or two in the city providing an access point.
This hidden location seemed to cover a large range.
He immediately decided to take a look.
Li Ang headed towards the nearest entrance when suddenly a hand patted his shoulder.
