Fire Chief vs. Surgeon: A Tale of Relentless Pursuit
Chapter 580: Secretly Spitting Saliva
CHAPTER 580: CHAPTER 580: SECRETLY SPITTING SALIVA
Although the hospital had a legal department to handle matters, Jiang Yekou wasn’t used to entrusting everything to strangers.
He had to experience and do it himself.
Otherwise, how could he rest assured?
As soon as he got into the car, he received a call from a good friend:
"Hello?"
"Aye, where are you now?"
"Why the rush? I’m almost there."
"Ah, we will just have to wait for you then."
"Yes, alright."
"And your wife? Is she coming?"
Everyone was curious since they hadn’t seen her yet.
So, they were especially eager to see what kind of woman could grasp Captain Jiang’s heart.
But, unfortunately,
Jiang knew what these two were thinking.
"She won’t come, but you’ll meet her eventually.
Besides, why are you all so eager to see my wife?"
Tsk, tsk.
Thankfully, they were merely curious to see her, without any other intentions.
"No, no, no, how would we dare? Hurry up, I’m starving."
Normally, lunch would have been eaten by now in the afternoon.
Only because of a call from this guy, the two had immediately put down their work to come over.
Such camaraderie was not ordinary.
"Wait for me."
Jiang decisively hung up the phone and then urged the taxi driver:
"Master, please go a bit faster."
"Alright."
There wasn’t as much traffic on the roads at noon as in the morning; it was still quite smooth.
Soon, he arrived at the destination.
Jiang got out of the taxi, and from afar, he saw two men in suits and leather shoes:
"Aye, over here!" they shouted, waving.
Dressed in impeccably tailored suits and carrying briefcases, they had the image of elites, which completely shattered when they opened their mouths – where was the aesthetic appeal in that?
Jiang paid the taxi fare and then slowly approached.
"Why not wait inside?" he asked.
"We are waiting for you. Why would we go in without you?"
"That’s right, that’s right. Shouldn’t you be thanking us right now?"
Jiang glanced at the two:
"Get the job done, and gratitude will naturally follow."
They were already asking for thanks before doing the job? Where on earth did such a custom come from?
The two exchanged glances and laughed:
"Right, it’s known that you can’t squeeze any benefits out of Aye."
Pfft.
Jiang immediately rolled his eyes at the two of them.
The man spoke again:
"Let’s go in, I’m honestly starving. Went to court early this morning and haven’t even had breakfast yet."
Jiang instead said:
"Wait a little longer; someone else hasn’t arrived yet."
Oh?
"Who?"
"A friend from the police; you should know him."
Hmm?
"Who is it?"
Jiang pointed:
"There, he’s coming."
A Volkswagen Magotan slowly stopped, and a man got out of the car.
"Oh, isn’t that Officer Zhu?"
"Aye was talking about Lao Zhu?"
Jiang nodded:
"Yes, precisely, it’s him."
Officer Zhu approached and surveyed the three:
"Is everyone here?"
There was just too much going on at the station, and he had been called back before he could leave, so he was late.
Everyone understood and didn’t make a fuss.
After all, they were grown men; how could they fuss over such trivialities?
"Let’s go, let’s go, let’s head inside."
"Right."
Finally, the group headed for the private restaurant.
The private room had been booked in advance, and the waiter led them upstairs.
"Gentlemen, please wait here; the dishes will be served shortly."
"Hey, thank you very much."
It had to be said, the men were quite polite, each knowing to say thank you.
In today’s society, many people showed no respect for service workers, acting as though being a customer made them gods.
Little did they know, behind their backs, waiters might curse them or even secretly spit in their food.
