CHAPTER 319: THE RING TECH
Lexie’s heart sank as Isiah’s voice turned icy, making her realize her mistake. She knew deep down that her problem went beyond mere jealousy; she longed for a genuine connection with Isiah, but her actions were only pushing him further away.
She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath before speaking.
"Isiah... I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
She knew that she had to be careful with her words, or else she would risk ruining everything she had with Isiah.
For a moment, Lexie just stood there, lost in thought. She realized that she needed to give Isiah some space to cool down, to let him process everything that had just happened.
Slowly, she moved out of his way, watching as he left the kitchen without another word.
As she stood there alone, Lexie couldn’t help but feel a sense of sadness wash over her.
She knew that she had to find a way to make things right with Isiah, to show him that she was truly sorry for her actions.
But how could she do that when every time she tried to talk to him, she ended up making things worse?
Isiah strode towards the bedroom, his mind focused on his next move.
The man he had trapped in his spell was still frozen in place, a helpless look etched on his face.
As Isiah reached the window, he gazed outside, scanning the surroundings for any sign of danger.
Suddenly, he heard the man’s voice pleading with him.
"Hey, please let me go. I’ll help you, I promise"
"Huh!" Isiah made this sound .
Isiah’s voice was cold and menacing as he spoke to the man, who was still frozen by his spell.
He walked towards the window, scanning the surroundings outside for any signs of danger. Suddenly, he heard the man’s voice, pleading with him to be set free.
"Hey, please let me go. I’ll help you just like I did back at the factory," the man begged.
Isiah turned to face him, a sarcastic smile curling his lips.
"Don’t bother," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "You’re becoming useless with each passing minute."
The man’s face fell, realizing that he was no longer of any value to Isiah. He frantically tried to convince Isiah that he still had something to offer.
"No, no, I can guide you through this place," the man insisted. "I know there’s no technology in the lower regions, and I can help you navigate through it."
Isiah let out a cold, humorless laugh and fixed the man with a menacing glare. "I know about technology," he said, his voice low and dangerous.
"I can survive in this place just fine. What I don’t know is the order and history, and that’s what you’re going to help me with."
The man’s face paled, realizing the gravity of his situation. He knew that he was now at the mercy of Isiah, who could do with him whatever he pleased.
With a sinking feeling, he realized that his fate was now in the hands of a man who was not to be trifled with.
The man’s eyes widened in shock as Isiah revealed his knowledge of technology. He couldn’t believe that this man had such advanced knowledge of the world in the upper regions.
As Isiah remained silent, the man’s anxiety grew, but he quickly regained his composure and nodded his head.
"Um, yes, yes...I will do whatever you want," he stammered, eager to appease Isiah.
Isiah smirked at the man’s response, enjoying the fear he instilled in his captive. "Good," he said, "because I have a task for you".
The man looked at Isiah with anticipation, waiting for what task he may give him .
When Isiah just said :" Bring me maps of this place, pictures and articles about this place , I want to know everything...from what you people eat to the finest spells you cast round here ...and ...also about the higher region and where is the center of afan and where you king resides "
The man’s eyes widened with surprise as Isiah spoke. He had not expected such a demanding task, but he knew he had no other option but to comply with the sorcerer’s request.
"Maps, pictures, articles...I understand," he said, nodding his head in agreement. "I will gather all the information you need and bring it to you as soon as possible."
Isiah gave a slight nod and broke the spell of freezing that he cast on his body, then turned his attention back to the window.
He was lost in thought, contemplating his next move. The man stood there awkwardly for a moment, then quickly went to the living room to bring his device .
The man realized that Isiah’s request was not an easy one. Afan was a vast and complex place, with a rich and complicated history.
But he knew that he had to deliver, or else he would face the wrath of this person.
The man hurried back to Isiah with a sense of urgency in his step, carrying a small device in his hand.
He approached Isiah and held out the device for him to see.
"This could help you know about everything," he said, excitement and fear mingling in his voice.
Isiah took the device from the man’s hand and examined it closely. It was a small ring, made of a strange metal that he had never seen before.
The surface of the ring was smooth and glossy, with no visible buttons or switches.
"What is it?" Isiah asked, turning the ring over in his hand.
"It’s a Tech Ring," the man replied, his eyes darting nervously around the room. "It’s a device that allows you to access all the information you need about this world. It can show you maps, pictures, articles, and even spells."
Isiah’s interest was piqued. He had seen something like this only in science fiction movies , but he had never seen one up close before.
"How does it work?" he asked, holding the ring up to the light.
"You just have to put it on and activate it," the man explained. "Once it’s on your finger, it will connect to the network and give you access to all the information you need."
Isiah slipped the ring onto his finger and felt a strange sensation run through his body.
He looked down at the ring and saw that it was glowing faintly, as if powered by some invisible force.
He closed his eyes and concentrated, trying to activate the device with his mind.
On the device, a screen lit up, revealing a vast array of information and options.
Isiah couldn’t help but marvel at the intricate design and advanced technology of the device. It was unlike anything he had seen before.
The man noticed Isiah’s fascination and eagerly explained how the device worked, highlighting its features and capabilities.
Isiah listened intently, absorbing every detail.
With a few taps on the screen, the man pulled up a map of the surrounding area, pointing out key locations and landmarks. Isiah studied the map carefully, taking note of every detail.
He knew that this information would be invaluable in his quest to uncover the secrets of this world.
The man continued to demonstrate the various functions of the device, showing Isiah how to access news articles, historical records, and even social media.
Isiah was amazed at the wealth of information available at his fingertips.
As he delved deeper into the device’s capabilities, Isiah couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation.
He knew that with this technology, he could unravel the mysteries of this world and gain the knowledge he needed to achieve his goals.
As the man finished explaining the workings of the device, Isiah’s curiosity was piqued. He turned his piercing gaze towards the man and asked, "What is your name?"
The man hesitated for a moment before replying, "My name is Gregor, sir. I’ve been living here in Afan for most of my life."
Isiah nodded, taking note of the man’s name. "Gregor, you have proven to be quite useful to me. Do not try to deceive me or hold back any information. You wouldn’t want to be on my bad side, would you?"
Gregor swallowed nervously and replied, "No, sir. I will do everything in my power to assist you."
Isiah gave him a curt nod before turning his attention back to the device in his hand.
"I thought the tech here is just like on earth ! Well, it is more advanced, " Isiah said .
He began scrolling through the various menus, taking note of the information and resources available to him.
As he delved deeper into the device, Gregor couldn’t help but wonder what Isiah’s true intentions were.
He had never seen someone with such a thirst for knowledge and power. He couldn’t help but fear what Isiah might do with the information he was gathering.
Nevertheless, Gregor knew that he had no choice but to assist Isiah in any way possible. He could only hope that Isiah would spare him and his people if he was successful in his endeavors.
Isiah, on the other hand, was completely focused on his goal. He was determined to unravel the mysteries of this world and find a way back home.
He knew that he couldn’t do it alone, but with Gregor’s help, he might just have a fighting chance.
With the device in his hand and Gregor by his side, Isiah began his journey towards the heart of Afan, the center of all power and knowledge.
He would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, even if it meant crushing anyone who stood in his way.
