First Stygian Diviner:Apocalypse
Chapter 320: Tracked!
CHAPTER 320: TRACKED!
As Isiah started to search with the ring tech that Gregor gave him, he was completely unaware of the grave mistake he was committing.
Little did he know that the ring was connected to the government’s network, which was designed to track every person in Afan who possessed the device. In fact, it was mandatory for every individual in Afan to have it.
The ring was not just an ordinary device, it served as a GPS tracker as well. With the government keeping a constant watch on the people of Afan, it was an essential tool for the authorities to ensure that their citizens remained safe and secure.
However, Isiah was not a citizen of Afan, and he had no idea that the ring would attract unwanted attention from the government.
As he continued to use the device to gather information about the place, he was completely oblivious to the fact that he was being tracked and monitored by the authorities.
The consequences of this mistake were dire, and Isiah would soon come to regret his decision. If he was caught by the government, he would face severe consequences for violating their laws. He had unknowingly put himself in grave danger, and there was no going back.
As Isiah continued to explore the capabilities of the ring tech, he had no idea that his every move was being watched by the government. The ring had become a double-edged sword, and Isiah was now walking a dangerous path.
Isiah was determined to uncover every bit of information about Afan that he could find using the ring tech that Gregor had given him. He scrolled through pages of data, learning everything he could about the history, culture, and customs of the land. However, in his quest for knowledge, he was oblivious to the fact that he was broadcasting his location to the Afan government’s GPS network.
Hours later, when the night shift arrived at the factory, the government received a report about Isiah’s actions. They immediately launched an investigation and began tracking him.
His every move was being monitored, and it wasn’t long before they were able to locate him. Isiah had unknowingly led them straight to his doorstep.
As panic set in, Gregor frantically led Isiah out of the factory, forgetting that he was the only survivor. His fear caused him to overlook the fact that cooperating with a killer could lead to dire consequences.
The fear of being caught was too great, and he didn’t realize the danger he was putting himself in.
As the sound of approaching cars grew louder, Isiah’s senses heightened, detecting the presence of powerful individuals. Without hesitation, he rose to his feet and rushed to the window, only to be met with the sight of a sizable contingent of guards converging on their location.
Turning to face Gregor, Isiah’s eyes blazed with fury as he accused him of being the one to lead the government forces to their doorstep. But Gregor, looking bewildered, denied any involvement in their arrival, and instead pointed to the ring tech device that was still on the table.
"They must have tracked my place using the device," he said, fear creeping into his voice as he realized the gravity of the situation.
Isiah knew that he had to act fast if he was going to make it out of there alive. In a flash, he summoned his dark energy and used it to grab hold of Gregor, his grip tightening around the man’s neck.
The man gasped for air, his eyes bulging as Isiah tightened his grip around his neck. Isiah didn’t relent until he heard the man’s strained voice say, "There is a place... very far away from here... you could stay in it untracked..."
Isiah’s grip relaxed a little as he listened to the man’s words. "Where is this place?" he demanded.
The man coughed and wheezed, still struggling to breathe. "It’s called Triavert... it’s a place underground," he managed to say.
"How can I reach that place?" Isiah asked, his voice cold and unyielding.
"Use the ring tech... it will lead you there," the man gasped.
Isiah knew that he had no other choice but to trust the man’s words. However, he couldn’t be sure whether the man had lied about leading the guards to their location or not.
In a moment of uncertainty and rage, Isiah tightened his grip once again, cutting off the man’s air supply until he lay lifeless in his hands.
As Isiah looked down at the dead man, he knew that he had just committed another grave mistake. But he couldn’t afford to dwell on it for too long. The government’s forces were getting closer by the second, and he needed to find a way to escape.
Isiah grabbed the ring tech from the man’s hand and quickly activated it. A holographic map appeared, showing the way to Triavert. Isiah knew that he had to act fast.
Isiah rushed to the living room, where Ciel and Eijar were sleeping soundly. Lexie, who had been trying to come to the bedroom, heard the man’s suffocating voice and followed Isiah to the living room.
"Is everything okay?" she asked, seeing the panic on Isiah’s face.
"We have to leave, now!" Isiah said, grabbing a backpack and stuffing it with essential items.
Lexie looked at him, confused. "What happened?"
"The government found us. We have to leave before they catch us," Isiah replied, his voice filled with urgency.
Lexie quickly realized the severity of the situation and went to wake up Ciel and Eijar. As she did so, Isiah grabbed the ring tech and activated it, following the signal that would lead them to the underground place Gregor had mentioned.
With the government forces rapidly approaching, Isiah knew they had to leave immediately. He gathered Ciel and Eijar, tucking Eijar securely around his neck and holding Ciel’s hand tightly.
Isiah quickly grabbed Lexie by the waist with his other arm, pulling her close to him as he began to channel his dark energy.
As the energy swirled around them, Isiah could feel the weight of his companions on him, but he remained steady.
With a sudden burst of energy, they were lifted off the ground and began to move through the air, the wind rushing past them as they flew. Isiah felt the strain of the effort, but he refused to give up. They were so close to safety now.
Finally, after what felt like hours but was likely only a few minutes, they landed softly on the ground. They were in a large cavern, dimly lit by flickering torches on the walls.
He could hear the distant sounds of sirens and shouting, indicating that the authorities were hot on his tail. Isiah knew that he had to move quickly if he wanted to get himself and his companions to safety.
He glanced around, trying to spot any signs of danger, but the darkness and the chaos made it difficult to see anything clearly.
Finally, they reached the outskirts of the city, where the buildings gave way to sprawling fields and forests. Isiah slowed his pace, scanning the area for any signs of life. He could feel his heart racing as he realized how exposed they were in this open terrain.
Ciel, who had been woken up suddenly and dragged out of the house in the middle of the night, looked up at Isiah with bleary eyes, confusion etched on his face.
"What happened?" he asked, his voice still laced with sleep.
Lexie, who had been walking beside him, reached out to pat his head gently, offering him a small smile. "Don’t worry, we’re safe now," she said soothingly, casting a quick glance at Isiah for reassurance.
Isiah turned to face them, his eyes scanning the surrounding area, still wary of any potential danger. "We had to leave the house quickly," he said finally, his voice low and tense. "The guards were tracking us through the ring tech that Gregor gave me."
Ciel’s eyes widened in shock as he realized the gravity of the situation. "So, they know where we are?"
Isiah shook his head, his expression serious. "No, I managed to destroy the ring tech before we left. But we need to be careful, we don’t know how far they’ll go to find us."
They continued to walk in silence, with only the sound of their footsteps and the rustling of leaves underfoot to break the stillness of the night. Isiah led them deeper into the forest, away from the prying eyes of the guards, his senses alert and ready to react at any sign of danger.
As they walked, Ciel started to feel more awake and aware of their surroundings. The forest was beautiful, with tall trees towering above them, their leaves rustling softly in the breeze. The moon was full, casting a soft glow on the forest floor, and the air was crisp and fresh. Ciel couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty of the world around him.
"Is this where we’re going to stay?" he asked, looking up at Isiah curiously.
Isiah nodded, his eyes scanning the area once again. "For now, yes. We’re going to stay here until we figure out our next move."
Ciel nodded, feeling a sense of relief that they had a plan, however temporary it may be. He looked around once more, taking in the beauty of the forest, and then turned to Lexie, offering her a small smile.
"We’re going to be okay," he said, his voice soft but firm. "We have each other."
Lexie smiled back at him, a warm, reassuring look in her eyes. "Yes, we do," she said, and then turned to Isiah. "Thank you for getting us out of there."
