CHAPTER 357: LEXIE’S IMPULSIVE KISS(MASS RELEASE CH 3)
Lexie had tears in her eyes. She sat up with difficulty and said, "I didn’t ask you to take care of me."
Isiah’s expression hardened, his eyes cold and unyielding.
"You think I wanted to? You think I enjoyed being stuck here with you?"
Her grip on his wrist tightened, desperation mixing with her tears.
"Then why, Isiah? Why do any of this if you hate me so much?"
He yanked his wrist free, stepping back with a scowl.
"Because you’re a problem I have to deal with, Lexie. Nothing more. Don’t flatter yourself thinking it means anything else."
Lexie’s heart shattered at his words, but she refused to look away.
"You didn’t have to stay," she said, her voice trembling. "You could have left me to die."
"Maybe I should have," he retorted, his voice like ice. "It would have been better."
She grabbed his hand again, this time pulling it close to her face.
Her lips almost brushed against his skin as she whispered, tears still streaming, "Isiah... if it’s for Ciel, then just don’t mind me. He will cry for a bit and then forget me completely... you can leave me here, just like you did before."
A moment of silence passed before he pulled his hand from her and said coldly, "I know you did something... you must have cast a spell to make me hear your voice.."
Lexie was completely shocked. She couldn’t comprehend why he was acting this way with her.
Her heart broke as she looked away, tears welling in her eyes. "Yes... I did," she whispered, her voice trembling.
Though she didn’t do anything, her frustration drove her to challenge him for the first time in her life.
He was furious. Without a word, he shoved her onto the bed, pinning her down as he hovered over her.
His eyes blazed with anger as he hissed, "I could kill you right now."
She felt a surge of fear coursing through her veins as his threat hung heavy in the air.
Paralyzed by the intensity of his gaze, she could do nothing but stare up at him, her heart pounding in her chest.
"You’re pathetic," he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt .
His gaze bore into hers, full of disdain. "You think you can stand up to me? You’re nothing but a weak, insignificant little creature."
He emphasized each word with a cruel intensity. "You’re delusional if you think you can challenge me and come out on top. Know your place, Lexie."
Despite understanding the potential consequences, Lexie’s frustration, sickness, and jealousy towards Astrid rendered her desperate and unable to analyze the situation rationally.
She bit her lip until it nearly bled, a physical manifestation of her inner turmoil, before mustering the courage to speak.
"Isiah," she began, her voice trembling with a mixture of vulnerability and defiance, "does being connected to me frustrate you that much?"
Her words hung in the tense air, a mix of defiance and vulnerability echoing in the room.
Isiah’s grip on her tightened, his expression contorted with a mixture of anger and frustration.
"You have no idea," he spat out, his voice laced with venom. "You’re like a parasite, clinging to me..."
Lexie’s heart sank at his words, the weight of his resentment crushing her spirit.
Forcing a smile, Lexie felt her lip split as she released the pressure, unaware of the injury until she noticed his gaze fixated on her.
A wave of confusion washed over her as his words pierced the air.
"A fucking bitch...you did this on purpose too," he spat out.
Closing her eyes, Lexie couldn’t bear the intensity of his gaze, feeling the weight of his words like a physical blow.
Isiah’s voice cut through the silence like a blade, sharp and unforgiving.
"You think you’re clever, don’t you?" he spat, his tone dripping with contempt. "But you’re nothing but a pathetic excuse for a human being, playing games you don’t even understand."
Lexie’s heart clenched at the harshness of his judgment, each syllable a reminder of her own inadequacies.
She wanted to protest, to defend herself against his accusations, but the weight of his words held her captive, rendering her speechless in the face of his fury.
The metallic taste of her own blood flooded Lexie’s senses, a bitter reminder of the violence she had inflicted upon herself in a moment of desperation.
As she licked her wounded lip, the sting of pain served ...she opened her eyes.
Isiah’s gaze bore into her with an intensity that made her feel exposed, vulnerable to his scrutiny.
Every fiber of her being screamed for escape, for reprieve from the suffocating weight of his presence.
But she remained still, paralyzed by fear and shame, unable to tear her eyes away from the storm brewing in his gaze.
In a sudden surge of impulse, Lexie’s mind raced with a singular thought: she couldn’t allow the tension between them to escalate any further.
With a swift and determined motion, she reached out, grasping Isiah’s head between her trembling palms, and drew him closer, closing the distance between them in a daring move.
Their lips met in an unexpected collision, the sensation sending shockwaves through Lexie’s body.
Her own lips pressing fervently against his.. As her lips met his, she poured all her longing and frustration into the kiss, seeking solace and connection in the midst of chaos.
It was a spontaneous act, born out of a desperate need to bridge the gap between them, to silence the torrent of emotions raging within her.
As Isiah attempted to pull away, his instinctual response to the unexpected kiss, Lexie refused to yield.
Her grip on his head tightened, fingers entwining in his hair, anchoring him in place.
Despite his efforts to break free, she held fast, her lips pressing insistently against his, refusing to let go.
He pushed her away forcefully, his expression hardening with a mix of anger and disdain.
"Enough!" he spat out, his voice laced with contempt. "You think you can manipulate me with your pathetic attempts at affection? "
