CHAPTER 225: CHAPTER 225 I DON’T NEED YOU TO LIKE ME (2)
"Thank you."
Since he had helped her, as a matter of courtesy, Xuanxuan looked at He Zerui and said, "Thank you."
"It’s what I should do." He Zerui left a sentence and turned to leave. Watching his back, Xuanxuan stuck out her tongue and made a face, thinking, what’s with the cool act? So annoying!
"Say what you want directly, don’t make little moves behind my back," He Zerui suddenly turned his head and looked at Xuanxuan coldly.
Hearing this, Xuanxuan was immediately startled, almost biting her tongue.
Does this guy have eyes on his back? How can he even see this!
Despite the surprise, Xuanxuan felt she had done nothing wrong, so she straightened up confidently and said, "You’re very rude, I don’t like you!"
"I don’t need you to like me!" He Zerui slightly curled the corners of his mouth, showing a faint, somewhat disdainful smile.
"Annoying!"
Xuanxuan glared at He Zerui and then angrily turned her head, no longer looking at him. Instead, she stood on tiptoes and placed her chopsticks on the table.
"Xuanxuan, Zerui, dinner is ready. Please sit at the table first."
Mi Wan’s gentle voice floated out from the kitchen. Upon hearing this, He Zerui immediately turned back, sat at the table, and positioned himself opposite Xuanxuan.
Humph!
Xuanxuan coldly hummed in her mind, turned her head, and looked elsewhere, openly expressing her dislike for He Zerui!
"Xuanxuan, what’s wrong?"
After a while, Mi Wan came over with the dishes. She placed them on the table and quickly noticed her daughter’s high-pursed lips, thus asking concernedly.
"Nothing. Xuanxuan is just hungry." Xuanxuan put on a smiling face, not wanting to trouble her mother.
She understood that her mom was going to be with Mr. Ji, and they would all be living together in the future. Although she didn’t like He Zerui, it was simply his attitude that bothered her, so she didn’t want her mom and Mr. Ji to worry about the small conflicts between her and He Zerui.
"Then have some soup first." Mi Wan smiled gently, then looked up at He Zerui and said, "Zerui, could you please serve Xuanxuan a bowl of soup?"
"No need!"
Before He Zerui could respond, Xuanxuan hurriedly refused. But the next second, she realized her reaction was a bit too intense, so she smiled at Mi Wan and said, "Mom, Xuanxuan doesn’t want soup today."
Mi Wan understood Xuanxuan well and could naturally sense her unusual behavior, but she didn’t press on, turned around, and went back to the kitchen to continue serving dishes.
"Little Zerui."
In the quiet, a melodious and deliberately sweet voice came from outside, accompanied by scattered footsteps. Hearing the sound, Xuanxuan immediately turned her head. After a few seconds, she saw two women walk in.
"Hello, are you looking for Mr. Ji?" Xuanxuan looked at the women and asked politely.
"Auntie, whose child is this? So cute." He Rou stared at Xuanxuan but didn’t answer her question, instead, curiously asked Shi Minjun beside her.
"Someone else’s wild child!" Just from looking at the slight resemblance between Xuanxuan and Mi Wan, Shi Minjun knew this was Mi Wan’s daughter. As a result, her already cold demeanor turned even darker, and she coldly replied.
"Auntie, who are you calling a wild child?" Hearing Shi Minjun’s words, Xuanxuan’s face fell, and she asked disdainfully.
She had a dad and a mom; how could she be a wild child?
"I’m talking about you!" Shi Minjun didn’t feel pleased by Xuanxuan addressing her as "auntie," nor did she hold back just because Xuanxuan was just a child. She stared directly at Xuanxuan, her gaze sharp.
"Auntie, you’re so impolite!" Xuanxuan puffed her cheeks in anger and glared at Shi Minjun.
"Well, this child is quite sharp-tongued!" He Rou fanned the flames from the side. After speaking, she glared at Xuanxuan with a dark face and asked, "Little brat, do you know who she is?"
"I’m not a little brat!" Xuanxuan furiously shouted at He Rou.
"Such poor manners!" Shi Minjun gave Xuanxuan a contemptuous look and reprimanded harshly!
"You’re the ones with no manners! Such grown-ups, bullying a child." Xuanxuan’s eyes were almost ablaze as she shouted back without thinking.
"Mind your words, kid!" He Rou gritted her teeth and glared fiercely at Xuanxuan, raising her hand, but considering this was Ji Dongquan’s house, she restrained her temper, her palm never falling.
Hearing the commotion, Mi Wan and Ji Dongquan came out of the kitchen together. With sharp eyes, Ji Dongquan immediately noticed He Rou’s raised arm. Without asking anything, he walked over, grabbed He Rou’s arm, and twisted it backward.
With a cracking sound, He Rou only felt pain and screamed, "Ji, let go, my hand is broken, broken!"
Shi Minjun hadn’t expected Ji Dongquan to act immediately after coming out. She was a bit flustered and pulled at Ji Dongquan, saying, "Quan, let go, Rou is a guest, you mustn’t hurt her!"
"She’s not welcome here. Haven’t I made that clear enough?" Ji Dongquan stared at Shi Minjun with cold eyes and questioned.
"Rou came to see Zerui. They are family. It’s been so long; they need a chance to reconnect." Shi Minjun glanced at He Rou’s pained face, a flash of worry in her eyes.
"I don’t want to see this woman!" He Zerui suddenly interjected, his face expressionless, as if he hadn’t noticed He Rou’s current predicament.
"Little Zerui, I came to see you on purpose. No matter what, I am your aunt. You... you... Ah, ahhh! It hurts!"
Hearing He Rou call herself "aunt" from her mouth, Ji Dongquan felt it was very ironic. When she bullied Zerui, why hadn’t she remembered she was his aunt?
"Quan, let go!" Shi Minjun was anxious, her voice raised in command.
But Ji Dongquan was angry now, and even Shi Minjun he found unappealing.
Today was supposed to be a joyful day; he just wanted to have a good meal with Mi Wan and the kids. But before the meal had even started, these two uninvited guests had ruined the atmosphere!
"This is my home. These two are my children. How dare you cause trouble here!" Ji Dongquan ignored Shi Minjun, his cold eyes like sharp knives, seemingly wanting to slice He Rou’s flesh piece by piece.
"Ji... Ji, I just said a few words to the kid, I didn’t... didn’t mean to hurt her." He Rou was in so much pain that cold sweat broke out, and her face twisted almost beyond recognition, looking particularly ugly!
"Apologize to the child!" Naturally, Ji Dongquan didn’t want Xuanxuan to be wronged here. Twisting He Rou’s arm, he dragged her to face Xuanxuan.
