Flash Marriage: In His Eyes
Chapter 224: Sky’s First
CHAPTER 224: SKY’S FIRST
–Damon–
It’s depressing—truly depressing—not having my wife with me. I guess my son can enjoy his life without me. He was having so much fun with the little car Deanne gifted him. Spoiled rotten by the aunts and uncles. Even the grandparents.
The twins were his playmates. But then there’s this certain princess, completely ignored by her other twin. She cried dramatically while walking toward me, dragging her Barbie doll by the hair.
"What’s wrong, Princess?" I asked, reaching for a tissue to wipe her tears.
"Zay-zay." She pointed accusingly at Zayvier, who was now riding Sky’s car like a stolen Ferrari, waving like a king.
"Let him." I patted the spot next to me, and she climbed up the sofa, snuggling into my side. I patted her black hair as she began brushing her doll’s hair with that tiny brush.
If we also had a daughter... silver hair like hers, purple eyes like her mother... I would spoil her beyond repair.
She started talking—mostly gibberish—but I listened anyway, nodding like a patient dad. I think she was talking about her doll. Barely two years old, but already sounding smart.
"There goes your brother, picking you up in a hot red Ferrari," I told her.
She crossed her arms and glared away from Zayvier. He honked loudly.
"Zendy!" Zayvier called. His voice was adorable.
"Sorry, man. I think she doesn’t want to see you," I told him.
He crossed his arms dramatically.
The rightful owner of the car crawled over at high speed. Sky climbed into the backseat, then used the momentum to climb onto the sofa, settling beside Zendy, who immediately snuggled to him.
"Dada!" Sky clapped his hands and raised his arms. I haven’t smoked since yesterday—these kids always manage to glue themselves to me. I picked him up and settled him on my lap. I took a sip from my martini glass.
"Mama!" Sky pointed to Livana’s portrait—the one Mom hung after we got married.
"Yes. That’s right."
"Mama!" he said again. Then he cried. "Mama!"
"Shhh." I patted him, my chest aching. "I miss her too."
He hugged my neck tightly. Zayvier got up and patted Sky’s back, and Zendaya followed, patting his tiny butt.
I looked up when Jane pulled the martini glass from my hand and replaced it with Sky’s baby bottle.
"I’m taking him out tonight, as usual," she said casually.
"Taking him out? Why?" I asked.
She tilted her head, exhausted with me.
"You don’t know?" She sighed. "I told you many times to open the letter Livana left for you and Sky. Every instruction is there. I’m just following what she wrote in her will."
She spoke slowly and loud enough—for me, the idiot, to finally understand.
"Got it." Whatever Livana planned with Jane, it was probably for Sky’s sake.
I calmed my son and fed him with his milk.
Then Zendaya grabbed a pillow and lay down with her foot over my lap. Jane handed her a bottle too.
Next, Zayvier lay beside his twin.
"Alright, I’ll leave you to them," Jane said before walking off.
I nodded and scanned the crowd. Laura was busy hosting the party with Damien. Everyone was running around. Earlier, there were photoshoots and decorations and whatnot.
And I had to carry the star of the night—Sky. He’d been happy and excited earlier.
"You’re not sad anymore?" I asked him gently. He cooed. I wiped his tears and kissed his forehead.
"I’ll find a way to bring your mom back," I whispered.
Even if I had to make an agreement with the devil...
I want her back.
–Logan–
The party? It was epic. But I started to get bored the moment the kids fell asleep. Damon was taking care of them in the corner. Jane was insanely busy, so I couldn’t even piss her off for fun. Deanne and Sophia weren’t any fun either—they disappeared with their boyfriends, whom they hadn’t seen for months.
"Have you seen Caine’s girlfriend?" I heard some of Aunt Amiliee’s relatives say. Men and their talks.
"The one wearing that black turtleneck top? Geez, she’s a hottie. What do you think her bust size is?"
"That lucky bastard probably shoved his dick between—"
They laughed. Sexualizing Deanne. I glared at them.
"Don’t let Damon or anyone hear you sexualize that woman," Damien cut in. "Also, someone already heard you. Her brother." Damien cocked his head toward me. They all snapped their eyes at me before scurrying away.
"I’m going to remove their dicks," I muttered.
"You can’t really stop them from sexualizing Deanne," Damien sighed, then glanced at Laura. Oh, right. Laura. "Or anyone... Damn, Laura looks so hot."
We were both staring at the same woman—the woman I love and the woman he loves. Unfortunately, she’s married to him.
"Yeah, she is," I agreed. "Now divorce her so I can marry her."
He shot me a deadly glare.
"You two-timing asshole. I thought you were busy persuading Jane?"
"Laura is my first love," I explained. He raised a fist at me.
"Logan," Jane called, cocking her head at me.
"But yeah, you can have Laura. I don’t have a chance anyway," I muttered, punching Damien lightly on the chest before following Jane.
"We’re leaving. Make sure you didn’t drink alcohol," she warned.
"I had juice with the kids and a yogurt drink," I told her. She side-eyed me. Jane scooped the sleeping Sky from Damon—who had also dozed off.
"Hey, man. Go upstairs to your room," I told Damon as I picked up the twins. Damien raised his beer at me from across the room, still chatting with guests as Laura approached me.
"I got them," I assured her, and she nodded.
Those two were tired too—like Sky’s parents. They prepared the entire event. I babysat the trio all day. I laid the twins in their bed; it looked like the nannies already prepped their clothes.
I followed Jane to Sky’s bedroom as she changed his diapers and clothes. I hugged her from behind, chin settling on her shoulder—but her elbow hit me immediately.
I groaned and stepped back.
"Stop harassing me, Logan. You know I can’t kill you yet."
I laughed. Sky woke up.
"Mama?" he asked. Jane bent down and whispered to him. He clapped like he understood. She handed him to me and fixed his hoodie.
"Commander White is already in the garage. I just need to check something."
"Sure, babe." I leaned in to tease a kiss but got flicked sharply on the forehead instead.
"Ow! You really like violence."
"Go now."
I followed her instructions. Aunt Ines was still at the party, disguised as a maid. She approached Damon with soup as I passed by. I took the kitchen route to the garage. A catering van was waiting—our cue. I hopped in and placed Sky in his carrier. Commander White was at the wheel.
A moment later, Aunt Ines climbed in, removing her silicone disguise. Jane got into the front seat, and we drove off. Blackwell security didn’t even check; Jane signed us out.
"Mama!" Sky clapped. He knew the drill. Every time we sneaked him into any car, he reacted like this.
"Yes, yes," Aunt Ines murmured. "Now sleep, little one. You’ll be with your mom."
I gently tapped Sky’s back. He yawned, babbled some toddler nonsense, then finally fell asleep.
"It must be really hard for him," I mumbled.
We arrived at a small house. I switched cars and finally took the front seat. The girls? They were knocked out. Jane slept on the left, Sky in the middle, Aunt Ines on the right. Those two had been working nonstop. Even I was feeling sleepy, but I couldn’t rest while Commander White was driving. I had to stay alert.
When we reached the residence, Livana was inside waiting—cake ready, little decorations set up.
The clock struck midnight, and Sky woke up. He squirmed excitedly as Livana approached with the cake and candles. She sang softly. It was heartwarming watching her celebrate his birthday.
After he blew the candles, Livana dabbed a bit of icing on his nose. Aunt Ines snapped the perfect shot. I took the cake and watched as Livana carried him.
"You’re sleeping with me tonight and tomorrow," she said, kissing his forehead and cheeks.
"Mama," Sky whispered, hugging her neck.
"Thank you all for arriving safely. Jane, Logan—take a break."
"Thanks," I yawned, setting the cake on the dining table.
Once Livana went to her room, I sat down to eat with Jane and Commander White. We were exhausted and starving. Even though we already ate at the party, I needed more food. Also—I was planning to make a move on Jane tonight.
I followed her to her bedroom. She glared at me.
"Jane, let’s fuck," I said, smiling, even holding up a condom like a gentleman.
She stared at it like she was exhausted by my jokes. I already expected her to reject me. She always does. But if Jane gave me this chance? I’d fuck her mind out. And since Livana said she’d be with her son, that meant we’d be staying here for two days.
"Okay."
I knew it! I was rejected~~
"Wait..." I tilted my head. "Come again?"
"It must have been hard for you not to get laid. Also, your results came. You’re clean."
She opened the door wider and casually walked toward the bathroom.
"I’m gonna get laid?" I muttered to myself.
