CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: AIRBORNE PERSONNEL
"I only care about the outcome. Whatever happens along the way is none of my business. No one cares for your sob stories."
Nia Mitchell tightened her grip on the item in her hand, biting her lip to suppress her emotions. Only after a long moment did she quietly assent.
Manager Zheng glanced at her sidelong. Can’t she even handle something this minor?
"The Secretary Department is on the 28th floor."
Nia Mitchell nodded, gathered her things, and left the Office Room. Only when she stepped out the door could she finally breathe a sigh of relief.
No one cares for your sob stories! Nia Mitchell muttered under her breath as she walked, mimicking the old woman’s expression and tone as she discontentedly stepped into the elevator.
「The twenty-eighth floor.」
This place was much quieter than the Human Resources Department. As soon as the elevator doors opened, a large reception desk and a smiling woman came into view.
"Hello."
Sierra Wright’s standard smile greeted her, her gentle voice as comforting as a spring breeze.
"Hello, I’m here to report in."
Nia Mitchell also responded with a courteous smile, not expecting any guidance.
However, as soon as she finished speaking, Sierra Wright smiled and pointed in a direction.
"Through that door, go straight then turn left, and you’ll find Special Assistant Morgan’s Office Room. That’s where you need to report."
Nia Mitchell was pleasantly surprised, and her goodwill towards Sierra Wright increased considerably. After a polite goodbye, she headed towards Alan Morgan’s Office Room.
She easily made her way to the entrance of the Special Assistant Office. Taking a deep breath to compose herself, Nia Mitchell then knocked on the door.
"Come in."
"Hello, my name is Nia... eh?"
Nia Mitchell walked in and began to introduce herself without even looking up. When she finally saw the person sitting there, she was spectacularly taken aback.
"Sister-in-law."
Alan Morgan gave Nia Mitchell a big smile and quickly rose to approach her.
"I thought you weren’t coming, Sister-in-law. The CEO has been here for over ten minutes. Didn’t you come together?"
Nia Mitchell gave an awkward smile. "We did come together; I just got held up in the Human Resources Department for a while."
Alan Morgan nodded; his sister-in-law did, indeed, need to report to the Human Resources Department first.
"Alright, these are your credentials. Take them, and you can go straight to the Secretary Department."
Nia Mitchell nodded, took her things, and quickly left. She had expected to be put in her place, just like in the Human Resources Department, but surprisingly, it was Alan Morgan.
"Hello everyone, my name is Nia Mitchell. I’m the new secretary."
Upon reaching the Secretary Department and finding her desk, Nia Mitchell introduced herself confidently.
"Hello, my name is Diana Hill. I also just started working here a month ago."
The young woman at the desk in front of Nia Mitchell turned around and greeted her.
"Starting a month earlier makes you my senior. I hope you can show me the ropes."
Diana Hill patted her chest. "No problem."
At this moment, a woman from the front row walked over. She wore a white professional suit and delicate, elegant makeup, with her most striking feature being a pair of large hoop earrings.
"My name is Phoebe Walker. I’m the A-Team leader in the Secretary Department. First, log into your account on the computer. Your daily tasks will be sent to you via email. For today, familiarize yourself with the internal systems and the information about MC Group."
Nia Mitchell listened attentively and nodded seriously.
Phoebe Walker looked down at Nia Mitchell. "Also, I don’t care how you got into the Secretary Department. If you don’t do your job well, you’ll be packing up and leaving regardless."
After speaking, she turned to leave but stopped after one step and looked back at Nia Mitchell.
"If you’re here for the CEO, then it’s better if you leave sooner rather than later. That way, you won’t lose face entirely when the time comes."
