CHAPTER 84: CHAPTER 84: DON’T THINK ABOUT STEALING MY LITTLE SPARE RIBS
After sending it, Nia Mitchell continued reading the rest of the messages.
"Why are you silent?"
"Respond as soon as you see it."
"Where are you?"
Seeing these messages, a smile crept onto Nia’s face. She hadn’t imagined that the usually icy and aloof Maxwell Peary would actually be concerned about her in the Company.
"Stop by my Office Room when you get back."
Upon reading this, Nia paused. Go to his Office Room? For what?
Nia was curious, but she still got up, ready to head over.
"Nia Mitchell, could you save this onto the computer?"
Phoebe Walker held out a folder in front of Nia.
Nia shot Phoebe an annoyed glance.
"Didn’t you say I only needed to familiarize myself with the Company today? Why am I photocopying and typing now? A while ago, the CEO asked me via the system to go to the CEO Office, so I probably won’t be able to do these things now."
Nia raised an eyebrow. She wasn’t one to be pushed around. It was already evident that this Phoebe Walker was intentionally making things difficult for her.
"It’s my job to arrange your work. Now I’m giving you a task, and you’re actually refuting me? Nia Mitchell, what do you take MC for?"
Phoebe, hands crossed over her chest and leaning against the edge of the desk, had a teasing smirk on her face.
"I came here to work, not to be bossed around. Secretary Phoebe, I’m going to the CEO Office now."
Nia put on a pretend smile and turned to leave the room.
「CEO Office—」
Nia knocked on the door, only entering after hearing Maxwell Peary’s voice.
"You wanted to see me?"
Nia peered around the Office Room. Hmm, it’s so spacious in here, like a whole different world.
Maxwell Peary looked up to see Nia’s curious expression. He relaxed his tense facade and set down his pen to look at her.
"Come here."
He gestured to her. With a smile, Nia trotted over, looking excited.
"I had lunch packed for you."
Maxwell Peary pointed at the box on the side table. Nia raised an eyebrow and sat on the sofa to open it.
"Wow! There are little ribs and beef. I love it!"
Overjoyed, Nia immediately grabbed a rib and started munching on it. This is so delicious!
Seeing her grinning so broadly her eyes nearly disappeared, Maxwell Peary shook his head and also moved to sit next to her.
"Is it good?"
Maxwell Peary reached over to adjust the fringe on her forehead, a smile also on his face.
"Delicious! Uncle, you should try some too." As she said this, she offered the half-eaten rib to Maxwell Peary’s lips.
Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow, paused for a moment, then opened his mouth and leaned forward, ready to take a bite.
"Ah, I forgot. Uncle, you must have already had lunch."
Saying this, she popped the rib back into her own mouth, her lips glistening with oil, thoroughly satisfied.
Maxwell Peary’s mouth twitched. Had he just been tricked by this Rabina Mitchell?
"Feed me."
Nia was savoring the food, smacking her lips. Delicious, delicious! The ribs are delicious, and the beef is exceptionally tasty too!
"Uncle, what did you say?"
Nia, her mouth full, looked at Maxwell Peary with wide, round eyes, all while continuing to stuff beef into her mouth.
Maxwell Peary rubbed his forehead. Did she really not hear me, or is she pretending she didn’t?
"Feed me."
This time Nia heard him clearly. Looking at the small ribs and beef in front of her, she hesitated for a moment and then shook her head vigorously.
"No, no! Uncle, you’ve already had lunch. Why are you trying to snatch my food?"
She protectively hugged the lunchbox in front of her, eyeing Maxwell Peary with a wary expression.
