Chapter 859: Can’t Hide Anymore?
CHAPTER 859: CHAPTER 859: CAN’T HIDE ANYMORE?
Jasper Sinclair wanted to see how long Nora Northwood would avoid him and for how long?
As it turned out, this woman was indeed very patient.
Jasper Sinclair stood downstairs for about an hour and a half, until his legs started to feel numb.
In the night, the exposed skin on Nora’s neck was as smooth as creamy jade.
She had removed her makeup back in the office, yet even with a bare face, her charm was undeniable.
A wool shawl had been added to her shoulders since the morning.
Facing Jasper, who stood tall like a pine, her mind momentarily went blank.
When did Jasper get here?
At this moment, Nora really wanted to take out her phone from her pocket to see if she had missed any messages.
Before she could act, the man a few meters away had already quickly walked toward her.
Feigning ignorance, Jasper asked, "Why are you working overtime so late today? Did you have dinner?"
After asking, he sniffed, feeling the urge to sneeze, yet unable to.
Nora nonchalantly replied, "I’ve already eaten."
"Do you want to have a late-night snack?"
"It’s late, I won’t eat."
Hearing the word "late," Jasper raised an eyebrow as if saying: You do realize it’s late?
Of course, he didn’t mention to Nora that he had been waiting for over an hour.
He didn’t want to give the impression of being overbearing or suffocating.
After not much time back in the car, Jasper couldn’t stop sneezing.
Nora kindly handed him a tissue and slightly worried, asked, "Are you catching a cold?"
"No, my nose just feels uncomfortable."
At this moment, Jasper didn’t think that standing in the evening breeze for an hour could lead to a cold.
With this mindset, he continued back to Crimson Hill Villa.
That very night, he started coughing incessantly.
His coughing disturbed Nora’s sleep.
Concerned about disrupting her rest, Jasper offered, "I’ll go to the guest room, so you can sleep well."
It was an unwilling decision, not expecting to end up separated in this manner.
Nora didn’t hold him back, only advised, "If it gets really uncomfortable, call the doctor."
"Okay, I’ll call a doctor in the morning."
If it were Nora coughing half the night, Jasper would’ve already called their private doctor over.
With their roles reversed, although Nora was worried, the anger in her heart had not entirely dissipated.
After much deliberation, she asked Uncle Kevin to bring Jasper some cold medicine.
Uncle Kevin had been unaware of the big boss’s illness and felt quietly guilty upon hearing the news.
The old man delivered the formulated medicine to Jasper’s guest room and asked with concern, "Has the temperature difference between day and night been too great, causing a chill?"
"Probably, it’s nothing serious."
Compared to his own health, Jasper was more concerned that this was arranged by Nora.
At least it proved that, in her heart, he still mattered to her.
In the early hours, as the sound of coughing at Nora’s ear ceased, she still tossed and turned, unable to sleep, always thinking about Jasper’s condition.
After much hesitation, she decided to go and check in person.
As she approached the guest room door, she heard a bout of strong coughing.
Without even knocking, Nora went straight inside.
Jasper was surprised by her arrival, and beyond the surprise, there was a hint of feeling cherished.
