CHAPTER 863: CHAPTER 863: AS LONG AS IT MAKES YOU HAPPY
Seeing Nora Northwood waver slightly, he immediately made the decision.
With plenty of ingredients in the fridge, Jasper Sinclair selected a few based on the cuisine and arranged them on the counter.
Uncle Kevin offered to help, but Jasper sent him and everyone else out of the kitchen.
The entire team of chefs looked at each other, resigned to put down their work and wait outside the kitchen.
Jasper, wearing an apron, looked quite out of place.
His sleeve, rolled up twice at the wrist, revealed a small patch of fair skin.
He worked in the kitchen alone for a long time, occasionally glancing outside, but couldn’t see Nora anywhere.
Still, he knew Nora hadn’t left.
It wasn’t until all the ingredients were ready to be steamed and cooked that Nora finally sauntered into the kitchen.
As she entered, Jasper happened to toss a few slices of onion into the pan, causing her eyes to water instantly.
Jasper turned to look, and seeing her with tearful eyes, he jokingly said, "Just one meal and you’re moved to tears. If you like it, I’ll cook for you every day."
Nora couldn’t understand where this strange self-confidence came from.
She turned to fetch a coconut from the fridge, saying, "It’s hard work for you to cook personally, I’ll head to the study to deal with some work, let Uncle Kevin call me in a while."
"Seeing how hard I’ve worked, won’t you give me a little something?"
Nora thought for a moment, then handed over the coconut she had just inserted a straw into, "Otherwise, you can have this."
"Come over and give me a kiss."
Upon hearing this, a mysterious impulse caused Nora to lean her head over, and due to the height difference, she lightly tapped his chin.
Just one tap was enough to leave him satisfied.
Before leaving the kitchen, Nora turned back for one last glance.
Jasper’s silhouette was wrapped in a cloud of vapor, and even while cooking, he retained his refined elegance, making him all the more attractive.
Nora watched for a full half minute before leaving with the coconut. Recently, she had particularly enjoyed drinking coconut water.
...
Jasper prepared three dishes and a soup, much simpler compared to their usual lunches.
Yet, having been made entirely by him without any help, it seemed all the more precious.
His culinary skills remained as superb as ever.
Nora scooped ladleful after ladleful of the carp soup, savoring its deliciousness.
Her taste buds were greatly satisfied, lifting her mood considerably.
She asked, "Where’s the auction?"
"At the mansion in the Hadrian District, it starts at four o’clock."
"Alright, let’s go browse the mall after lunch, we’ll have time, and I need to buy some autumn clothes with the season changing."
"All on your say." Jasper looked at her with doting eyes, so tender they almost overflowed, and added, "This auction doesn’t include a dinner banquet, where do you want to eat tonight?"
"Go home, you cook."
"Okay."
A smile appeared at the corner of his lips; he liked her requests of him.
With time, she would become increasingly reliant on him.
Unfortunately, Nora was unaware of such sentiments and asked, "You won’t be falling in love with cooking, will you?"
Even Jasper in the past wouldn’t have entered the kitchen twice in one day.
If the thousands of employees at The Sinclair Group knew their boss was an accommodating gentleman in private, would they laugh at him?
Nora’s thoughts were interrupted by Jasper’s words, as he explained, "If I were living alone, I certainly wouldn’t spend time in the kitchen, but you enjoy it, and making you happy is something money can’t buy."
