Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk
Chapter 872: Confession in the Hospital
CHAPTER 872: CHAPTER 872: CONFESSION IN THE HOSPITAL
After breakfast, Nora Northwood helped Jasper Sinclair sit on the balcony for a while.
His wounds had not yet healed, and the doctor advised avoiding excessive and prolonged movement.
Uncle Kevin left at some point, leaving the space for the still-shaken young couple.
They sat for a long time before Jasper suddenly leaned closer to Nora, closing the final gap between them.
The abrupt movement caught Nora off guard, followed by the overwhelming scent of medicine.
The mix of medicinal smells was unbearable.
For someone in the fragrance industry, it was a disaster.
"Nora."
Jasper called her name but said nothing else, as if that alone could bring him peace.
The snow outside had stopped, melted into small puddles on the ground.
Nora asked, "Are you cold? Do you want to go back to bed and rest?"
As she spoke, the white mist in the air was still visible, this winter being much colder than in previous years.
Nora thought Jasper would obediently return to bed, but instead, he leaned against her shoulder and said, "This way I’m not cold."
"Childish."
"I like it."
The corners of Nora’s mouth couldn’t help but lift.
Having been so used to the aloof Jasper, this slightly childish side of him was much more adorable.
They sat on the balcony for a bit longer, and Nora began to yawn.
She had only slept by the window for a few hours around four o’clock and then was up and about again.
At this point, her eyelids could barely stay open.
Seeing how exhausted she was, Jasper began to feel sorry for her, "Go rest on the bed for a bit. You didn’t sleep well last night."
"I’ll sleep on the sofa outside, leave the hospital bed for you. Do you want to nap again?"
Jasper turned his head, looking towards the hospital bed, seemingly assessing if it could fit two people.
He concluded that it could.
So, he stood up, took Nora’s soft fingers, and started towards the bed, saying, "Let’s sleep together."
"What?"
Nora thought she had misheard.
Jasper’s actions made it clear she hadn’t.
Nora’s entire being was rejecting the idea, "What if a nurse comes to check on you? I’m a restless sleeper; I might bump into your wounds!"
Jasper didn’t care much for that idea, "Will you get on the bed yourself, or should I carry you?"
In her current state, she couldn’t possibly lift herself, so he was merely threatening her, hoping she’d climb on by herself.
Faced with such situations, Nora always ended up giving in.
This time was no exception.
Under Jasper’s intense gaze, she took off her knee-high boots and lay down on the bed, leaving more than half of the pillow.
Seeing this, Jasper contentedly lay on the other side.
The hospital curtains were semi-transparent, and with ample light from outside, Nora found it difficult to fall asleep.
She turned, burying half her face in the pillow.
Jasper wanted her to turn towards him but thought for a moment and decided that holding her from behind was also nice.
So he swallowed back the words he was about to say.
As she was drifting off, Nora seemed to hear Jasper’s voice by her ear.
"I love you, Nora."
Nora, too tired, just hummed in response, with no other reply.
