Chapter 154: As Long as It’s What You Want to Do, I’ll Help You Accomplish It
CHAPTER 154: CHAPTER 154: AS LONG AS IT’S WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, I’LL HELP YOU ACCOMPLISH IT
At six-thirty in the afternoon, Clara Sterling appeared under Sheffield Tower with a thermos bucket.
The receptionist on the first floor was still the same one as before.
Seeing her arrive, the receptionist smiled slightly and greeted her, "Hello, madam."
Clara remembered the day when something had just happened, she came to the company to look for Silas Sheffield. This receptionist didn’t even call her "Madam", not even one "Miss Sterling", and looked at her with gossip and disdain.
Now that Silas is back and has personally clarified things, the receptionist, accustomed to playing along with the situation, finally remembered to call her "Madam".
Clara was very cold and didn’t respond to her greeting, turning her head and walking straight towards the elevator.
She bowed her head and sent a message to Silas Sheffield.
[I’m downstairs.]
Silas received the message while he was in a meeting.
With the conference approaching, he had been very busy recently, and today, everyone in the company was working overtime.
Silas made a gesture, "Take a forty-minute break, go have dinner first."
After saying this, he got up and left.
Thea Tate saw him leave and quickly caught up.
"Silas, want to have dinner together?"
Silas did not look at her, didn’t even offer a glance, "No."
"Where are you going?" Thea asked again.
Silas originally did not want to answer, but thinking about Clara coming to bring him dinner, he couldn’t help but want to brag.
"My wife is bringing me dinner, going down to pick her up."
When mentioning Clara Sterling, Silas’s voice naturally softened.
Thea’s steps paused, the smile on her face instantly vanished.
As she continued to stand there stunned, Silas had already walked away.
Silas sent Clara Sterling a reply.
[Wait for me downstairs, I’ll come down to get you.]
[Alright.]
The door to the private elevator for the CEO opened, the man in a suit stepped out, "Clara."
Clara Sterling raised her head, a smile spreading across her lips, "Hungry? I made crystal shrimp and jade tofu that you like."
The man’s cold brow softened, he took the thermos bucket with one hand, and pressed the elevator button with the other, "Thank you, babe."
"Not as hardworking as you, is the company working overtime tonight?" Clara Sterling entered the elevator.
"There’s a meeting until after eight, and after that I’ll have some documents to deal with, probably can return home around nine-thirty."
The elevator ascended, the enclosed space contained only the two of them.
The polished elevator door reflected the two standing together.
Clara Sterling pursed her lips looking at the reflection of them, her lips slightly curled up, feeling sweet inside.
They really match.
Silas brought her to the top floor CEO’s office, placed the thermos bucket on the table, "Have you eaten?"
Clara shook her head, "Not yet, I want to eat with you."
The man’s lips slightly curled, "Alright."
Just as he opened the thermos bucket to take out the food inside, a knock came at the door.
Silas thought it was the assistant with something important, and let them in.
Unexpectedly, it was Thea Tate.
"Silas, I have a contract here that needs your signature." Thea, dressed in a white suit, with full makeup, looked glossy and bright.
Seeing Clara Sterling on the sofa, a cold flash passed through Thea’s eyes.
Silas frowned, his voice cold, "Leave it there."
Thea, not knowing better, walked towards them with the contract, "Wouldn’t you rather take a look and sign now?"
"I said leave it there." Silas was already impatient, his voice was not loud, but his anger was unmistakably felt.
The man’s pressure was extremely low, his gaze cold and penetrating.
Thea’s expression stiffened, knowing Silas was already angry, staying longer would only annoy him.
"I’ll leave it on your desk, take a look later." After saying this, Thea’s gaze moved over Clara Sterling, carrying coldness.
Clara met her gaze, smiled, her brows arching.
Thea, teeth clenched in anger, placed the contract with a cold face and turned to leave.
After she left, Clara’s smile disappeared instantly, a cold scoff escaping her.
"Clara, let’s eat first." Silas served the rice, handed over the chopsticks.
After the meal.
Clara talked about the important matter with Silas.
"Help me investigate someone."
Silas: "Who?"
"Thea Tate."
Silas nodded, "Okay, what aspect do you want to check?"
Clara Sterling looked up at him, surprised, "You don’t ask me why?"
Silas raised an eyebrow, "Why ask?"
"After all, she is the vice president of the branch, and also the Tate family’s heiress, the Tate Family and your Sheffield Family have some relations."
"So what?" Silas’s deep eyes stared at her unwaveringly, "As long as it’s something you want to do, I’ll help you accomplish it."
Alright, Clara admitted it was gratifying.
The bad mood from Thea’s intrusion a moment ago dissipated because of Silas’s words.
"I want you to check her interpersonal relationships, investigate as thoroughly as possible."
Silas nodded, "Okay."
"Don’t let her find out; don’t startle the snake."
"Alright."
Silas didn’t ask why to check Thea, but Clara still proactively explained.
"Actually, I suspect she’s behind the incident this time, she’s always wanted to separate us."
Silas’s gaze darkened, his tone serious, "You want to check if there’s a top hacker among the people she knows?"
Clara nodded, "Yes."
"Okay, I’ll instruct someone to get on it right away."
"Also, Jonah Shaw should be watched closely too, he definitely won’t take the blame for someone else for no reason."
Silas: "Hmm, I know, I’ve already assigned someone to keep an eye on him."
...
On Saturday, Clara Sterling arranged to go shopping with Anabelle Spencer and Lisa Holloway.
After tiring from shopping, Anabelle suggested treating them to dinner.
"There’s a five-star hotel nearby with excellent Chinese cuisine, I’ll take you to try it."
Clara said, "I should treat, could never have you treat when I’ve asked for your help."
"Hey, why be so formal with me?" Anabelle laughed, "I’ve agreed to help you investigate, but I can’t promise we’ll find anything."
Clara said, "I’ve told Silas too, he’ll investigate on his end."
Lisa Holloway was puzzled, "Investigate what? What are you guys talking about that I don’t understand?"
"Investigate Thea Tate." Clara didn’t hide it, "I suspect she’s behind the trouble this time."
"I feel that way too," said Lisa.
Clara said, "Let’s go eat, I’m hungry. I’m treating."
Anabelle drove, taking them to the five-star hotel.
Just as Clara got out of the car, she looked up and saw Quinn Hughes not far away.
Quinn got out from a black Audi.
Next, a middle-aged man also got out of the car. Quinn smiled and took the man’s arm intimately, leaning her whole body against him.
Clara’s pupils shook.
The middle-aged man was actually Isaac Sutton’s father, Graham Sutton!
What’s going on?
Quinn Hughes and Graham Sutton are involved?
Clara quickly opened her phone and recorded a video of them.
Fortunately, she was quick, capturing their faces.
This hotel is quite far from Sutton Group, Graham Sutton came all this way for a room, presumably to avoid detection by Judy Bishop.
Clara didn’t say a word, quietly finished recording the video and put away her phone.
This video will surely come in handy in the future.
