CHAPTER 5: CHAPTER 5: GO TO HELL

Clara Sterling was woken up by her roommate, Alice Woods.

"Clara, wake up, wake up! Your boyfriend asked me to call you downstairs. He’s waiting for you." Alice Woods stood by Clara Sterling’s bed, reached into the curtains, and poked Clara’s arm.

Clara Sterling didn’t sleep well to begin with, and recently she’s been worried about her mother’s illness, which made her sleep lightly even though she was exhausted. Alice Woods called her, and she woke up.

She sat up, eyes half-closed, still groggy, "What?"

"Isaac Sutton is waiting for you downstairs in the dorm, asked me to call you down."

Clara Sterling clicked her tongue in annoyance, her dislike for Isaac Sutton deepened—he clearly knew she only went to sleep at half past four in the morning!

"I haven’t slept enough, ignore him." Clara Sterling said, and then lay back down to sleep.

In the past, even if she had just fallen asleep, she would get up and go downstairs to meet Isaac Sutton.

Now...

Ha, why spoil him?

Clara Sterling slept until eleven in the morning.

She showered, changed clothes, and went downstairs. Isaac Sutton was actually still there.

Clara Sterling frowned, feeling irritated inside.

Seeing her, Isaac Sutton’s eyes brightened, and he walked forward quickly.

"Baby, where did you go yesterday afternoon? I went to your part-time job at the milk tea shop to find you, and they said you took a leave."

Clara Sterling casually replied, "Oh, I wasn’t feeling well yesterday afternoon, took leave and slept in the dorm all afternoon."

"Not feeling well? What’s going on? Are you overworked?"

Isaac Sutton looked full of concern, seeming very caring.

But Clara Sterling knew he was acting.

The Sutton Family young master was with her just for fun.

His true love is that woman named Quinn.

He hasn’t mentioned breaking up because he hasn’t had his fill of amusement.

And because he wants to use her to make that woman jealous.

Ha, she’s nothing but a piece in his play.

Clara Sterling replied with an expressionless face, "It’s nothing, just a headache from a cold."

Isaac Sutton immediately said, "I’ll go get you some medicine."

"No need, I’ve already taken medicine and feel much better."

"Oh, okay." Isaac Sutton came over and held Clara Sterling’s hand, "Baby, let’s go have lunch together."

Clara Sterling resisted the nausea and didn’t pull away.

To successfully get rid of Isaac Sutton, she couldn’t let him suspect anything yet.

She calmly said, "My mom came to see me, I’m having lunch with her outside."

"Mom’s here in Crestwood?" Isaac Sutton smiled, "Then I’ll go with you baby, this meal’s on me, I just got my part-time salary yesterday."

Again with "our mom."

Clara Sterling’s eyes flashed with disgust.

"Next time." Her tone was flat, her gaze cold, "Didn’t we say we’d meet the parents during the winter holiday for New Year’s? The first meeting with the parents should be more formal."

Isaac Sutton’s tone was a bit disappointed, "Alright."

"Baby, it’s not fun, not fun at all." Isaac Sutton suddenly said sincerely, "I really won’t stay out so late next time, don’t be mad at me."

Clara Sterling realized he was responding to her remark over the phone "Is it fun?"

At the time, she was actually asking him whether pretending to be poor was fun.

But Isaac Sutton misunderstood.

He thought she was angry because he came back late from a classmate’s birthday party and was asking whether the party was fun.

Clara Sterling didn’t correct him, just went along with his words, "Mm, not mad."

"Really?" Isaac Sutton smiled, his eyes filled with light again.

Today he was wearing the white down jacket she bought for over a thousand, paired with the white turtleneck sweater she personally knitted.

Isaac Sutton is quite handsome, with well-defined features, fair and clean, even pretending to be poor for the last two years, wearing faded shirts and jeans nevertheless made him stand out.

Winter sunlight on him made him appear even gentler.

Hard to imagine someone so gentle could do such cruel things to her.

Clara Sterling stopped, looked up at him, her mind churned with thoughts, so many things she wanted to say.

She truly felt unwilling.

Why did she have to give her heart only to be trampled beneath his feet?

Why could he spend her money with peace of mind even though he was so rich, watching her work herself to exhaustion to make money?

Why could he say he loved her while kissing another woman passionately?

"I really know I’ve done wrong, please don’t ignore me." Isaac Sutton looked aggrieved, "I’ll never stay out so late again, and will report to you wherever I go, okay?"

"Okay." Clara Sterling tugged at her lips, smiled slightly.

"Baby, you’re the best." Isaac Sutton leaned in to kiss her face.

Clara Sterling turned her head to dodge, "There are people around."

Isaac Sutton laughed, "Then let’s find a place without people next time to kiss."

Clara Sterling: "My mom’s still waiting for me, I’m leaving now."

"Okay baby, I’ll eat in the cafeteria, dinner together tonight?"

"I have to go to work."

After speaking, Clara Sterling suddenly added, "Final exams are coming up, and I have to squeeze time to study, but I’m really short on money lately."

She paused, and said jokingly, "If only you suddenly became rich, I wouldn’t have to work three part-time jobs so hard."

Isaac Sutton’s body froze.

After a moment of silence, she heard Isaac Sutton say sincerely, "I’ll definitely let you live a good life in the future."

Clara Sterling laughed.

Go to hell.

For the first time she cursed Isaac Sutton so viciously in her heart.

...

Silas Sheffield finished the meeting just as it was time to get off work.

His friend Ethan Fuller invited him for lunch.

Fuller Tower was right opposite Sheffield Tower, separated by a street.

Ethan Fuller loved to invite Silas Sheffield for meals whenever he was free.

In the restaurant, Silas Sheffield was chatting with Ethan Fuller about business projects when he inadvertently glanced at the couple diagonally across the table, his gaze froze.

An elegantly curled-haired woman was sitting across from Isaac Sutton.

From the back, it was clearly not Clara Sterling.

Close enough, Silas Sheffield heard their conversation.

The woman asked, "Heard you’ve got a girlfriend in school?"

Isaac Sutton was facing Silas Sheffield, from this angle, Silas could clearly see the unruly smile playing at his lips.

Isaac Sutton: "Yeah, didn’t you date someone abroad too?"

"I broke up before coming back to the country," the woman’s tone seemed discontent, "When will you break up with that Clara Sterling?"

Silas Sheffield slightly furrowed his brow, his expression darkening.

"When I’m tired of playing," Isaac Sutton maintained a nonchalant attitude, "Don’t worry, pretending to be poor is actually quite fun. At least I can confirm she’s not with me for money."

The woman said discontentedly, "So what you’re saying is you don’t want to break up yet?"

Isaac Sutton chuckled mischievously, eyes ambiguous, "What? Jealous?"

The woman said nothing.

"Relax, babe, I’m just playing with Clara Sterling, when I’ve had enough, I’ll come back to you."

"Silas?" Ethan Fuller saw Silas Sheffield zone out, waved his hand in front of him, "What are you looking at?"

Silas Sheffield withdrew his gaze, his lips pressed into a straight line, his expression very unpleasant.

"What’s wrong?" Ethan Fuller was puzzled, "Who upset you, why are you looking so sour?"

Silas Sheffield coldly said, "Nothing, let’s eat."
