CHAPTER 115: CHAPTER 115: ONLY A FOOL LETS A GRUDGE GO UNAVENGED
"What?" She was dumbfounded.
The Jensen boss didn’t make them compensate? Then what has she been busy with these past few days?
"Check your phone."
At 7:31 this morning, Mr. Jensen sent a message stating that since both parties couldn’t reach a consensus, the project deadline could be extended by another month.
Not a word about compensation.
Needless to say, the change in Mr. Jensen’s attitude was definitely because of James Grant.
"What did you threaten him with? Yesterday he was still pushing me, saying either pay up or break up with you." Evelyn Clayton found it hard to believe.
James Grant raised an eyebrow, his expression instantly dangerous.
"Break up? Ha—"
He let out a cold laugh, it seemed the Jensen Family hadn’t suffered enough from him.
Evelyn Clayton wanted to say more, but James Grant grabbed her jaw and gently kissed her.
"If there’s a threat like this again, tell me."
His eyes revealed ferocity and madness.
"For each one that comes, I’ll deal with one."
Evelyn Clayton pouted and rolled her eyes, "Alright, alright, I’ll definitely tell you next time."
"I have to go back to the studio now to finish the project, once and for all! I won’t cooperate with them anymore; it’s disgusting!"
Only then did James Grant let go of Evelyn Clayton, satisfied, and drove her over.
"But Mr. Jensen was also following orders, did you know? I want to find out who’s behind this."
In the car, Evelyn Clayton was still frowning in thought.
A game of this scale, just to make her break up with James Grant, who on earth could it be?
An urgent phone ring interrupted Evelyn Clayton’s thoughts, and James Grant glanced up.
It was Clara Yates.
Didn’t that just answer the question?
"Want revenge?"
Evelyn Clayton raised an eyebrow, "Only a fool doesn’t seek revenge!"
"Then answer the call."
Evelyn Clayton had already figured out what was going on.
Isn’t it just a price quote? Is it really worth going to such lengths to deal with her?
The thought was amusing.
"James, you’re back?" Clara Yates feigned ignorance, speaking with a fake voice, "Want to have lunch together? I have something to discuss with you."
"Sure, let’s meet at the club from last night." James Grant’s tone was cold and expressionless.
Clara Yates’s voice halted; she still tried to play dumb, "What club? I don’t know."
"You stupid?" James Grant sneered, mocking her mercilessly.
"With intelligence like that, do you deserve to have a meal with me?"
"No, no, no! I’ll book a table right away, don’t be late." Clara Yates didn’t dare bluff any longer, just hoping James Grant would show mercy later.
Going to the same place as last night again, Evelyn Clayton wasn’t too pleased.
James Grant gripped her cold fingertips, his mouth curling up. "You wanted to let off steam, right? Then use their own tactics against them."
That’s easier said than done, but she couldn’t bring herself to drug someone like Clara Yates did.
She would just have to improvise when the time came.
At the entrance of the club, Clara Yates was waiting early, using the waiting time to constantly touch up her makeup, her eyeliner getting thicker, even unbuttoning a couple more buttons on her blouse—
If she remembered correctly, James Grant liked women with good figures.
She was confident in her own shape, and if James Grant was willing, she wouldn’t mind having him punish her body to offset her mistakes.
Her plan crumbled the moment she saw James Grant walking in with Evelyn Clayton.
James Grant looked straight ahead, his gaze on her as if looking at something filthy, filled with disgust.
Evelyn Clayton, however, swept her gaze across Clara’s chest, her eyes full of mockery.
Clara Yates was furious.
"James, you brought someone along without telling me? Good thing I didn’t reserve a romantic dinner, or we wouldn’t have fit."
