Flirted Wrong, Married Right
Chapter 44: Passion Ignited
CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 44: PASSION IGNITED
"Hm? What time?"
Three seconds later, a series of loud noises erupted nearby, and dazzling fireworks burst open in the sky.
Evelyn Clayton was amazed by the sudden fireworks: "Isn’t it forbidden to randomly set off fireworks now?"
"Harrison Grant loves to show off, he always finds a way."
Mentioning Harrison Grant, James Grant’s tone was full of sarcasm.
Evelyn Clayton didn’t notice but kept her eyes on the fireworks.
She hadn’t watched fireworks so intently in a long time. Every year, fireworks were set off in the city during the New Year.
But she spent New Year alone, making the already lonely atmosphere even more pitiful with the fireworks.
Thus, she always felt inexplicably opposed to fireworks.
Yet, tonight’s fireworks were truly beautiful, not only dazzling but also forming various patterns, obviously a hefty investment.
"James Grant, look at that one, it’s so pretty!"
Evelyn Clayton tugged on James Grant’s sleeve, excitedly pointing it out to him, completely ignoring their mutual probing from a few minutes ago.
James Grant looked in the direction she was pointing: "Yes, it’s indeed very pretty."
"This one’s nice too! You—"
As she turned her head, James Grant leaned in to kiss her.
His tongue directly parted her lips, skillfully ravaging her mouth, forcefully demanding her response.
"Mm—"
Evelyn Clayton wanted to push him away, but he held her tightly in his arms.
The more she struggled, the tighter he embraced.
I have to admit, his kissing skills were truly exceptional.
Gradually, Evelyn Clayton forgot to resist, and her hands changed from pushing him away to grasping his coat, lost in his scent.
Until the fireworks no longer soared into the sky, everything went silent, and James Grant finally released her.
Evelyn Clayton was just about to react when cheers and whistles suddenly arose from downstairs.
"Yo, James Grant, you really know how to put on a passionate show. Thanks so much for giving us quite the spectacle. We came to see fireworks, but now we get a free passion show," Shawn Donovan teased, dancing around and waving his phone: "I recorded that entire scene. If you don’t want me to post it online, lend me that new Ferrari of yours!"
James Grant laughed and cursed: "Dream on. I was kissing my future wife, perfectly legal and reasonable. If you want to post, go ahead."
Shawn Donovan decided to take him on.
"Alright everyone, listen up, whoever has the video, post it online now. I’ll pay you! Two hundred thousand per video!"
The crowd below went wild, haggling with Shawn Donovan.
James Grant patted Evelyn Clayton on the shoulder: "I’ll go down and teach them a lesson."
He spoke of teaching them a lesson, but his face held a smile, not caring about the video at all.
Evelyn Clayton nodded, expressionless.
The wind blew past her ears, cooling the warmth from the kiss earlier.
Fortunately, she hadn’t had a chance to ask, or it would have been too embarrassing.
When the fireworks are in the sky, everyone comes out to watch.
James Grant timed the kiss perfectly, allowing them to capture it on video and post it online, every step was calculated.
She was here to act, after all, and an actor couldn’t be picky about the script.
"Miss Clayton."
Evelyn Clayton turned around to find Keith Donovan.
"Hello."
Keith Donovan smiled gently, maintaining a close yet respectful distance.
"You don’t have to be so formal. I’m a good friend of James’, and you’re his future wife. We’ll be seeing each other often; do you need to be so formal every time?"
That might not be the case.
Evelyn Clayton flashed a perfect yet distant smile: "I don’t tend to meet my partner’s friends frequently."
