Flirted Wrong, Married Right
Chapter 473: Caught Off Guard
CHAPTER 473: CHAPTER 473: CAUGHT OFF GUARD
Yara Reagan was instantly embarrassed.
Evelyn Clayton felt a bit uneasy too, unsure of how much Franklin Ford and Rhys Jacobs overheard of their conversation.
Unlocking the car, the two men got in, and Yara didn’t know where to direct her awkward gaze.
Evelyn, however, remained calm and first asked about the main issue: "So, did you see it?"
Rhys replied, "That car should be Little Deer’s, but after it parked at Little Deer’s apartment entrance for a bit, it drove off. The behavior was very suspicious, so we think it might be a misdirection."
"What?" Evelyn hesitated slightly.
Franklin said slowly, "It’s very likely that Little Deer guessed someone would stake out her place, so she sent a car first. She herself might have gone in through another door."
While they spoke, Rhys had already started the car, heading for another entrance.
The car was very quiet as they drove.
Evelyn and Yara exchanged a look.
"Uh, you guys came back so suddenly, it gave us a scare," Yara laughed awkwardly twice, "We thought someone spotted us."
Franklin glanced at her.
In his glance there was a hint of amusement, and his words carried even more humor, with a bit of teasing: "Hmm, sorry about that. But I think your idea is excellent, that with money, you can indeed treat men as resources."
Yara’s face instantly turned red, and she shrank to the side without speaking, closing her eyes to pretend to be dead.
Franklin chuckled lightly, "Just kidding, don’t mind it."
Yara opened her eyes, dryly saying, "No, it’s fine, I was just speaking nonsense."
Evelyn was amused yet helpless.
She was now certain that Yara, this silly girl, was a fool.
Because Evelyn was almost sure that while Franklin seemed thoroughly interested in her, his real concern was for Yara.
However, Evelyn decided not to make it explicit.
She just waited to see when this silly girl, Yara, would realize it herself.
When they reached the side entrance of the neighborhood, they didn’t wait long before spotting another seven-seater van coming from the street corner, stopping at the side entrance.
This van looked nearly identical to the previous one; if one didn’t look carefully, it might even be mistaken for the same vehicle.
But Evelyn remembered the license plate number clearly, so she recognized it at a glance.
The others in the car also noticed something was off, and they held their breath as they watched that van.
Soon, the car door opened, and a slender, tall figure stepped out.
Since it was late autumn, the figure was wrapped in a long down coat, but still, one could tell the good, well-defined figure from the pair of slim legs.
"It’s Little Deer!" Yara focused intently on that back, "I recognize her, she has super slim legs!"
As soon as she spoke, two more people got out of the car, appearing to be Little Deer’s assistants or something, each carrying a large bag, following Little Deer step by step as she entered the community through the side entrance.
"We can pretty much confirm that she’s back," Evelyn finally breathed a sigh of relief, "This way, it will be much easier to meet her."
Yara was eager, "How about we go directly to her door now? Catch her off guard!"
Franklin shook his head, saying, "That would easily cause conflict. It’d be better to keep an eye on her, see when she goes out, and then intercept her in a public place, that’s better."
"Otherwise, Director Clayton, you can go back and rest first, I’ll keep watch here," Rhys spoke up at this moment, lowering his voice, "As soon as I see her, I’ll notify you immediately."
