CHAPTER 480: CHAPTER 480: BREAKING THE LAW AND VIOLATING DISCIPLINE
James Grant suddenly looked up, then chuckled lightly, "Don’t do anything illegal."
Keith Donovan flashed a mischievous grin.
"Honestly, in our circle, it’s rare to see someone as placed as you," Keith remarked with a hint of sentimentality. "They say with a stepmother comes a stepfather, and that’s no lie. Your old man is really heartless, not lending you a hand at all."
James Grant raised an eyebrow, his stern face carrying a trace of sarcasm. "How am I restrained?"
Keith’s expression was exaggerated. "How are you not restrained? Sure, my old man also has a few bastards outside, but who dares to bring it into the house?"
The Donovan Family, compared to the Grant Family, is equally chaotic.
Keith’s biological father is quite the schemer, but Keith’s mom isn’t any less.
Both have illegitimate children outside, and Keith’s father’s illegitimate daughters are countless.
But Keith’s mom is decisive, ensuring Keith’s basic inheritance rights.
At the height of chaos in the Donovan Family, Keith’s dad’s mistress stormed in, carrying a wailing infant in swaddling clothes, causing a ruckus.
However, Keith’s mom waved her hand and simply raised them at home.
Although outsiders secretly laughed at the Donovan Family’s absurdity at that time, it wasn’t long before that mistress quietly passed away from an illness, leaving behind a not even one-year-old daughter.
Now, that little girl is in her teens, obedient and well-behaved. Keith’s mom even dotes on her, and the family lives harmoniously.
No other mistress dares to create a scene, and Keith’s dad only plays around secretly.
Everyone lives in peace.
"To be blunt, my brother, didn’t our mom leave you some property? You didn’t take a penny when you left, leaving it all to your old man. I saw it back then. You’re hoping to go back, aren’t you?"
Keith wore an expression that said, "I understand you the best."
James Grant remained indifferent, scoffing, "Am I not a Grant?"
He wasn’t attached to Harrison Grant.
He just couldn’t let go of the place he lived since childhood, where his mother once lived too.
"I know you can’t let go of Atlas Group, nor your family’s old house," Keith commented, then suddenly smirked, "If you can’t let go, then take it back. Even if you can’t get it back at once, you shouldn’t let those two brothers of yours strut around in there."
James Grant laughed, glancing at him sideways, "Are you trying to persuade me to go back indirectly?"
Keith cheekily raised his hands, "I didn’t say that. I just think being flexible and adaptable is what it takes to do great things!"
James Grant curled his lips, a trace of indescribable cunning flashing through his eyes, "Didn’t I say before that this seemed like Matthew Sullivan’s work? But there’s one thing I just realized."
"What?"
"Though this time’s actions seem like his, he doesn’t possess the depth and intellect to execute flawlessly. I secretly sent people to find those old shareholders, and they escaped a long time ago, leaving no trace."
Keith frowned, "So, you mean Matthew Sullivan has someone behind him?"
"That’s right."
James Grant spoke slowly while the image of Jasper Grant’s perpetually smiling face appeared in his mind.
He closed the laptop, chuckling softly, "My old man’s birthday is coming up soon. It’s time to go back and take a look."
Keith’s eyes lit up, "Right on! Is your old man turning fifty-five? I’ll bring my sister along and liven things up for you!"
